Steps To Setup Outlook 2007 Email Using IMAP
Microsoft Outlook is a prominent application developed by Microsoft. This email application helps us to send and receive email messages. Steps
Click on Start button on your desktop and after that on Control Panel.
For XP, open Mail icon. For Vista and Windows 7, open the Search box that you find on top of Control Panel and type Mail and this will help you to locate Mail program rapidly. Double click the same when found.
Select E-mail Accounts button.
Below E-mail tab, select New button and this will help you to add your 1& 1 email account.
Select the check box for Manually configure server settings or additional server types and select Next.
Choose Internet Email type of account and select Next.
Choose IMAP below Account Type drop down menu.
You can provide your name as you wish others to see in the email.
Provide your 1 & 1 email address.
For Account Type drop down, check that IMAP is picked.
Incoming mail server can be given as imap.1 and 1.com
Outgoing mail server can be given as smtp.1 and 1.com
For User Name, give your full 1 & 1 email address.
Provide password for the email account.
If you don't wish to enter password every time, select the check box labeled Remember Password.
Select More Settings button.
From the new window that opens up, pick Outgoing Server tab.
Select the check box My outgoing server requires validation and pick Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
On top of the window, pick the Advanced option.
Provide the Incoming server port as 993 and from Use the following type of encrypted connection section, select SSL.
Next to Use the following type of encrypted connection, select TLS and provide 587 as Outgoing server port.
You can choose OK and save the Outlook setting.
Click Test Account Settings to send a test mail. If it is successful, you can click Close and click Next and Finish.
