What an amazing plant…I live in PNW and have never seen this and am always looking for different life and plantlife in the woods

So lichen are sort of plant aligned, they’re actually a symbiotic relationship between an algae and a fungus (and sometimes cyanobacteria are in the mix too, it’s all very complicated). Anyways if you want to see this, look on on logs and stumps and look really close, they’re tiny! A hand lens will help
