“ cinder, ” the assassin was pacing around, metal legs thumping along hardwood floor as he starts to think. tongue darts across chapped lips & fingers weave through sterling crown before storm cloud hues look towards the raven haired woman in front of him. “ this is all a bad idea, you know that, cinder. c’mon, let’s just . . run. leave emerald, roman, neo, all this behind & start all over again. we don’t have to do this anymore. ” he understands her goal of being the fall maiden, but was it really worth it if there was a possibility of her getting KILLED?

the assassin isn’t the type to grow soft, no. the world wasn’t soft with him & it hardened him up instead like steel, yet something . . something about cinder definitely made him actually believe there was a purpose around. something to fight for.

she's sure to wake up before him to grab everything for his birthday surprise. there's a long box on the table with a leather jacket inside on the desk. there's also a small rabbit in a cage with food & everything else mercury could possibly need to take care of his new pet. she crawls across the bed to him, lips gently pressing kisses along his jaw until they meet his own as crimson wings ripple behind her. 'time to wake up, birthday boy.' (i know it's late i'm sorry but here bb! <3)

holy shit. HOLY SHIT. did she get him a bunny rabbit? right. no. he’s gotta act cool. he was a nineteen year old adult. adults don’t get excited over a bunny. cracking a sterling eye open, he looks at her with a lopsided smirk. “ morning, my queen. what’s that? ” trying to contain his excitement, he acts cooly looking at the small grey bunny rabbit in it’s cage. act cool, merc, act cool. “ a bunny? c’mon, cinder, i ain’t a little boy. buuut. . ” he reaches up kissing her lips gently. “ i do appreciate the gift, thanks, cinder. ” & now, he’s gotta make sure she is NOT in the place for him to enjoy his time with the bunny.

she can’t help but feel loved when he calls her his queen. they may fight &. argue a lot over petty things , but they always make up &. come back to each other in the end. ❛ i may not be a fan of some of your pranks , but i’m learning to control my temper. ❜ the maiden smirks when she pulls back from him , pointing at the square box on her desk. ❛ when i heard you were coming back , i ordered pizza for you. pineapple , your favorite. it just got here before you did. ❜

“ oh c’mon, the pranks were funny. ” a small laughter & it dies down, ash grey brow arching quizzically. a surprise? what’s best PIZZA? on top of that pineapple pizza? “ aw, pineapple pizza for me, babe? you’re a catch. a good one too. ” again, he’s wrapping his arms around her, bending down to put a chaste kiss on her lips & pulled back with a bigger grin. “ you know me too well, my queen. ”

The hug was much appreciated, even if it did make him sneeze, she considered that her little selfish act for the month. She followed after him, plopping down beside him, hands wringing excitedly. “Can I at least make you something special to eat? I’ve never gotten the chance to make someone a birthday dinner before…”

“ dinner? y’know i could never say no to dinner. i’m starvin’ ” another grin cracks his face & folding his arms behind him, he lets out a relaxed sigh. it felt nice to be back, especially with his girlfriend by his side. “ any creeps been creepin’ on ya during work? need me to kill someone? ”

❛ it’s alright , we’ll figure something out. ❜ the maiden did miss her boyfriend in his absence , but she knew he’d return when he was ready. though she wishes he hadn’t left , cinder can’t fault him for needing time to figure things out. her hands rest atop his arms around her middle , her voice soft when she presses a kiss against his cheek. ❛ i knew you’d come back to me sooner or later. ❜

“ of course i‘d come back for my queen. ” another kiss to her forehead as fingers gently ghost on her crimson feathers. closing ivory lids, he hums a little, lips still pressed onto milky forehead. “ y’know, thought ya wouldn’t want me back for all those pranks i been pullin’ on ya. but glad to know ya wanted me back. i’ll always come back for you, cinder. always. ” but, mercury being mercury, he lightly pushes her away, another smug look. “ but, for now i’m kinda hungry. got me anything? ”

leiru was the same as usual. so excited, so cute. grinning, he wrap strong arms around the feathered faunus, burying his face in her feathers before giving a big sneeze. letting go, he grabs a bottle of root beer, cracking it open & lounged on the couch mechanic legs spread out. “ s’allright. you don’t need to plan somethin’ special for me. i got you, don’t i? all i can ask for. ”
