I have watched you since you were born I wrote your name in my book as you came into this world I have had an eye watching your entire life See now, your name fades with time And now you shall return from whence you came Delivered from this mortal coil Let this apple take your body from you Let my hand guide you to your rightful place For I am your shepherd Blessed are the dead And now you are among them Delivered from this mortal coil
William Bonnor - The Mystery of the Expanding Universe, 1965.
Louis Agassiz - Earth’s Crust with the Evolutionary History of the Species, “Comparative Physiology”, 1851. This diagrammatic history of life, proposed by Swiss-American naturalist Louis Agassiz, is very different from Darwin’s. According to a divine plan, different groups of animals appear in the various “spokes” of the wheel and then go extinct. Humans enter only in the outermost layer, and at the top, as the crowning achievement of all Creation.
Just another neat thing. Stay tuned in for the Tick-tock release date.

I saw this and it reminded me of one of the characters who finds a coin in Tick-tock. It’s not quite as nifty as this one though.
“I become death, the destroyer of worlds.”
This quote inspired some of the writing in Tick-tock. Towards the end of the book, it completed the circuit.
Favorite Opening Line
Do you have a favorite opening line in a book? I think Mr. King wins it for me.
“The man in Black fled across the Desert, and the Gunslinger followed.
