5 GALLERIES/SHOWS/EVENTS - #1 Foundation Prize at The Photographers’ Gallery
I am not unfamiliar with this gallery so it was always great to return, this specific exhibition I was unaware that it was being shown on that day so it was a good surprise to see as I walked through the glass entrance. My personal favourite of all the artists that were exhibited was definitely Laura El-Tantawy and her powerful photographs documenting the conflict leading up to the revolution in Tahrir Square in January 2011. The collection has been made into a photobook In the Shadow of the Pyramids. I had a thorough look through the book and was astounded by the scenes that were captured.
