replaying pokemon sun rn and i defo think lillie is a lesbian, particularly i think that she has been exploring with the girls we meet across the game (mainly acerola, plumeria (before you go into poni canyon she calls her “our little princess”) , and mallow , possibly some others) and when she changes her style after the first big battle with lusamine at aether paradise its her like “coming out” … obviously i know there’s canonical reasons for her style change but i just adore this little tidbit of a fan theory

the way that people (mostly men) misinterpret fight club and american psycho is crazy to me. media literacy is actually at an all time low

fight club literally has men beating each other into shit, and saying that a woman is the last thing they need to fix things. they reject women and embrace traditional male hostility- and it all goes crazy… how do people see that as something sigma to look up to? is it just me that sees the satirical elements as glaringly obvious?

american psycho genuinely has some LOL moments its that much of a satirical comedy. a dark comedy, sure, but a comedy nonetheless. in what way is patrick bateman a sigma male icon? i don’t understand what it is that people don’t understand like can someone enlighten me?

It really sucks how 99.999 % of the Stranger Things fandom don’t remember Jonathan Byers crying alone in his bed hugging himself because he thought his little brother was dead and his mom was going insane. It sucks even harder that the Duffer brothers have no recollection of it either.

I SWEAR!!! I'm so fed up with the world hating Jonathan or finding him "boring" when he's so wonderful and complex. Why doesn't anyone see it? Why do you focus on his little mistakes and not on his great successes and his major traumas, but ESPECIALLY on his enormous qualities?! Jon is so kind it's painful.

ok maybe im biased (cus jonathan is one of my favs and im a jancy shipper) but i feel like steve fans just self insert because they find joe attractive. i see comments under edits of nancy/ jancy saying “nobody deserves steve” (as in hes too good for everyone) and like “nancy didn’t deserve him” (past tense)- are we forgetting that in the past when steve and nancy were together he didnt gaf about her missing best friend, was actively not a nice person, etc . when they broke up, his friends pulled that stunt at the theatre which he did nothing to stop and found funny. okay he got his feelings hurt but if he was that good of a guy he could have tried to talk to her

“his character developed sm!!” yes his character developed, but he hasn’t completely changed. his scene with robin was a key one and yes he has changed but hes still not the most understanding of anyone really, ESPECIALLY nancy. after they broke up and remained friends, he literally tells her (while she has a bf ) that he sees her having his kids 😭 like thats so fucking weird how do ppl not see that as weird? and in s5 vol1 he is evidently competing with her long term boyfriend and trying to give her flowers when that is the opposite of what she needs at that time (which jonathan gets because he actually listens to her and understands her)

also i acknowledge the jonathan photography situation. steve was justified in breaking the camera. however afterwards, jonathan apologised and changed, nancy does not gaf she litro forgives him and goes on to date him.

i saw a comment that was like “pls give steve a love interest who deserves him and loves him back!” under a jancy edit. if we care to recap his past love interests, nancy was going through a lot which he actively didnt care about and didnt prioritise, and robin is a lesbian!! obviously its a shame he got rejected but people are acting like she did it on purpose to break his heart or led him on or something shes literally gay omg what do u people want 😭

and i like steve too!! i dont hate steve i just feel like as the most “normal” (and stereotypically attractive…) one out of the group, people obsess over him way too much when his character actually didnt develop that much, he isnt largely understanding of the other characters (blaringly nancy, but also dustin and occasionally robin) , and he wasnt a great person to begin with.

jonathan has his flaws too, but this is a post about steve so

i think the first word-vomit thought about wtialy i wanna put out there is that i never fully understood why hayden called ethel cain an unreliable narrator when it came to preacher’s daughter. lyric details like “i’ve killed before and i’ll kill again” and the whole “was isaiah kidnapping her or did she join him willingly” debate, sure, but those always felt minor. i reeeeally get it now. a knock at the door and tempest really show just how much of this relationship was in ethel’s head. i don’t blame her. i wouldn’t blame a puppy who just wants to cuddle for not understanding what “no” means yet either. that notion, the jules-vaughn-because-half-of-every-relationship-is-in-my-head of it all, was one of the main things that caused me to feel like this album held up a huge, embarrassing mirror to me. lord knows i’ve done the same thing, and honestly, i still do. because i can put all these narratives into my head about what i think i can be for them and how i think we can connect, how i feel like i’d understand them in a way no one could, but at the end of the day, i don’t know that person the way i think i do. i think despite how jaded i feel myself becoming towards love, i still hold onto that childish, fairy-tale image of what love could be like (“love is not enough in this world, but i still believe in nebraska dreaming, cause id rather die than be anything but your girl”). i guess i simply don’t see why it couldn’t be possible. but you’re not exactly watching where you’re going if your head’s in the clouds.
