Zeppelin knew he could trust Hayden. He had no doubt about it in the back of his mind. Looking at the other with a soft smile he nodded and wounded his arms tightly around him. “That all actually sounds pretty good. I can’t wait to try them all.” He spoke as he turned the other brunette around and pressed against his back side. “We’ll travel then. I’ll have fun carrying you all over the place.” He bantered the other as he placed a kiss to his neck. “Handle you? Yes I’m sure, I’m a bit worried about you being able to handle me. What if I get too excited? I’ve never actually you know slept with anyone before.” 

Hayden grinned as he felt Zeppelin step behind him and press against his back side. “I don’t think you’ll be able to carry me Zep. I’m pretty muscular,” he grinned. Hayden was usually with much smaller guys than himself that he could throw around and pick up. He hoped he could still do that with Zeppelin, but the other was pretty muscular as well. “I can handle you. I have no doubt about it,” Hayden answered as a smirk spread across his lips. “Don’t worry about if you think your hurting me or not. I like things a little wild and rough.”

Zeppelin couldn’t help but to shut Hayden up with his lips. He knew he was trying to make him feel better but now wasn’t the time for I’m sorries. “H, no more of that.” He remarked as he heard the small sound emit from the others mouth when their bodies touched. “Life is too short not to give you a chance. To not give us a chance. I can’t promise to give you a tomorrow, a week, or even a year, but I can promise to give you now.” He replied as his hand came up to caress Hayden’s face before lifting his hand and kissing his knuckles. Looking into his eyes he smiled softly. “I took one look at you and I knew I failed myself for developing a crush.” He chuckled softly as he listened to the others second omission. “She showed you me but never showed me you. I find that unfair.” He commented with a half frown and leaned into the guy. “Something we share in common. What are you cooking for us tonight, baby?” He asked with a hint of interest. “I hope it’s rather filling. If I am living by each day looks like all those calories will be burned off rather quick after I get finish with taking ever ounce of you I can.” He spoke quietly before pressing his lips to Hayden’s ear. “All I need to know is if you prefer my bed or the couch.” 

Hayden had been through loss so knew what it was like first hand to experience that emotion. He wanted to let Zeppelin know that he could confined in him if he wanted. The brunette nodded his head as the other managed to get out that he couldn’t promise forever, but could promise here and now. “That’s all I’m asking for. I’m simply asking for here and now,” he confessed. Hayden looked at Zeppelin and smiled as he called him baby. “Today a tray bake, tomorrow I might try and casserole and really spoil you,” he chuckled. Hayden couldn’t feel movement down below as Zeppelin talked about taking every inch of him. “I prefer anywhere, so we’ll be good,” he chuckled. “I’m wild and erratic. Do you think you’ll be able to handle that?”

Zeppelin sniffled as he listened to Hayden. “Like the natural order. The way that life wants things to work out for us.” Brushing back the falling tears he looked at the guy from him he caressed his face pecking his lips once more. “My whole crew knows I’m gay. It’s not a secret to them. They just don’t question after what happened when I lost him, when we lost him. He wasn’t just someone I loved, he was a part of the team, my partner on shift.” He spoke as he looked into Hayden’s eyes. “They have been quieter around me the last couple days, but it may be the fact that I have a picture printed out that I took of us at the club the other night that I don’t remember taking and it’s now hanging proudly in my work changing locker. I may have seen a few of them smile, I knew I wanted you then Hayden, but I couldn’t allow it to happen.” He whispered as he tugged the buff brunette closer. “Now, now my mind has changed. I want my shot with you before it’s too late. Life is too short for some of us with careers like mine. I don’t want to waste my time thinking about the what ifs when I can have you now, to myself, like I want.” He continued as he smiled and pecked the other guys lips once more. “I like our plan then. I’m sorry if you were worried. I’ll make sure my hands make go work on working all that build up stress and tension out of you.” He smirked in reply. “Let’s go home, I’m not letting you leave my arms tonight.” He chuckled as he held Hayden’s hand walking away from the scene of his teams prying eyes on them. 

Hayden knew what lost felt like. He had only been a young teenager when his mother passed away. It was an awful time for him. He had been extremely close with his mum growing up, even more so than his dad. It took a toll on him growing up He had a perfect relationship with his mum, to have nothing at all with her. “I’m sorry you went through that. I know how tough it is to lose someone. It’s hard to get past it.”  Hayden stumbled forward and made a small sound as their bodies touched one another’s. “If your willing to give us a chance, I’m willing to give us a chance too,” he admitted. “You know I think your handsome,” he admitted. “When Winnie showed me a picture of you, I kept talking about how hot you were,” he chuckled. Hayden wrapped his arm around Zeppelin’s shoulder, pulling him closer to the other. “Little do you know, I’m a pretty good cook.” He admitted. “I can be a little more charming, and make you something nice,” he teased.

