Corpse Party~Forever Damned || Raven
"Rachel, are you awake?" Kori perched herself atop her sister’s windowsill and wrapped gently against the glass. Pausing between each rep, she glanced down at the paperdoll clutched firmly in her left hand.
After a few seconds, the window slid open a tad.
"I have something to show you; I think you may find it most interesting." Shutting the window with her foot, Kori ghosted over Raven’s carpeted floors and dangled the paper dolls before her eyes.
"It is the “Sachiko Ever After" charm originating from Japan. Have you heard of this?"
Raven had been sitting cross legged on her bed, utterly absorbed in Harper Lee's novel 'To Kill a Mockingbird'. Her head lifted up slowly to face her excitable friend, her eyes locking on her with a look of mild uninterested and annoyance, before sighing and placing her book down, gently making her page with a bunny rabbit bookmark Kori had given her a few years back.
"Sachiko ever after? Odd name...I don't believe I have ever heard of it." Raven tapped her chin lightly, eyeing the paperdoll Kori held in her hand. "What does it do? is it a protection charm? spirit charm? good luck charm?" She said, a slight sarcastic tone was hidden in her voice.
"What is the little paperdoll for?" She asked, one delicate eyebrow raised in curiosity.
"…Perhaps, if I continue to dream…my time will come as well."
"Or is it that it is never meant to be at all?"
"If you dwell on what makes your heart ache, it will never heal."
Raven smiled sadly, the smell of the sea air was refreshing…yet the memories that she associated with the salty sent of the ocean made her thoughts linger to a more painful thoughts. Rae shook her head slightly I attempt to rid herself of these shadows of her heart, her friend needed her.
The soft foot-falls crunching against wet sand made her lower her head. Despite herself, Starfire managed a tiny smile as the scent of lavender grew stronger. For as long as she could remember, there was one thing that never failed.
And that was her sister. Her best friend.
"I know. And because I know better, you would think that I would not succumb to it as often as I do." She brought a hand against her skin and held it there, her gaze lingering on the moon.
After a moment’s deliberance, Starfire sat down on the shore, seeing the voice of a familiar face.
"You would be proud of me, Raven. I have managed to hold it together all this time…"
‘None of them have ever worked out in the end.’
The statement remained unsaid.
‘What have I done to deserve this?’
Raven sighed, the sight of her best friend so broken just ripped her heart in two. The pair had been through so much together, through heartbreaks and laughter, thick ad thin. The sorrowful look about starfire was so unnatural, it was as if someone had ripped the passion right out of her.
"Kori, have done nothing to deserve what hand you have been dealt." Raven said simply, her usual even tone was almost lost in the sound of crashing waves. "You don't have to be so strong all the time, Kori. Emotion is dangerous contained. Even more dangerous then emotion let loose." She smirked slightly, it was so cruelly ironic coming from her.
'You are such a hypocrite, Rachel....'
"Do not let the past shape your future, just let it be the guide..." Raven took to graceful strides forward, so she was now standing at her sisters side. Rave mimicked Starfire's gaze, her own deep purple eyes settling on the pale moon in the sky.
"I am always just a call away, if you need to talk. Sometimes that's all you need." She murmured, her long cloak fluttering thin the breeze. Standing next to Starfire, raven couldn't help but notice how her form mirrored Star's shadow. A tiny smile tugged on her lips.
'I'll always be right behind you, Kori. Though not by blood, you are my sister. And the only true friend I have ever had.'
"…Perhaps, if I continue to dream…my time will come as well."
"Or is it that it is never meant to be at all?"
"If you dwell on what makes your heart ache, it will never heal."

“Seems as if we keep running into eachother.” Dick twirled his escrima stick and smirked, before looking down a dark alley & smiling broadly.
“You know you never were that good at this game, Rae.”
“I. Found. You.”
Raven's eyes snapped up, her dark, indigo eyes flickering over his face in a quiet study. "Maybe I never aimed to win the game." She said simply, a shadow of a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.
"Maybe there is a thrill in being cornered?"
