I remember a time when the most beautiful napping spot I had encountered was a grass patch in a hidden nook of my WI hometown. Have you ever driven a 30 year old vehicle pedal to the medal over a giant bump in the middle of the desert? I highly recommend it.
Syncrofest was such a beautiful glorious time. Our camp termed "air-cooled camp" and "vanlifers camp" radiated positivity, love and acceptance the whole time. I had a blast singing, dancing, painting, cycling, and syncroing with lots of new friends. Oh, and I got to finally meet my unicorn soul mate (@mr.noah.dahl) and his daughter pictured here. ________________ Did you make it to Syncrofest? What were your favorite parts? What would you like to see next year to make the event even better?
As the darkness crept under the Redwood canopy, we shed our clothing and did our best to become one with the forest floor. Something I learned from my grandpa as a child is that if you sit still and quiet in the forest for a while, the creatures there will resume their natural sounds and activities and you will experience the true neutral state of the forest. _________________ If you haven't already, you should go into the nearest nature area and just spend 20 minutes silent and still. Took this one as I headed it to the mountains after a short day of clinic. I had no idea what I'd find or what I'd do, but I was pretty sure it would be beautiful. _________________ Well... I got stuck, got unstuck, found some deer bones, found lots of wild sage, and saw a couple eagles! Well, I made it all the way out to Baker City, OR, a 10 hour drive from my last rotation site in Medford, OR. My first day of surgery rotation is complete. _________________ Travelling a lot makes me quiet and leads me to contemplate many things... _________________ Today I saw the worst outcomes of diabetes possible. Lately, I've been off the sugar train, and on the good fats, bread free, lots of veggies and fiber train. We only get one body and possibly one life on this earth. One thing I know is that I will make the most of it. I ask a lot of my body, so I'm going to be treating it more like a refuge and less like a black hole. (at Baker City, Oregon)
