TAGGING SYSTEM
# window window → this tag is going to be on EVERYTHING. Character references, writing about said characters, other doodles, additional worldbuilding that might not make it into the comic, you get the idea!
# [character name] ww → character tags for Window Window. Since some characters' names are more common and it's not impossible that there are people out there who might share them, I add "ww" at the end so we're all on the same page. (Any resemblances to any real people are COINCIDENCE and UNINTENTIONAL!)
# window window updates → I will be posting announcements for the comic updates (and any updates on the process of putting everything together behind the scenes) here and giving it a separate tag so that, and anticipated update schedules, are easier to find!

I have absolutely no idea how to code but I've seen several friends of mine either have sites there or consider it so My Turn Now)
something I think is so funny is that I do have to specify pronouns for every character because nearly all of them fall somewhere under the trans umbrella

I'm so window window pilled (sentences never before said) so I'm answering w the protags from that!! I might add on w pikmin ocs too but I still need to think on that

DEX:
they are for SURE the type of person to be like "ohh I don't really have a favorite whatever you guys want is fine ahaha!!!!" ESPECIALLY at the start of the story when he's more passive (which he will grow out of) (eventually) but he for CERTAIN has a favorite and that favorite is muffins. I think they're a muffin guy. big fan of blueberries shoutout to whoever invented those
IN TERMS OF THE EFFORT NORMALLY PUT IN. Dex struggles a lot with self care. granted, instrumental ADLs are the absolute worst for them, but even the basics like cooking are overwhelming for him when there's too many steps to something or too much to look out for at once. those "this takes thirty minutes max i PROMISE!!!" recipes will take bot several hours and he'll be exhausted when he's done even if it wasn't "that" complicated
so it's not that he doesn't put in effort! it's more like bot puts in that effort into making simple things. allistic people's typical low effort foods are his High Effort Ones
they WILL go out of their way to make things for other people, though, once they feel they've had enough practice in that given thing for it to come out Edible. (like rice bowls! he's really good with getting rice right which surprises him a lot. pasta, all those types of things. we are Figuring It Out)
ALON:
the fun (covered in BLOOD) thing about being a system is that we get no concrete answers ever on what our favorite anythings are. there are some foods that one alter loves and another HATES and vice versa! what works for Alon et al is finding a middle ground and just saying that That's the favorite -- Alon's personal favorite food would be anything w eggplant in it, but they collectively like spamsilog so they tend to say that instead so they don't Look Suspicious
do they have the energy most days to make all that? HELL no! they CAN cook, they're just exhausted. all the time forever. most of the time it's leftovers or something frozen, they have a lot of those noodle cups you can get at the store for like 50 cents
Alon DOES know how to make soup! and they're REALLY good at it!! thought this question was especially relevant to them bc they're a soup kitchen volunteer!! they love making things for other people, it makes everything feel Worth It and like they're tangibly helping people in some way
it can be simple or complicated, they got this UNLESS Flora is in front. Flora is the exception do NOT let his ass near a stove. it's enrichment for him to set off every smoke alarm in the house
