To be honest, I kind of just stopped caring about comics that much. Hell, I only just came back to this Tumblr cause I just got linked to the site. I just found comics to just bring out emotions that I really don't love anymore. Like, I don't want to get worked up about comic creators anymore, I'm past the point of caring about characters in these books, and honestly, I barely buy Marvel anymore. I already tried to talk to HellYeahHeroes about him getting insanely worked up over Cassandra Cain not being in a Death Tournament Robin was in, and he started to throw back my reactions to Avengers Arena at me. At this point, I really don't think comics matter anymore. I just see them as a vehicle for merchandising that's everywhere, and I'm sort of embarrassed over how obsessed I was with them.

Hell, I don't even care about Thunderbolts movie coming out next year.

HellYeahHeroes and Ubernegro getting so worked up over these books kind of make me reflect back at who I was, and I really don't like that version of me anymore. I know some corners of the internet use me as a punchline, and yeah, I was a pretty massive dumbass (probably still am). I don't know if these was a late answer or anything, but at this point, I'm mostly over comics, and I've probably logged into this Tumblr page at most 5 times this year. I just sort of moved on. Maybe those two can move on to and not get so worked up over comics. I kind of wasted a decade of my life on them, and maybe they'll realize the same.

So I just finished Invincible.

I have a bunch of thoughts.

I would say the first 2/3rds of the book is a 9/10 with masterful pacing that I just could not stop reading, but the series in the last 1/3rd just became a 7/10.

It's weird. I think the series worked so well so so many characters and threats that kept things moving, that when it starts killing off so many characters and exclusively focuses on Mark's family, it just feels like an endless crawl. There's a sense at the start of all these villains and threats building, that when they all get anticlimactic deaths and just two threats are being build near the end, it just feels like the book just takes forever to get going again.

Like, I can't stress enough how good I thought the first two compendiums of this series was, but my GOD, the third book just drags so hard. Especially when it feels like Mark goes through so many similar scenarios and falls into the same drama over and over.

I have no idea how the show will adapt the later stuff, but man, it's a wild read, but I almost wished it allowed more elements to cook instead of just wiping the board to be entirely focused on a family drama.