Looking at Hayden in that shirt he bit his lip. Had Winnie been handing him Hayden’s drinks he bought the whole time he wondered as the comment was made. “Is Winnie going to be okay with that? Are you sure about that? I don’t know if I am. If we leave together what does this mean? I don’t know what will happen. What if I try something else that doesn’t end in words? What if I break my own rules?” He Zeppelin questioned as he looked at the other guy as he watched the hand rub his shoulder. “Y-Yeah good. All good. Nothing is ruined besides the thoughts in my head. I just got to get them out. I’m not supposed to be having them.” 

“Winnie can look after herself more than I can. She parties all the time.” Hayden confessed. Hayden attended a lot of nights out because of the blonde-haired femme. She liked drinking and partying, and more than anything she was a sociable girl. She liked having a good time, and letting her hair down, not giving a damn what anyone thought of her. “Don’t feel bad, you are allowed to say whatever you want,” he confessed with a shrug. “Don’t worry about it. We are all good, I promise.”

Zeppelin: When neither of you will be touching him. Lay a finger on him I dare you. Hayden and I are heading back to the fire station now so I can change and then my apartment will be a do not disturb zone for the rest of the day, right babe?

Zeppelin: Winnie if you don't mind, I would love if you kept Ares company for the time being.

Zeppelin: On another note. Do not question me.

Ares: Questions will be asked.

Ares: Is this you staking a claim for someone you claimed is just a friend when you're not 'gay'

Ares: Are you making me homeless already?

Ares: You are a catch. Let someone tell you less. I am a catch. Perfect. See Zepp, this is what it's like to meet someone and connect.

Ares: Tell me about it. I might as well have cancelled my birthday and let her call it her pity party instead.

Winnie: I'm not heading home for a bit. I need to be out. I'm sick of being in doors all day.

Winnie: I'll keep him company. I'm sure he'll love me.

hayden: No it’s fine. Sorry. I didn’t mean to snap. I’ve tried, that’s all. He doesn’t listen.

Zeppelin felt the tears escape his eyes as he broke the kiss. “I-I’m sorry I tried to push you away. I, just, I only ever loved one person and the moment I told him, the moment he and I shared my first kiss he died after. I failed, I was too late and I have tried to forgive myself for letting him down. It wasn’t fair for you to be burden with someone that hasn’t loved themselves, that hasn’t been able to face his own image in fear of what he became. I just want someone to love me besides my mama.” He whispered.” He breathed out searching Hayden’s eyes. Dabbing at his eyes with his work shirt he bit his lip. “You and your willingness to make a first date special to me.” He replied as the sadness went away. “Can we skip those awkward first date vibes and plan on just call it a night. Captain told me to head back and clock out. If you want to drive me back to the station I can change and give you a quick tour of the place, perhaps after we could head back to my place and cook something and just lay on the couch for a bit. I’ll hold you awhile.” 

Hayden felt bad that Zeppelin blamed himself over what happened to his previous partner. Hayden knew there was nothing he could do or say to make the other feel better about it, but he wanted Zeppelin to know that he was there for him, and would allow Zeppelin to talk about him whenever he wanted. “You can’t blame yourself for something happening to him. I know it’s harder said than done. I blamed myself about my mom for years, but sometimes things happen, and we can’t stop them. We just have to grow from them, and learn from the experience. “A relaxed night sounds awfully good to me. I can take you out some other time if that’s what your feeling,” Hayden admitted. The brunette found Zeppelin’s hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. “Come on. I’ll take you back to the station. You are probably exhausted, you hunk of a firefighter,” he teased.

Zeppelin watched as Hayden ran forward to hug him and wrapped his arms around his waist. “Baby.” He whispered as he let the other hug him. “I take it back, I take back what I said. I think I want to try. I think I want to be with you.” He spoke softly as he held the other closely as his eyes watered. “I don’t want to wait until it’s to late like I did with the last person I loved. I don’t want to die knowing I never took a shot with someone that actually is worth it.” He said as he cupped Hayden’s face softly. “Hayden, there is no date after my shift. I am gay and I want to be open and gay with you.” He whispered quietly kissing the guy.

Hayden held the other in his arms tightly. Hayden tried to keep a positive outlook on life but for someone his age, he had been through a lot, and he didn’t want anything happening to anyone else he liked, or loved.  The brunette felt his heart speed up a little as Zeppelin told him that he wanted to try things out with him again. “I’m bisexual, but I get where your going with this,” he grinned. He cupped the other’s face, pressing his lips against the dark-haired boys lovingly. “Let me take you out somewhere then, if we’re trying this out. Let me create a good date for us,”.

zeppelin: You don’t have to be used to it. You can always check him into rehab. As someone that was once studying to become a therapist I think could help refer a couple of great in patient treatments.

zeppelin: You can always text or call me. I’m not cutting you off from being my friend. Just understand that, that is the furthest it’ll go.

hayden: He won’t go into rehab. I do get carers checking in on him from time to time, but he won’t be away from me. As much as he complains about me, he wouldn’t leave me.

hayden: That’s fine. I appreciate your honestly. I’m here for you too.

