Elaboration 😑 this links back to my earlier post about the two major religons on cybertron

reading (and taking notes) on calvinism and i realized vos-kaon has shared values. especially with how vos-kaon believes in a sort of predestination with the primes (as well as the primes being fundamentally unable to remove the stain of unicron thanksto megatronus.).

tldr; calvinism follows a strict dualism mindset - every person is born sinful. god has determined everything that will ever happen and if you aren't destined for salvation, there is nothing you can do to save yourself! (salvation meaning experiencing a specific set of circumstances (aka conversion) that will ensure you not only go to heaven and whatnot, but also you get to vote, be a part of the church and the government.) they had lists of questions and things to look out for when someone applied for membership to the church. and not even your kids were guaranteed to be permitted in.

(also, i have to note that the predestination thing caused a LOT of issues, including people going fuck it, im NOT going to bother with working or good deeds.)

vos-kaon has a visible, upfront culture of work and doing good things to support your community and fellow mech (which justified the imperialistic hold on kaon until it sank) (the way proteus and pharma treat people, the way blitzwing refuses to align himself with either major army and helps them both in matters of advice).

not only that, but elita, polaris, pharma, d-16, and shatter (to a lesser extent) all have the idea of predestination and an absolute, unchangable view of self and society at large in their heads.

and its interesting that kaonites are viewed as good workers (imperialism) and do good things (because its culturally expected), but they are still viewed as spiritually worse and lesser than vosians even with the subjugation of their country, labor, and resources removed. which makes me wonder if there's an added element of an "orginal sin" via megatronus poisoning the earth, kaon being ground 0 for the rot.

the more i do anything with the schism that formed the religions that shaped both major cultures socially and politically, the more it unfortunately makes sense and further sends home why polaris chose to kill himself over being both having a redundant and unwanted job in a post-war society (as well as being forced back in when he briefly was able to leave and do something else), and could justify the idea that he's fundamentally evil and predestined to facilitate destruction in his own life and in the lives of others on a micro and macro level and can never make up for that core part of his being. i am so sick of this guy. calvinist libertarian lockheed martin whose personality is closer to hal mitm.

I made an offhand comment that Ratchet would probably be Irish-Jewish if he were human and upon recent establishment of what the two major religions are and with how Puritans / Calvinists / AND Russians (since there are Orthodox Catholic elements in the Vos-Kaon religon) would banish people and Kaon is treated like a gulag and a country full of lesser people that is literally sinking from their "original sin"...

If there's a group during the golden age (centuries before the story is set) that gets exiled from Vos to Kaon but still found themselves in enough danger from the Vos government and wound up moving even further north. Hm! I'd imagine it's extremely small though, maybe only 2000 people belonging to it at the height of it.

Because Vos-Kaon is a very philanthropy based society, it'd make sense they are too. Probably more akin to mission work however and due to being widely hated for many reasons, including having a nuanced view on Unicron that isn't "he's literally Satan and evil itself", they aren't keen to preach at all. Would probably be known only by having a form of Yiddish as a second language or their accent.

Also: "You are going to Kaon(Brazil)" is an offensive joke.
