She’s usually a pretty good judge of character, so something tells me that you’re right about that. I think this situation is more of the problem than you, Finn. It was kind of pushed onto you. it could be worse? we’re still in between coaches, they keep having dudes come out and run a practice with us, but no one’s really fit well with us yet. I mean, don’t get me wrong I’m pretty happy to be like someone trusted enough to run the team without a legit coach, but I think it was definitely easier when we had some authority and not just me barking drills.

between football conditioning and working in the shop, I’ve lost five pounds in the last two weeks and I’m pretty sure it’s because I’m sweating out everything that’s ever been in my body.

Today was actually bearable, and that’s saying a lot since it was practice on a Saturday. Thankfully I own sweated about half of my body weight this time. ... Crap, does this mean that I probs just jinxed myself to turn into a sweaty mess next week when Sue pops in even more cardio?

LAST TIME ON END OF EVERYTHING...

The last time we saw Kitty Wilde, a tough first semester of Junior year had left her a little less than optimistic as to what 2016 could bring. The district was still reeling from the case of Oliver Prescott’s sudden death and students and faculty alike were mourning the loss in multiple ways. Annabelle Hillier was definitely at the top of the list, and it showed in the performance of the cheerleading squad once they returned to school. Basketball games because an almost entirely student run event for the squad, draining head cheerleader, Rachel Berry’s, energy more than ever. Eventually it became too much and thus the squad decided to retire for the semester and perhaps pick themselves back up in the summer. Hopefully by then the case would be closed. The whispers of the details around the hallway were enough to let everyone know that not everything was how it seemed.

As for Kitty, she continued to work at Sweet Treats until the end of the year. The seasonal change from warm lattes and sweets to ice cream was more fun than she could have imagined, especially when she saw how happy the kids of Bay Grove were when they opened the shop for the first few cones in May. She graduated in the top of the class and had even saved up enough to life comfortably over the summer without her father’s help -- even if she was still going to take advantage of the hot rod that had been waiting all winter for another spin. Her mother started to notice how hard her daughter was working and decided that maybe it was time she started, too. Thus, both Wilde women were going to be in school. Her mother started with a few summer classes, but she was excited from the minute she signed up.

When word broke that Prescott’s case was officially under investigation for foul play the town was shaken yet again. School had just gotten out for the summer when the rumors started and within weeks the police had their first suspect: none other than the husband of Annabelle Hillier. It was like an episode of Forensic Files as the team put together enough evidence to convict the man of the murder. The shock was too great to bear -- enough to send Hillier fleeing from the scene with her daughter. The position of Cheerleading Coach was opened for Bay Grove High, right alongside Football Coach. Luckily the girls didn’t have to wait too long to hear of the new woman who would be leading them. She was a supposed five-time Nationals winner and wanted to make their squad into a competing machine by the end of the summer. How could anyone argue against Sue Sylvester about that?

And that was that. Sue had re-auditions for the squad as soon as she was dropped on the field. Grueling hours in the sun led to them coming up either twenty-four boys and girls who were more than ready for what would lie ahead of them, and at the top of the pyramid was none other than Kitty Wilde herself. Quinn had never really made nice with the squad before it was torn apart and put back together, Santana was happy being second-in-command, and Rachel’s focus had shifted from the field to the stage as soon as the squad broke apart and she couldn’t abandon her work for Sue’s schedule. By the end of July it seemed like maybe it was possible for Kitty Wilde to finally have a good year. The practices were hard. Work was a little time-consuming. Boys were out of the question. Finally she was happy with herself and she couldn’t imagine her senior year being anything but perfect after the suckfest that the last one was. It had to be perfect.

How did you manage to get paid time off after two months? That’s the kind of thing you find in an American Girl book.

Because it’s a part-time job where I work like two hours a day and I’ve worked every major holiday since I’ve started so the ladies were feeling pretty festive towards me, the girl who is basically paying all of her bills at home by herself at this point? Nothing American Girl about it. Probably just people feeling good about me doing something even though it seems like that’s such a shock to everyone around here.