Ever since that night at the club and the text to the group chat Zeppelin remained to himself. He hadn’t even returned home and stayed at the firehouse sleeping on the cots they provided to rest on during long shifts and between calls. Having lied about the date with a random woman and seeing Ares text he couldn’t bare walking into a scene like that. Having been on a fire call that evening Zeppelin’s captain sent him in alone to get a mom and daughter out of a house that was going up in flames. Sending the mom out and going back in to get the daughter, he got her to safety. Seeing the daughter was crying about her stuffed bunny he got the permission to run back in to collect it. Running up stairs to grab it he went to run back down stairs and was blocked off by the fire. Slamming the door shut he laid a cloth in front of it and radioed the chief. “Captain, I need another exit point, main stair well is engulfed. Should I try the window?” He asked. Hearing the radioed yes Zeppelin began busting the glass to one of the second story windows and climbed onto the roof, radioing back in he frowned. “Capt, get someone to call my emergency contact.” He whispered before he jumped and landed on his side feeling a bit of pain. Seeing the help rush over he bit his lip as they checked him out. Once he was cleared he walked in the blanket to speak to another firefighter when he saw Hayden and his eyes watered. “I didn’t think you would come.” He whispered. 

Hayden couldn’t believe what he was seeing. The brunette had been called by one of the firefighter team members, being asked to come to the scene where their was a fire going on. The thought of something happening to Zeppelin was scary. The muscular brunette left his father’s home and rushed to the scene, not going near the fire, but talking to one of Zeppelin’s team members.  Hayden looked at the handsome firefighter as the two of them made contact with each other and rushed forward, wrapping his arm around Zeppelin’s frame, pulling him into a big hug. “I hate that this is your job,” he mumbled against the other’s neck, as he didn’t let him go right away. It worried Hayden that Zeppelin put his life on the line every single day. He was a hero to many people. He was saving lives, and risking his own life in the process. “I love the uniform, but the thought of seeing you hurt,” he shuddered, unable to carry on with that sentence. “I can’t lose another person.”

zeppelin: I hope it’s going well with your dad, and I hate to do this, but I have to cut this whatever we had the other night off… I’m sorry. I got this date with this girl one of the guys from the station is friends with and thought I would give it a shot. 

zeppelin: I hope to see you around. Please keep the shirt. 

hayden: It’s going fine with my dad. I’m used to him and his ways.

hayden: oh...okay. I was hoping we could still keep in contact, but if you want to cut things off, I can’t tell you what to do. Best of luck with everything.

Zeppelin was outside and bent over breathing heavily. Part of him knew it was time for him to move on. It had been a few years now since Gavin passed. It wasn’t the man that he loved that held him back. It wasn’t even the fact that he gay that was a factor anymore. It was him. Watching Gavin draw his last breath in front of him knowing he was too late in telling him he loved him, gave him less hope. If romance or anything pertaining to more was something Hayden was wanting he couldn’t be that guy. Not when he never knew what time to take steps to different levels and not when his job could have him ending up like Gavin. He wouldn’t allow someone to hurt the way he had. Feeling the tears in his eyes well he wondered why he was damaged the way he was. From the burns from his father to the burns to the accidents that tragic day. He felt the hand on his shoulder and shook his head. “No. Not you. I just..Look Hayden you’re attractive and all and I got caught up with the drinks and all, but I’m pretty sure I’m not into guys.” He lied as he looked at the other guy after he wiped his eyes. “It doesn’t change that I want to be friends and continue being friends with you.” He replied with a curt nod. “For what it’s worth you are a great kisser, but I’m sorry I led you on. I think I am going to call one of my department guys to come pick me up and take me home and then close the tab for the night.”

Hayden knew that he could be a little too full on either through confidence or experience. He knew some people weren’t as comfortable with doing things from the get go, so it did make him nervous as Zeppelin walked away from him, as he didn’t want to cause any hurt or doubt. The brunette cocked his head to the side as Zeppelin told him that he believe he wasn’t into guys. Hayden didn’t believe that. He had noticed how the other had kissed him and grabbed him, but gave Zeppelin the benefit of the doubt. “I haven’t drunk. We can leave Winnie here, and I’ll order a taxi for the two of us. I only came because Winnie said you would be here, and I wanted to get to know you some more.” Hayden brought a steady hand to Zeppelin’s shoulder, giving it a gentle rub. “We all good though? I don’t wanna ruin our friendship,”.

Zeppelin: I hope him and his dad is okay.

