{♛} Long overdue for some downtime

Not used to such frivolities, Kimiko fussed when she and her brother were told to attend the grandiose party in Altum. She was absent the first two days, worried that her kingdom would run a muck if both the king and queen were absent, so she stood by her lonesome writing up emergency measures in case such an unfortunate event should happen.

In the end, Hotaru refused to continue attending the party alone, so she too was dragged to the castle. The queen watched as her brother kept to himself in the back. She shook her head at him but he merely ignored her. Being the half of the duo that does all the talking, she decided to attempt socializing with the other party goers.

And so, there she stood, standing by herself picking at the appetizers on her plate, waiting for someone to converse with her. She was queen. Why should she have to be the first one to strike up a conversation if it didn’t benefit her?

As trained as he was in classical waltz, as was every person of the royal court of Altum, not enough training in the world was enough to escape the scathing consequence of aching feet, it had been a bit too long since the knight had donned his dancing shoes and he was definitely paying the price. Bidding his latest female endeavour of the night a quick farewell, a passive broad from Sylva, Sebastian made his way over to the banquet table, hoping to regain enough energy to keep the night going until the sun rose; the only way to properly party, of course. Altum, being the wealthiest region, not to mention the most self-indulging, certainly did not skimp out on providing a handsome and vast table of delicacies, King Mere always did have good taste, something the blonde admired the old monarch for. Eyeing the plethora of morsels with picky, inquisitive eyes, his sight fell upon something far more delicious than any food. She looked far too young to be a queen, though Sebastian was never one to assume royalty regardless of age or stature. What he could make out, however, was that she was definitely a fire-type, so most likely Ustrinaian, and that she was currently unoccupied by any other person; which seemed more ridiculous than her being a queen. Fitting on his most charismatic smile, he approached Kimiko without any sort of fault or hesitation, "How is that a woman as gorgeous as yourself is standing here by her lonesome?"

While sitting on the bench, she was coming up with different scenarios that could happen. First, one of the kingdoms could get into a fight and the banquet could be thrown into chaos. Which was.. Not exactly an option that Anais loved, but she had to be prepared if it did happen. B-But, that won’t happen right? She couldn’t, shouldn’t think of that now. It was bad luck!!

She shook her head before bolting back into the building, which probably threw off her whole sense of direction, which was probably the reason that Anais crashed in Sebastian. Or, maybe it was because she was such a derp.

After she had crashed into him, she initially though that she was going to fall flat on her butt, much to her embarrassment. But to her surprise, she found herself cradled safely in.. Sebastian’s arms? Ah, how embarrassing! She hadn’t even talked to the poor man in a while and here she was, crashing into him. Besides, wasn’t he bothering him while he was on a job? Gently, stepping out of the embrace, Anais smiled apologetically.

“I-I’m so sorry, Sebastian! I didn’t see where I was going and.. Ah, I was looking for the Princesses… I haven’t found them anywhere… Oh, did I hurt you at all?”

Carefully, she looked over him, checking if she wrinkled any clothing or made a tear?

His grin couldn't help but widen, grow more toothy, at Anais' apologetic smile and tone of voice. The rosette haired lady-in-waiting really was just too adorable. "Hey now, I am a knight, after all, we're built to handle a lot more than cute girls stepping into us." He held his palms up and open, displaying a moment of vulnerability to show her that he was alright. "Ehh, don't you worry about these fancy clothes. To be honest with you, I'll be happy to get out of them." Leaving the sentence with a chaste wink of a scarlet eye, Sebastian cocked his head to the side slightly and folded his arms at Anais' distress of not being able to find any of the Princesses; it was true, he hadn't seen neither of them either, and it wasn't terribly surprising that they were Anais' current focal points, it was her job, though, tonight wasn't about occupational work, now was it? "I'm sure they'll turn up soon enough, you know, it's okay to relax for tonight. Infact," he moved his right hand from the cross of his arms and gently found Anais' own, "Why don't you and I relax a little with a dance? What do you say, sweetheart?"

Princesses, Princesses. Wherever could they be? 

She had scoped out the dance floor, which only contained various couples, but not the Princesses she was looking for. The next was the dining area and they were certainly not there either. And lastly was the courtyard.

It contained a large fountain, which was graced with an elegant statue, spouting water. The edges where built with a border, large enough to sit on. Anais was pretty sure that wasn’t the main purpose of the border, but she decided to rest on it, nevertheless. She could use a break from the noise. She sat on the fountain, her legs swinging freely.

It had been a good 20 minutes before she realized she has been outside for an awful long time. What if the Princesses were looking for her? Quickly, Anais rushed inside, trying to spot a sight of the Princesses or anyone who was looking for her. Subsequently, she has not looking where she was going.

And managed to crash right into the fellow knight.

