I love that Drizzt just seems to straight up never find out that the Silence of Lolth happened. There was this months-long period in the 1370s where Lolth fell entirely out of contact with her clerics and it shook udadrow society to its foundations and directly led to the complete destruction of at least one major city. Menzoberranzan held off a siege by duergar and infernal forces while simultaneously putting down an attempted coup, all while having zero functioning clerics. And Drizzt has gone no-contact so hard that he not only didn't notice at the time but seems to have never heard about it at any point.

felt something hearing Karlach say that when Gortash sold her to Zariel he said she would be able to withstand Zariel's new machine, "and he was right." beyond the betrayal, it hurts that he made the correct assessment because he knew her. he understood her. he was aware of (and respected?) her strength and indomitable spirit. maybe that made the betrayal easier. he told himself "she can handle it" and he was right.
