Arya and Edric’s first meeting wasn’t their last by a long shot. A few years later, while travelling back from Braavos, Arya came across a familiar face walking alone, just like herself. When she spoke up and he looked back at her, it ignited a little fire in her; seeing a familiar face, the possibility of no longer travelling alone. She had been alone for weeks now, and she missed seeing faces and being able to talk to someone. Edric gave her hope.
They stayed together through the whole war against the Others. It wasn’t easy, it wasn’t beautiful, it was gruesome and bloody, and they lost so many people... Arya herself got many scars across her body that will stay with her until she dies, and Edric wasn’t any better. Though she could hide her scars beneath her clothing, Edric wasn’t so lucky. The one across his neck, the one he took for her when she was trying to save her sister, the one that nearly cost him his head, will be there forever. And Arya will always look at it to remind herself how happy she is that it’s all over. How happy she is that they are alive. How happy she is to have him by her side.
Her adult life wasn’t what Arya expected to happen, but it happened, and she will never regret it. Somehow, after all the sorrow and tragedy of her life, she found happiness. Not in a place, but in a person. And that person was Edric Dayne. A boy she once thought she would forget after being kidnapped by the Hound, but they found each other again, and after that, they never let go. Not really. They stayed, they grew closer, they fought together, and they healed each other’s wounds. Since he had visited Winterfell during the war, she visited Starfall afterwards and she loved it.
She once thought marriage wasn’t for her, that she was too ugly, too manly, too... much. But Edric showed her that she wasn’t. That she was perfect the way she was, that she was beautiful even if she couldn’t see it. That he loved her scars because they reminded him of the fire in her, of how fiercely she fought for people. Being this or that didn’t change the fact that, for him, she was perfect just as she is.
Somehow, he made his way into her heart and stayed there. And she let him. Her heart was his, and his was hers. And that’s it, as easy as it can be.

Jon could see fear and fire in her eyes. Blood ran down her white throat from where the point of his dirk had pricked her. One thrust and it's done, he told himself. He was so close he could smell onion on her breath. She is no older than I am. Something about her made him think of Arya, though they looked nothing at all alike. "Will you yield?" he asked, giving the dirk a half turn. And if she doesn't?
Ygritte watched and said nothing. She was older than he'd thought at first, Jon realized; maybe as old as twenty, but short for her age, bandy-legged, with a round face, small hands, and a pug nose. Her shaggy mop of red hair stuck out in all directions. She looked plump as she crouched there, but most of that was layers of fur and wool and leather. Underneath all that she could be as skinny as Arya.
I just saw a post making parallels between characters of house stark. And they have given all of Arya's canon parallel characters (lyanna, ned and jon) to sansa. Saying their parallels are 'underrated' and didn't even mention their numerous parallels to arya. Which is laughable. (does non-existent and forced reached mean underrated now?)
Because in the text of the books, Arya is the one constantly compared to lyanna, arya is her fathers daughter in all senses and arya and jon have parallel journeys. Why do these people want to take elements from aryas story and claim its about sansa? Im so confused. Probably they don't like sansas canon story and thats why steal from arya.
This post also say that arya is not an heir. Which is outright lie. The whole a dance with dragons books northern plot revolves around aryas claim to winterfell. She is a very important heir. And northern lords are marching in aryas name as valiant neds precious little girl. It is just a hate post against arya.
Also their parallels with sansa are fan made but with arya those parallels made by multiple characters in the text. So obviously aryas parallels are actually important to the story and authentic.
The people who say that sansa and jeynes bullying of arya and the effects it had on arya's psyche doesn't matter because arya has bigger things to worry about are the same people who say that depression doesn't matter because war crimes are happening in the world.

another session of just me cleaning my drafts: look, i know i give the guy a lot of shit, but i'm still able to recognize that he is one of the best fathers by far, in comparison to other men in the books... so this is my olive branch to ned stark (also the "arya gives her father flowers picked by her as a present" moment is one of my favourites)
