New Warcraft might be even worse when it comes to the racism. Like they've killed virtually all the PoC coded monsters with the only ones left alive like Baine being depicted as one of the only "good ones" because they reject the "savage": ways of their people and side with white humans.

Heck they literally demonzied and killed a real world benevolent Loa in 2021 during a so-called neutral expanison, which in modern WoW just means an Alliance/White story with the minority coded characters absent or cast as villains.

you're very right ☹️ i don't know that it's worse than before (because the dehumanization of the amani trolls being depicted as "witchy", cannibalistic and "savage" is truly horrifying), but it's certainly not better in many aspects

Don't forget how racist the lore of Warcraft is, they've doubled DOWN on the blatantly minority coded monsters are evil stuff since World of Warcraft began.

OH absolutely!!!! when i first heard of the amani trolls and blood elves lore + seen how belf characters spoke about the trolls prior to midnidght, i was literally flabbergasted?? the amani trolls (and the trolls in general...) were very clearly full of racist stereotypes, AND they were deeply dehumanized by the races that fit into eurocentric beauty standards.

this is why i genuinely don't fw people who say they miss the old world of warcraft, bc what do you miss exactly? racism??
