We have fun here.
hey idk if you’ll see this because you’ve been inactive for a bit, but i just wanted to say that you’re a really good writer!
everywhere, everything (wanna love you) is so good! i read it when it first came out and i was hooked. i was reminded of it recently and re read it. you did an excellent job with building suspense and intrigue, and you wrote the changeling really well.
if you ever decide to return to it, you’d definitely have a reader in me. obvs no pressure at all— i’m a writer to and i know how much work it can be. either way, great work!! ❤️
Gosh, you're actually the sweetest. Making me cry. Thank you! Like, a thousand thank yous.
Yeah, life happens and my writing's been chaotic. Bleh.
I get distracted so easily. WIPs are a chronic issue. I have the rest of everywhere, everything (wanna love you) planned and a solid bit written, but then my Mean Girls AU wouldn't let me ignore it and now a band AU is actively keeping me hostage. Not to mention so many other ideas and vibes that pop up demanding attention combined with how slow I write.
All this to say, thank you! Thank you for reading! Thank you for reaching out! Thank you for being so kind!
Oh, and I'll definitely finish it. Just over a longer timeline then I anticipated :D
DBDA videos in this economy?
Fans of Over the Garden Wall: express their anger at Hulu for planning to remove it right before spooky season.
Hulu: Listens to the feedback from fans & decides not to remove it from the platform!
See @netflix? That's how it's done! Be more like Hulu. Listen to fans and save Dead Boy Detectives!! It should have never been canceled and repealing the decision would be great PR for your platform that is becoming known for having a show graveyard. Dead Boy Detectives deserves better, and all the people involved deserve to finish the stories they started.
The fanbase isn't going anywhere, so PLEASE listen to your the fans (your customers), the countless critics, and the growing list of publications criticizing this decision and
SAVE DEAD BOY DETECTIVES!

Agency Assignments: A comprehensive to-do list for saving Dead Boy Detectives!
I'm very easily overwhelmed, so I wanted to break down all the ways to help "Save Dead Boy Detectives" that I have seen floating around. This is meant to be something you can reference when you feel like there is so much you need and want to do to help, but don't know how or where to start.
Note: I will be updating this post as we go when necessary, so feel free to bookmark it in your browser for easy access, add it to your homepage, whatever! I'll always have a link to it in my Pinned Navigation post on my blog as well!
It is of the utmost importance that we fight as an organized, well-informed front. We need to be on the same page if we're going to save our show, so let's get into it! 💜💀🔎
The campaign to renew/save Dead Boy Detectives doesn't have one singular goal.
Yes, there is a main goal, but there are also other objectives in the meantime:
Strengthen the community and keep the fandom alive and tight
Get new people to find out about this wonderful show that can very well change their lives as it did ours
Make ourselves feel better about the cancellation by doing something instead of just being sad and angry with nowhere to put the energy into
Join the voices of other fandoms to criticize the TV industry as a whole
Reinforce our love for the show, creators, crew and cast
I know it might feel like there's no point, but there is. Saving DBD is where we're headed, but there's so much on the road. Remember every fight ever fought felt hopeless at some point, and not every battle was won, but it always means something.
even if I die screaming
everyone I am begging you. DO NOT GIVE UP. that is what they want. And if the outrage I’ve seen here is any indication, they will regret it too! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep creating and stay mad! Don’t only be mad for the weekend, KEEP REACHING OUT and let everyone u know know about this wonderful show!! We need to END THE CANCELLATION streak. Netflix doesn’t understand that people love it and we need to show them! Get #renewdeadboydetectives and #savedeadboydetectives trending!! We can still try, and even if we fail, DONT LET THE FANDOM FAIL!! We need to stick together and KEEP CREATING! I’ve reblogged multiple ways of showing your anger already but my favorite are:
Send a suggestion for a title to Netflix for dbd 2! Link is in another post below.
get the hashtags to save the show trending!
send letters! Netflix’s address is something you can find out.
