stanley uris is the first person richie tozier comes out to. he’s fifteen and terrified of the whole thing but he’s not scared to tell stan because he trusts stan and he knows stan will accept him and support him and he’s right because he tells him and stan says “okay richie thank you for telling me now we’ve made popcorn and cookies do you want to watch fresh prince or what?” they go to the same school and share a dorm room and eventually an apartment and richie never complains when stan spreads a puzzle out on their coffee table and stan never complains when richie spends an hour in the shower practicing various voices where he thinks nobody can hear him. richie gets out of the shower and goes in the kitchen and stan is making a sandwich and he says “the british guy is getting better” and richie grins and shakes his wet hair all over stan and steals half his sandwich, but it’s not really stealing, because he knows stan and he knows half was for him anyway. richie is the first person stan tells about patty and richie’s eyes well up with tears and he claps stan on the shoulder and says “hell yeah staniel always knew you were a lady killer” and stan rolls his eyes but it means something to have richie be proud of him. stan is the first person richie tells about eddie and stan says “okay richie i support you i think he’s nuts and i think you’ll kill each other someday but you’ve been stupid gone for him since third grade so i support you” and richie laughs and knows stan’s being dramatic but it means something to have stan’s support. they are the best man at each other’s wedding. richie is the fourth person to hold stan’s firstborn son (because the doctor, patty, and stan himself are the first three) and he nearly cries when stan says “his middle name is richard”.

You know I was just thinking about Will in the Upside Down, especially on Day 1-ish when the search party was out. It’s been established that you can hear sounds and voices from our dimension while you’re in the Upside Down, and we know Will was mainly out in the Upside Down version of the woods (near his house and Castle Byers) - where the search party was.

Imagine Will in the Upside Down, less than 24 hours after first seeing the Demogorgon. Huddling behind a tree or in his fort. Hearing the voices approaching, calling his name - the voices of his teachers and neighbors and family. Imagine him screaming back, screaming until his throat stings and goes raw, screaming I’m here I’m here please I’m here please see me hear me don’t leave me I’m right here -

But then the voices move past him, further into the woods. Leaving him alone again.

(And if you wanna cry about byeler imagine Will listening for Mike’s voice, hoping Mike is looking for him, missing him - and not hearing it.)

Dustin, Max, and Lucas are all looking at the fireworks but mike is not. He’s either looking at el or will (I can’t tell but I would love for him to be looking at will) and that might show the possible love triangle between the three of them? Idk but the only two people looking at the camera are will and el and if that doesn’t confirm that Will has some sort of powers or connections to Eleven the idk what it

Maybe because I like mileven but I see it as Mike staring worriedly at El.Though I think the reason El and Will are looking away is because it has to do with the fact both can sense the Mind Flayer and that Will has powers.

I see him looking at El too, but the biggest thing I notice (other than Will and El both looking back at some sort of threat) is how far apart Mike and El are. Like they’re holding hands but there’s a LARGE space between them. We know they’re going to be in a relationship come s3, but does that big gap represent them drifting apart? my thoughts about the poster:

okay so…. first of all… WIG

i‘m gonna go by each character/relationship

will

- he‘s looking at the camera (looking at the monster.. seriously look at the bottom of the poster so we know he‘s not exactly safe from the next season. with him looking at the camera, i feel like it can also signify his role in s3 and hopefully an arc for him as letting him somewhat escape the torments of the upside down but considering what we see? unlikely! but also i can bring that to my theories about will and el being connected (i‘ll get to that later when i get to eleven) but aside from that i‘m theorizing that will is going to have a significant role in the next season as well as hopefully a healing arc from his trauma related to the upside down.)

- he‘s turned towards eleven and mike (another stretch i may take, but from what has been teased about the relationship between mike and el as well as will‘s role with both of them. coming from last season and he‘s been extremely close with mike, coming to now being finally able to interact with eleven. noah and millie have both talked slightly about season three but not as much in depth, but from what i‘ve gathered i think that will has something to do with the relationships he shares with both eleven and mike.)

eleven

- she’s also looking at the camera (we know this significantly relates to the monster and how it‘s aware of her and her connection the the upside down. this is nothing new, but it’s giving us another clue as to her role as what she may face in the upcoming season)

- she‘s paralleling with will (i have theories about will and el being connected in the forces of the upside down and their parallels with their experience of dealing with the monster, my personal theory for them is that they‘ll be brought together in many ways and might end up working together?)

- she‘s holding mike’s hand (we know that mike and eleven are starting off the season together, but also noticing that will is the only one turned towards eleven and mike, my mind is telling me that will may be another force within the relationship of eleven and mike since he‘s heavily tied to both parties of the relationship and considering what noah and millie have expressed about the relationships of the season that i‘m sure mike and el may be broken up or torn apart during a bit of the season and will may be ultimately tied to both sides of that relationship.)

mike

- he‘s holding eleven‘s hand (this doesn’t say much about his role except for his relationship with el, but from what i‘ve expressed above i‘m sure that this will not last between them. his expression seems mildly concerned for her, but it could be for multiple reasons. i‘m not getting much about what’s in store for him this season but all i can theorize is that his relationship with el will become ultimately broken during a part of the season.)

dustin

- he seems caught up by everything else (he‘s looking at the fireworks, and there’s not much to tell from his shot? but all i can say is that him being distracted along with the rest of the party may hint at his ease and unawareness to the things that may be facing eleven and will.)

max

- paralleled with dustin, she’s not paying attention (may as well relate to how she’s caught up with the fireworks, and not paying attention to what’s happening behind her. this also does relate to her aspect of the party as she’s not as involved in the rest of the upside down as well as still getting a hang of understanding the situations of the party.)

- she’s not looking at lucas (this may be a stretch, but since we know this is the season of love and these relationships set in the beginning of the season can change it’s hard to say if her relationship with lucas is completely set in stone. knowing how things may change quickly, i can somewhat theorize that this might be an aspect we‘ll see coming in the season.)

lucas

- he‘s distracted but not as heavily (as how max and dustin are looking at the fireworks, lucas is distracted from what’s going on behind him. this also may be a stretch to call, but since we already know his role of being really invested and serious about the party and the events of the upside down, it makes sense as to why he may be not as unfocused as the others.)

jane and will have very similar poses but while jane has a hand to hold (mikes) wills is empty. his hand is in a fist and hes shaped almost like theres an empty space near him where another person, holding his hand, should be. Okay it DOES look like Will’s staring at them, but even if he’s not I’m kinda relieved because he’s still shown to be seperate from the group meaning he’s still got the spotlight on him. Secondly, the top of the poster reads “One Summer can Change Everything?”

What if that means Mileven changes, and Byler comes out on top??
