i've finally finished reading Deadpool vs Thanos. So does that mean now Deadpool is no longer an immortal? I'm confuse. From what I read, immortal or not, Deadpool will still be able to live for a very very long time like in Cable and Hope met Deadpool in the distance future (did that happen? I haven't really go thru the whole Cable & baby story arc yet). If so, what's the point of Thanos cursing Deadpool with immortality? He will still live forever. 0_o

That time traveling thing where we see Deadpool thousands of years in the future happened in the Messiah Wars, but as for the curse…I don’t know, let’s ask

Yes–the “curse” that Thanos cast on Deadpool that said he would live forever is now lifted.

It’s funny, though…I am not sure why people put THAT much credence in Thanos’s abilities.

When we “killed” Deadpool in issue #250, I got all sorts of people saying “Wade can’t die, Thanos cursed him!” But…Thanos is just a dude. Yeah, he is generally more powerful than Deadpool…but if he could make someone live forever, he probably wouldn’t have died that one time.

I actually did some research into it at once point, because I asked myself “Does Thanos even have the ability to curse someone?” So I checked through bios, looked through Thanos’s extensive list of powers and abilities…and surprisingly enough, there it was, it said he could do curses.

But then I checked the citation, and they quote him “cursing” Deadpool as the proof.

So, I would argue that Thanos was just watching Deadpool on his crystal ball or whatever, and was mumbling to himself “That bastard, curse him, man, totally curse him…” like a weiner.

I would also argue that if he COULD curse Deadpool, that curse would have ended when Thanos died, a while back.

But both of those are moot, as now the curse has been formally lifted.

Deadpool’s next death MAY BE HIS LAST.

I only see one issue with your Deadpool healing rule. Whether a head is chopped off or a head is blown up, the body is the same thing; a complete body from the neck down. How is this body supposed to know to grow a head or not grow a head based on the condition of a part that is not attached to it?

Well, it depends on another thing which (like a healing factor) I don’t believe of in real life, but which is observable real in the Marvel Universe: the existence of a soul. It would basically mean that Deadpool’s “soul” or “essence” would attach itself to the “most valuable” complete part of his body, with the described extra value applied to the head. It’s the part with the soul that really grows back.
