Begin your day with the calm reflected on the waters.
Let the clouds roll in like waves on the ocean, bringing new beauty and new opportunities into your life
Hocus Pocus (1993)
magick mulled apple cider
autumn is upon us; this is a recipe for a mulled cider that will bring you magick coziness, prosperity and warmth this season. you will need:
☾ 2 quarts of apple cider (honoring the departed)
☾ ½ cup brown sugar
☾ 1 tsp whole cloves (exorcism, love, protection)
☾ pinch of nutmeg (protection, prosperity)
☾ 3 cinnamon sticks (power, prosperity, passion)
☾ 6-7 whole cardamom pods (love)
☾ 1 orange slice (abundance, happiness)
combine everything in a pot and bring to boiling; cover with lid and simmer on low-medium heat for 20 minutes. stir clockwise now and then. strain out the herbs and enjoy warm on a rainy evening. if you’d like, light brown, black and/or red candles to make your cider drinking into a little ritual.
Who else would hop in without hesitation ❤️

Let nature teach you caution, for just like people, it’s beauty can hide its danger.
Cheap Witches: Ikea edition!
It’s been a while!
I’ve had these photos forever now but here it is, the Ikea witchery post for all you cheap swedish supply dreams. It is important to note that not everything is cheaper at Ikea so shop around a bit but some things are just downright worth it. Example photos and the rest of the goodies under the cut!
What to Ask Tarot
I find that broad, open ended questions work best when consulting a tarot reader, or when you want more than just yes or no. (If you’re reading for yourself and you’re only looking for a simple yes/no answer, then you do you!) As a tarot reader, I find it easier to guide my clients when they ask open ended questions. For example…
Don’t ask “Is he/she/they interested in me?” Ask:
“How should I express my interest?”
“What can I do to attract people that would be romantically interested in me?”
“What is holding me back from finding someone?”
“What do I need to change to find The One?”
Don’t ask “Will I get the job/promotion/award?” Ask:
“How can I make myself stand out as deserving of the promotion?”
“What qualities should I work on to make myself a better job applicant?”
“Where can I improve?”
Don’t ask “Is life going to get better?” (Yes!) Ask:
“What do I need to change to make my life better?”
“Why am I unable to move forward?”
“How can I move past what’s holding me back?”
Don’t ask “Should I leave my partner?” Ask:
“How can I find the problem in my relationship?”
“What do I need to do to overcome this problem?”
“What issue am I refusing to face?”
“How do I achieve a healthy relationship?”
Don’t ask “Will I do well in school?” Ask:
“How can I achieve my goals?”
“What pitfalls might I run into?”
Don’t ask “Should I choose A or B?” Ask:
“What are the risks of each option?”
“What are the benefits of each option?”
“Are there unexpected side effects I should look out for?”
“How do I be confident in my decision?”
Don’t ask “Are my partner and I compatible?” Ask:
“What can I do to work through our differences?”
“Where am I willing to sacrifice and where am I not?”
“What, if any, tension can I expect due to our differences?”
These questions can be tweaked to fit your specific situation! When I’m asked yes/no questions, I try and answer them. But I also elaborate using the alternative questions to provide a more helpful answer so clients can ultimately make their own decisions.
If you don’t know the best questions to ask, you can always just describe your problem and let your tarot reader handle the rest. If you’re reading for yourself, explore different aspects of your problem and see if you can turn it into a what/how/why question.

witch tip
if you cry or yell or have an emotional release of some kind while wearing something, wash it. not only to clean it physically, but to cleanse it of any residual energy that could affect you negatively the next time you wear it.
Idea for witches on a budget! If a spell calls for a certain color candle I like to get a little white tea candles and take the wax out, melt it down and add food dye or bits of crayons then just pour it back into the metal container it came from and let it harden. I like to add drops of essential oils into some of mine as well. You can buy them in packs of like 12 or so for pretty cheap. Hope this helps someone! :)
This is great! The safest method of coloring tea lights is by purchasing candle coloring from a craft store. Crayons often produce a fume when burned that’s unsafe to inhale, and food coloring isn’t designed to burn cleanly (although it isn’t exactly dangerous). What you can also do is paint the outside of the metal tin that holds the tealight for the same color coordinating effect.
Thanks for sharing!
Bonus tip: coloured tape around the metal band can work in a pinch too! Just be sure to always watch your candles (especially if you use washi tape for this) as you wouldn’t want to accidentally light anything else on fire :)
Don’t forget to make new friends
TAKE THE CENTREPIECES FROM WEDDINGS!
No seriously, I get to do this with leftovers from my place of employment. If you are a witch attending a wedding who uses flowers in their magick PLEASE save yourself some money if you can and nab a centrepiece or two. This is a small amount of the one I got a few weekends ago (the rest are drying in other windows) I choose to dry my flowers so they don’t wilt and I can keep them for longer. I am now known at work as the one who takes the extra wedding flowers, it’s been a great time for me.
The hydrangeas I got aren’t pictured because they dried first and currently fill my skull jar named Herman.
This seems obvious but ask first? Seems like bad vibes to steal from a wedding! But also some other people may have a use for them somewhere? Yeah yeah idk what I’m saying
You are correct, ask first. In my case, they’re left at the hotel long after the wedding. It’s easier for us to throw out the extra flowers in our dumpster than for the bridal party to take them home. However, most weddings I’ve been to or that we are the venue for at work often tell guests to take the flowers before the end of the night because they’d go to waste anyways. If you hear that announcement, stick around till the end because many people often don’t take them anyways (but definitely claim one first!)
TLDR: if they don’t announce that you should take the centrepiece, ask. If it’s the next day, specifically at a hotel, you can always ask the staff if the flowers have been thrown out yet
I just did spellwork to ABBA’s greatest hits volume 2 in my kitchen while chugging a Dr Pepper and it is 9am.
It’s nice to be an aesthetic witch sometimes but MAN please do you and craft spells in Star Wars sweatpants sometime like yours truly
witchcraft in a nutshell:
Witchy cleaners to keep ya house fresh with out harsh smells!
So the first things I made were white vinegar sprays, I made two kinds: -Rosemary and Sage -Thyme and Sage
Both have a 2:1 ratio of white vinegar and water and both have a peel and a half of lemon and about two table spoons of sea salt each.
I cleansed the jars with water, then sage smoke, stuffed the herbs and lemon in, sprinkled in the salt, then poured hot water and vinegar in. Give em a shake and charge how you like as you go! I like to mentally say what I want from each item as I place them in the jar.
Let them sit for about a week then strain into a spray bottle and clean some shit. They’re also good for defunking carpets and throw pillows, just spray and let dry in the sun!
The second thing I made was baking soda, salt, and lavender scrub with a lemon vinegar water spray! This one you don’t have to wait to use, just mix it up and go! I used:
- 2-3 cups baking soda ( I just dumped a bunch in eye baling how much I think I might need) - 1-1.5 cups of table salt - Half a cup of non-food grade lavender
I set my intentions as I poured each ingredient in then mixed em up with a good shake. I cleaned my whole bathroom with this one jar and as you can see in the above picture, I still have enough left for touch ups or I can use it on my bedroom carpet. You just sprinkle the mix on the floor, let it sit for a while, then vacuum it up!
And this shit works, here’s my dirty ass tub before:
I sprayed the vinegar down then shook the scrub all over, let sit, then using a scouring pad I cleaned it off and then rinsed it with hot water from the shower and BOOM:
LOOK AT THAT.
I also poured some in the toilet, on the toilet brush, the sink, the floor, basically everywhere. When I was all done I burned some sage and have a beautiful clean bathroom without the smell of bleach in my nose! Yay!
