The hound vaguely remembered seeing the witch once before. Had he burned her in the woods? He couldnât tell. So many humans looked the same these days. But she wasnât quite the same as the other witches Powerful in a different way. He could feel it around her like walking through a substance lighter than water but heavier than air. He wanted to walk around and sniff her to see where she came from and if he could determine the origin of her powers. They smelled⊠familiar. Ethereal almost. He narrowed his eyes in suspicion. âOnly to know your identity.â
The witch wasnât surprised to be treated with suspicion. Most of the supernatural people in town were suspicious of the newcomer, whether they had reason to be or not. It came with coming in to a town that had had so much damage done to it. Although, she did deserve the suspicion, to be fair. Unfortunately, that didnât make it any less annoying. Winter rolled her eyes, pushing the creatures hand down out of frustration. âDo you want my social security number to go along with that?â
