I need to find the trilogy I read when I was a teenager. Please someone help me:
It’s a world where everyone has a single (but not unique) power. People can collect powers by killing someone and eating their heart to get the power(s) they have.
I think (not sure at all) the main character is named Adam. His father is known for being a bad person and having like 8 powers.
I don’t know how, MC ends up in a camp? It might be training for something, and he doesn’t like it there very much.
He also ends up meeting his dad and the guy doesn’t seem to be as bad as MC was convinced to believe. But there’s an attack and dad ends up dying in front of him. Not before asking MC to eat his heart, cause all those powers in the wrong hands could be dangerous.
MC has many powers now and one of them is slowing down time. That’s all I remember plot wise. He might try to lead a rebellion? Idk, but that was a theme I loved back then, so that might be an element.
The MC is queer and has a lover, but I think the love interest is introduced kinda late in the series. I think the love interest dies and MC decides to become a tree in a forest? Weird I know, but I remember something like that happened.
The covers for the books were: green, red, and i don’t remember the third one.
