Miss the forest (for the trees)

There are many paintings in the facility. You find yourself drawn to the ones depicting nature the most: tall mountain peaks, winding rivers, vast open fields. Sometimes even the sun setting over the ocean seems more vibrant on the canvas than right outside the window.

There is a painting of a winter forest that hangs in the library. The other day, one of the Eules was gazing at it, lost in thought. You try to understand why it made her so sad, but you can't seem to figure it out. Maybe you just weren't made to understand art.

Done on one layer for the most part to challenge myself since I haven't fully painted a background in a long time. Apologies for being sorta inactive, I haven't been drawing much lately that I felt was worthy posting here... I certainly haven't forgotten, I am actively working on my story, drawing just takes a hot minute ;;