Netflix’s asks on here are open too! Make sure to send some in to show how much you love the show!!
there is a petition linked in a post below. Please sign and share!! We need as many people as possible.
most importantly: KEEP CREATING. the more they see we love it, the more they will realize they were wrong.
How am I supposed to function now 😭
I don't believe I can properly type out the sound of pain reading this post pulled from my lungs and heart.
Companies like Netflix and Warner Brothers TV are banking on our fandom falling into despair and losing hope for this show. They dropped the cancelation news on a Friday before a long weekend (Labor Day in the US) strategically, hoping that everyone would have the anger out of their system by the time they were back to work on Tuesday.
Do not give them the satisfaction of your silence. Shows have been canceled before and the fight from the fandom is what bolstered the creators, lit a fire under the network's ass, and saved the show in the end.
We can save this show, and we will save this show. The more of us that believe that, the more likely it is to happen. Keep talking, creating, and streaming. Raise hell this week and remind Netflix and Warner Bros. that we're not going anywhere.
You CANCEL Dead Boy Detectives? You cancel Dead Boy Detectives on a long weekend?
Oh oh jail for Netflix. Jail for Netflix for ONE THOUSAND YEARS.
the watch numbers are dropping a little so pls pls pls stream dead boy detectives if you can!! just have it on in the background!! you have to have audio on so if you have headphones you can plug those in or have your device on the lowest volume
if you can't participate that's okay! just try to spread it around or anything because this is our best shot at getting netflix's attention
Keep shouting!!!
SOMETHING SOMETHING??? DON'T GIVE ME HOPE 😭
Maybe Steve is trying to solve the issue with the show?
DON'T DO THIS TO ME.
NO.
WHIPLASH IS KILLING ME.
God, I do love to hope though. If only for a moment.
Let's #SaveDeadBoyDetectives!
Hi everyone!
As you’ve probably already seen on Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, or even the articles that are already written about how furious the fandom is right now, we are currently trying to fight for Dead Boy Detectives.
There is A LOT that we can do to make some noise and so much is already being done that it’s all getting very overwhelming to keep track of. So I've made this masterpost listing all (or at least most of) the things people in the fandom are trying to do right now that you can absolutely help with too! Thank you to everyone who’s fighting for the show! <3
DO NOT cancel your Netflix subscription in a fit of rage because of this. Netflix does not care about that. Here’s all the things you can do instead to make some noise to reach the people who worked on the show and hopefully the people at Netflix as well:
Rewatch the show with sound on! You can just connect your headphones and leave it running in the background while doing other stuff.
Interact with the fandom online and share the Hashtags as much as possible! Tumblr, Twitter, Instagram, wherever, spread the message as much as you can. The currently used hashtags are ‘save dead boy detectives’, ‘savedeadboydetectives’, ‘renew dead boy detectives’ and ‘revive dead boy detectives’. Try to boost the hashtags that are already used by the fandom but also feel free to create new ones on top of that or just generally tag the show etc.
We have sent out a tweet to Beth Schwartz asking her if there is any possibility of finding a new home or an alternative way of saving the show - if you’re on twitter, share the tweet by retweeting, quote tweeting, adding hashtags and tagging Beth in it! Here’s a link to the tweet: https://x.com/papysanzo/status/1829996492247220319
If you’re not on twitter, you can share the tumblr post about it and tag it using the hashtags mentioned above! Here’s a link to the tumblr post: https://www.tumblr.com/thepopsicle/760364779568300032/the-tweet-is-out-people-were-confused-about-the?source=share
There’s a petition for saving the show - sign it and ideally also share it wherever you can! Here’s the link to the petition: https://chng.it/M8dvDk9BcL
You can fill out the title request form and request Dead Boy Detectives Season 2 three times to let them know we still want it! Here’s the link to the request form: https://t.co/wkLf2DS06j
You can send (anonymous) asks to Netflix’s Tumblr account as long as they’re still open! Tell them how much you love the show and that the fandom wants more of it. Please remember to be polite in the message, rudeness won’t get us anywhere. Here’s the link to Netflix’s Tumblr account: https://www.tumblr.com/netflix
If you want to do more, you can send emails or physical letters to Netflix itself! Please remember to be polite here as well.
