Isolating himself after the last A debacle had been the best, they'd been near-by-- an hour outside of Rosewick with Erin but stayed in a fortress the moment he entered. life was going to be different for the both of them and he wanted to be sure the two of them were safe, so cameras covered anywhere they could and he had the dog outside for the night to be on the lookout while Erin had been out. Tommy didn't like to think he'd be so paranoid, but.. tonight seemed to have a different story. Maybe it had been him thinking too much onnit?
Maybe. But his phone snapped him out of his thoughts, immediately sliding up on 'talk' and bringing it to his ear. ''This is Tommy.''
''Sure you're still not goin' by Cobra these days?''
The automated voice making him stiffen and he's looking around, reaching for the weapon holstered with his free hand while keeping the phone pressed to his ear. ''Giving me a reason to still go by that? You're just setting yourself up to get put six feet under again, you know?'' Tommy murmurs as he draws his hand from his holster to reach for the tablet that he has for the video cameras he's put up outside, but the voice on the end of the other line makes him freeze.
''You honestly think checking those will save you? What if I'm already inside?''
''This isn't a fucking scary movie dipshit. Don't care if you're with A or Anarchy themselves, come on out and die already.'' Tommy yells into the line and when he hears the chuckle, it makes his blood boil at the voice sounding unfazed but it's.. it brings the hairs on the back of his neck to a standstill hearing it real time.
The knife in his back gets a howl of pain from him,, curling forward as he attempts to fight from the the hold, only for the knife to be pulled from his back and jammed into his side-- and for a good second, he has his hands on the weapon ready to wrestle it out of the grasp. ''For someone who claims to be a snake, you sure seem to be a little weak to strike.'' It's a quick flash of red, grunting in the struggle for the knife when the mask headbutts him and when he has a chance? He reaches for the nearest knife to make an attempt to at least draw some blood from whoever this was.
Erin would bound to be home soon & there was some part of him hoping that he'd hit the alarm within the app before the knife had gone in his side. Spitting the red liquid that had been pooling at his lips at the feet of his attacker, Tommy gave a grin and moved to strike only for his movements to come to a screeching halt mid-attack when the knife had gone into his stomach-- curling forward. The knife in his bloodied hands falling at his feet as he looks up at the attacker, dropping to a knee at first then fully collapsing onto his other.
The words dying in the attacker's throat as he looks out towards the window at the sound of sirens in the distance, shooting a glance over at Tommy who gave him nothing but a shit eating grin. This mother.. No time for that. With a frustrated yell, he uses the back of his elbow to knock the gang member out and take off through the backdoors of the residence.

It's one thing to take someone like Tommy off their game and leave them a bloody heap on their kitchen floor. But to not look for the cameras, he'd been beating himself up but Austin got a show. All from acting on impulse, sloppy-- but he'd be sure to clean up his game.
From his spot in the distance, he could see the disgruntled looks on the faces of the paramedics as the wheeled the former rose member out.''Legacy characters never seem to last in this town Anyways.'' A small tsk as he glances down at his phone in time to see that the green check had flashed across his screen, signaling Tommy's attack had been sent out with the caption.
'Did you guys miss me yet?'
The words making Austin grin as he rereads it over and over again before pocketing his phone, slinking off in the opposite direction.
