After long months of break from WUM...

I started writing some stuff last night, and finished/began a new chapter. :) I am hoping to end the book soon close to 60k.

So last Friday, I forgot to share, but I got to 50k! WOOOOOOT. I have slowly, but gradually been building up my word count, haha. I haven't written much since my sprint to the finish, but I have 52k right now, more than I had last NaNoWriMo when I finished! :D YAY.

NaNoWriMo MeMe Day 7

Day 7 - Where’s your favorite place to hunker down and write?

This year I have been a bit more stern to myself, and mostly sat down at my desk to write, as being on my bed most of the time distracts me. But seeing as I can never get into a comfortable position at my desk, I am usually sitting on my bed with my laptop, or if I really need to put in some word count, I will go hide under the stairs in the closet and write. YES. LIKE HARRY POTTER.

NaNoWriMo Meme Day 6

What is your one biggest stressor related to forcing yourself to write at least 50,000 words in a span of 30 days?

Uhhh, probably the fact that I tend to ignore my writing all day, and only write a couple thousand at night. I procrastinate alot, and tell myself I don't feel like writing, which is my worst problem. But mostly I'm not really stressed on finishing nanowrimo, as I have done it before, and I am pretty confident I can do it again.

Name two songs from your playlist that you feel are connected with your novel in some way, and explain how they are.

It's really hard for me to chose, really. But I think I have to chose Sad Beautiful Tragic by Taylor Swift. It's a really kind of eerie, sadder song. And I think it relates well to what happens with my main character... I think. Haha, I don't really have a second.

Day 4 - What genre is your novel? Why did you pick it?

YA Fantasy/Fiction. One of my favorite and easiest genre's to write. I think each writer works well with a different genre. Just like my friends can write better fantasy than I can. Some of my friends can write better love stories. And other can write better horror stories. I like just regular Fiction/Fantasy. :)

My name is Willow Skye Mason. When I was a little girl my mother took a wolf claw and imprinted a crescent moon into my forehead with it. My scar binds me to a wolf pack. From what I know, a deadly winter is coming and they won't survive it alone. I must help them get to a new territory before the deadly snow comes. I must fulfill the prophecy.

Day 2: What’s the title of your story? Why did you choose the name you did?

My novel is called Willow Under the Moon. Basically the title just revolves around the story. The main character’s name is Willow, and she’s under the moon a lot in the novel, and the novel is also related to moons, I guess because it has wolves in it. Maybe not… but haha, this is the best I can do. xD But I really love my title, and I’m most like never going to change it… :) unless a really epic title comes my way that’s better than what I have now.

NaNoWriMo Meme Day 1

Day 1 - Have you participated in NaNoWriMo before?  If so, which years and what end result?  If not (or even if so, for that matter), what’s your connection to writing?  Why do you want to participate this year?

Yep! This is my second year participating in NaNo. Last year (2011) was my first year participating, and I won with a little over 50,000 words! I was very pleased with myself, and very proud that I actually finished something. I also participated in Camp NaNoWriMo 2012, but I didn’t win. I think candy from Halloween helps during November ;) 

I want to participate this year because of a few reasons. My friends are doing it, and it’s kind of like doing a tradition! If I don’t do it, I feel like I’m missing something. And also, I’ve been wanting to finish my novel, Willow Under the Moon since I got halfway through it during camp! :)