Here’s an email address you can write to: [email protected]
And here is the address you can send physical letters to: Netflix, Inc. 121 Albright Way Los Gatos, CA 95032, USA
If you have a subscription, you can also sign into the app and follow these steps: 1. In the lower right, tap “my Netflix” 2. In the upper right, tap the Menu. 3. Tap “Help”. 4. Tap the Call or Chat Button.
We would love to coordinate big watch parties, fandom events and hopefully a big online meetup with as many people as possible! Please feel free to join any DBDA event you see shared online and of course also share the events you know about with others!
And last but certainly not least, keep creating, interacting and sharing the love within the fandom! Even if all this effort leads to nothing in the end, we want to make sure the fandom stays active for as long as possible and that everyone involved can have fun and a good time with it despite the awful news we got. So keep the happy and positive fandom posts going as well as the fight for the show! <3
Please don’t feel bad if you’re not doing every single thing on this list, but know that every little bit helps.
Also, a quick reality check: The chances that Netflix will actually reconsider the cancellation are probably very slim. However, we’re still fighting for any little bit we can get, whether it’s the show being sold to another network, an audio format for season two, some sort of podcast with the cast, getting to read the script, anything. It’s not impossible to get something out of this, even if it isn’t a regular complete second season of the show. We'll keep fighting, even if it's scary, and the odds are bad, and we might die horrifically.
So, on that note - Thanks for reading this ridiculously long post, remember to drink some water, take care of yourself, and have a lovely rest of your day!
Hi all DBD fans,
I really recommend not just spamming @netflix with TV show requests for Dead Boy Detectives Season 2 (though please do!), but also writing to their customer service team. They can then forward this on and make sure our voice is heard.
You can see what I wrote below to give you a hint of what to write. I have anxiety so was worried about chatting with someone but you can just use the live chat to submit the message, they will confirm it, and then it's all done. Took me 1 min.
Please help us fight for this amazing show!
Guideline-
"I am contacting you regarding the cancellation of one of your shows. I am deeply disappointed that Dead Boy Detectives was not renewed for Season 2 despite it having fantastic writing, a strong fan community, and lots of potential. This cancellation has greatly knocked my trust in Netflix as a platform that is worthy of my custom. Please could it be noted that I, along with many other fans who are now campaigning, would greatly appreciate a reconsideration of this decision to cancel?
Kind regards,
A very disappointed fan."
Here's how to access the live chat-
Go ahead and spread your love for this show!
Also, the two growing petitions are under the cut-
thank you
As mad and depressed and heartbroken and absolutely seething as I am: thank you to this fandom and to everyone in it.
If this is how it has to be, I wouldn't change a thing. If there's truly no fate but this, I don't regret loving this show.
Because the love we all share is not Netflix's property or statistics on an exec's whiteboard. It doesn't even belong to the show or the creators. It's ours. Ours to keep or share or shout or protect. It's a beautiful gift. No one can force it. No one can take it. It's yours until you decide otherwise.
And it's that love we all gave willingly that makes this cancellation hurt so deeply. I've never been in a fandom that loves with such hopeful and earnest compassion. One that made me feel so welcome and safe.
This grief is unfair. It shouldn't happen. It's wrong. It's just a show but it's not. I love these characters and relationships. This story and world. It's message and healing. The show is fake but my feelings are real.
In conclusion: Fuck Netflix, fuck capitalism, fuck streaming services killing shows after they learn to walk and before they get the chance to run, fuck anyone who thinks this is the end, fuck this pattern of queer media death.
If there's one takeaway from this fantastic show's abrupt and tragic end: don't any of you gay dorks out there ever dare stop loving.