Before spotting his first target of the night, Sebastian did a quick over view of the premises and where certain people seemed to locate the most, if anything were to happen it would be of utmost priority to lead the royals away to safety and then the women and then the youngest attendants and so forth, all while attempting to detain the threat. Truth be told, Sebastian didn't trust most others, especially those from other regions.  It was a slight cause for concern, however, that neither of the Princesses were in sight, though, if the world was still running normally, then Edel would be by Saphira's side. Lake was also absent, but knowing him he was probably gallivanting with a charmed, pretty face and-- no way, was that Cas? He actually woke up for this sort of thing? So much for the world running normally. Making mental notes of his charges, Sebastian was in an absent-minded state and thus did not notice a certain pink-haired lady in waiting scurrying into the main building; though he certainly did notice when she crashed into him. "Whoa!" Regaining his composure and his balance, the knight caught Anais in his arms and held her lightly against his chest, for support, of course. "Careful there, Annie. Can't have you bruising that pretty face of yours." His grin was warm, and though his words were his natural flirtatious self, his tone was less suggestive-- he knew Anais, compassionate lady that she was, she encouraged feelings of protection more than seduction. "What's the rush, sweetheart?"

Finally. Some fun. He had been anticipating the beginning of this shindig ever since the King first said word of it; things were so boring lately, while everything had been peaceful (equally up to little interesting work for a knight) everyone else still had their lives and politics to keep up with, leaving Sebastian not only bored, but alone to deal with his boredom. Which was never particularly practical for remedying the situation that is idleness. Though, as he meandered his way into the ballroom, he was most definitely not alone; people littered left to right, main stage, walls and corners, familiar faces of Altum, new faces from every other region-- some of the knights recognizable, though Sebastian's memory didn't stretch far enough to recall their names. Elaborate gowns, pressed suits, endless chatter collecting into a comforting din, warm atmosphere. Which he hoped would stay as such for the rest of the event, while he wanted to be here for 'fun' purposes, and was dressed accordingly, he was still a knight on guard (and was armed accordingly) and would have to step into the immediate front lines if someone here decided to be a jackass about things, especially because royals were here, though Sebastian was only concerned about Altum's. Loyalty, fortunately, was one of those things that didn't come after play. Flattening sloppily a stray wrinkle on the sleeve of his jacket, the blonde grinned and surveyed the area, sanguine eyes glittering with the endless potential and possibilities. So many appealing faces, who to chat up first?

“The fact that you’re so against it troubles me.” She scoffed, her right arm returning to her side as its twin rested upon her hip. “What sort of motive are you acting upon? Is it your personal mission to engage in a sort of dalliance to pledge your devotion to the House of Eldoris?” She shook her head silently; Edel would have been willing to prolong their playful bickers, but it was much too early in the day to deal with trivial matters.

“If, on a miracle, you prove that my job can be easily placed aside for leisure, then perhaps I’ll accept your offer, otherwise, no.” She took a brief pause, eyes closing as she sighed, rolling back her shoulders to do away with the knots that had formed moments ago. “You must not have the time for it either, seeing that you’re always here in the knight’s quarters, at least, when I actually do see you. I can only imagine the trouble you cause in between our meetings.” She would tap her foot lightly, masking the urge to hit him upside the head, perhaps to “put him in his place.” Sadly, such a sight wouldn’t be fitting for a princess, especially not in public.

Sebastian's grin-pulled lips twitched slightly, his former shining expression fading a bit, being replaced with a downturn of fear as Edel scoffed and shifted her position. Uh oh, she looked like a mother ready to scold her child until kingdom come, tch, such a stick in the mud! "Geez, princess, I'm jus' sayin' that a little fun wouldn't kill you, in fact, overworking yourself just might. And isn't it the expectation of a princess to look after herself as well as her people? The people of Altum can't really rely on an overworked royal, now can they?" A small smirk returned to his features. The knight tipped his head to the side as she sighed and rolled her shoulders, was that a sign that he had a point? "Stress really is a terrible thing, princess. Not to mention it gives you premature wrinkles and we wouldn't want to mar your flawless beauty." "No, see, that just means I know how to balance work and play!" A seemingly sincere smile washed over him, shifting most of his balance to his left side, he intertwined his fingers and placed them on the nape of his neck. "Trouble isn't all that bad. You should give it a try sometime, you just might like it."

“You make it seem as if I have a choice in the matter— which, I assure you, I don’t.” She crossed her arms, head tilting to the side. “Fun or not, it’s my duty as a princess of Altum to see that this is done efficiently.”

His response made her raised an eyebrow, almost as if judging the man otherwise. “What would you rather prefer then? I wouldn’t be that surprised if I had to go as far as ‘lothario.’”

"Duty. Pfft." He laughed through his nostrils and mimicked her motion of crossed arms, though in a far more lofty and nonchalant way. "There's plenty of others who could complete all that boring deskwork for you." Waving his hand dismissively, there was a bit more in his words than originally voiced-- it wasn't of any mystery how the younger Princess of the court was of frailer condition than Edel, but that didn't mean that she had to shoulder more burdens than necessary. At least, how Sebastian saw it. "Hey--!" Dramatically, the blonde brought a flat, outstretched palm across his chest and feigned a hurt look. "You say that like it was entirely my fault that the court of Eldoris gained a hedonistic reputation." A proud and wide grin etches across his face, slightly tipped to the left, cocking an eyebrow slightly he speaks through his grin, "'Sides. You're telling me a stunning figure of royalty such as yourself doesn't let loose every once in awhile?" His voice is light-hearted yet snarky, he already imagines what her response will be, knowing Edel well enough, that doesn't stop him from saying such things in an attempt to rile her.
