Over the last few weeks you've seen us go on about the #itsinthebag campaign organized by @sharethedignityaustralia. Between you guys and Windfall we put together 39 bags to donate. That's 39 women who will get one gift this Christmas. A bag full of essentials, and Windfall treats. Women who would otherwise wake up to emptiness. It sounds simple, a bag with toiletries. It is simple but if you have nothing, then a bag full of essentials is everything. The ever so sweet Rachel who visited us today to drop in a bag full of goodies for the #itsinthebag initiative by @sharethedignityaustralia @melbourneperiodproject which supports Australian women this christmas whom are homeless, living in poverty, are high risk or are experiencing domestic violence. Donate a new or second hand bag (clean, not broken and in working order) filled with small gifts that will help make these ladies feel special and loved at Christmas. No one will be buying anything for these women and it can be a particularly difficult time emotionally for them so whilst this may only seem like a small gesture, the impact of receiving love and knowing that someone cares about you is immeasurable. It is about showing her that she matters because everyone deserves to feel that way. . Windfall's vision: We want to get as many people involved as possible so that we can donate more and reach as many women as possible. We will of course be donating stuff ourselves to this initiative, however want to get as many people on board as we can!! We have chosen two charities that are running the same initiative to broaden the spectrum of the women in need that this will go to. We aim to collect all the donations and assemble as many packs as possible and will then split them 50/50 between the two organisations. . You can donate: *A complete pack - A handbag with other items within the bag *A new or second hand handbag on it's own or *Item/s to go inside a bag such as sun glasses, body shop type packs, perfume, makeup, pj's, hats and more (see our FB post) . We can then pair any incomplete bag packs together with items and bags ready for donation. . How can I get involved?