Ares: Torres I am disappointed in you. Honestly man, you're a little bitch. There is nothing wrong loving or liking who you like. Hell I like both genders, but I have a preference for girls. I mean if you are straight fine, I guess I'll have Winnie and him over tomorrow night for some fun for my own. Now that Hayden is the least of your worries you shouldn't care should you? He's hot and well if this bucket list hookup goes well with Winnie today, I don't see why I shouldn't mark off my threesome one with her as well. Judging by her remarks and your comments on her she is pleasant company.

Ares: If only I was a girl babe. I couldn't have exactly decked her. I should've sent that bat shit crazy girl after her though. The one that was rumored to attached her friend to handcuffs and dragged her out in snow. Now that would've been a fight worth seeing.

Ares: Can't wait beautiful.

Winnie: He'll be fine Zeppelin. It's been like that with him and his dad for years.

Winnie: I'd already hooked up with Hayden in the past. Him and I don't touch each other. We've made out, but never done anything past that.

Winnie: I however, am a catch. Anyone is lucky to experience anything with me.

Winnie: Some people are far too entitled for their own good. Some people love to play victim. I really hate girls that do that. It makes me cringe.

Looking at her Zeppelin shook his head. “You have no idea what you are talking about do you?” He asked as he eyed her before he got lost within the music and began sinking back into Hayden before turning to gaze into his eyes. Yanking away after a moment he looked at Hayden out of confusion and backed up a bit as his lips trembled. “I-I’m sorry.” He whispered.” As he shook his head turned running out the front door leaving the other guy there after he had kissed him the way he had. 

Hayden watched as the dark-haired boy pulled himself away from him and made a face, not sure if he had done anything wrong, or pushed Zeppelin a little too far. “It’s fine. Don’t worr-,” he stuttered out, watching as the tall, dark and handsome male walked away from him. Winnie walked over to Hayden, knocking his arm. “Go after him,” she whispered harshly, allowing Hayden to jog to catch after him. The muscular brunette jogged to keep up with the other, putting his arm around Zeppelin’s shoulders. “Hey,” he said, trying to stop him from walking any further. “Did I push you too far?” He asked. “Sorry, your really hot. I didn’t mean to rush you into anything. I just wanted to double check your okay,” he admitted. Holding the other’s arm. “I hope this doesn’t change anything. I’d still like to get to know you more,”.

Zeppelin: We are not cute together... stop that. Has anyone heard from him? I am getting worried..

Zeppelin: Ares... real class man.

Ares: They really would be. I would have to agree.

Ares: That is kind of you. What would you would have done?

Ares: I think I can do that. Patience is key.

Winnie: His safe with his dad. I'd worry about his dad, not him. He'll be fine.

Winnie: I would have made her life hell. I would have probably bloodied up her face. I don't take any prisoners.

Zeppelin was letting it all loose as he felt his head swim. Chuckling at the compliment as he felt the arms wrap around his neck he was unknown to Hayden being motioned to come join them. “I’m not always uptight you know, I can have fun.” He spoke his voice carrying above the music. Feeling as if it was the music was the reason they was being carried back he felt his back hit a broad chest and his insides flutter as the hand placed itself on his waist and the other on his stomach. Feeling his hips grind back into other male he felt the low moan escape his lips. Bitting his lip in confusion he hesitated for a split second looking at Winnie getting ready to pull away. She set him up, it was a game. Turning his head the drinks that he had coursed through him and relaxed as he grounded his hips back in time to the music. Hayden looked stunning under the lights on the dance floor. “Would have pulled away if I wasn’t.” Waving his hand at Winnie to wave her off slightly annoyed that he was another one of her games, he then brought the same hand up caressing Hayden’s face before turning to face the other pressing a heated kiss to his lips gripping the back of his neck drawling him in closer as he continue the movement of his hips into the others. 

“I have no doubt that you are fun. I think I’m not the person you want to be dancing with, that’s all.” The femme answered. The platinum blonde-haired girl bit down on her bottom lip as she watched Zeppelin’s back hit Hayden’s muscular chest and lent forward to kiss his cheek. “I think it’s him you want to be seen with,” she whispered, pulling back with a smirk. The only part of her body holding Zeppelin’s now was her hands, holding his much larger ones. The more that Winnie pulled away, the closer Hayden got to Zeppelin. Winnie managed to escape and Hayden felt the dark-haired boy turn in his arms. He was able to make eye contact with the other as their hips continued to move in sync with one another, and in time to the music. HIs lips parted, allowing the heated kiss to happen. His free hand rounding the other’s body, keeping a steady hand on the other’s back as their lips moved in sync with one another. Hayden was getting lost into the kiss. He thought the other was extremely hot. The kiss and the feeling over Zeppelin’s hips moving in time with his own was driving him crazy.
