Where thomas goes on antidepressants and the medication manifests as an emotional support dog for virgil.
And of course virgil named her Zero after the doggo in nightmare before Christmas
Remus: *takes Patton to a rage room*
Remus: Basically just break stuff, Poptart. It’s fun and relieves stress.
Patton: *looks around nervously* But— but I don’t have st—
Remus: Patton, no one is here. No one is gonna fault you for feeling anything negative. And everything in here is made to be broken—
Patton: *shakily picks up a tiny teacup, looks up at Remus*
Remus: *nods*
Patton: *drops it to the ground; it shatters* Oh. Ohhh—
Remus: Well I’ve just created the cutest monster ever. Keep going babe—
I had a vision

Patton: "I mean, of course I love to say you're all my kiddos, but I doubt any of the sides actually see me as their father figure, you know?"

So...
You guys may have noticed I’m not as active here as I used to be, and I haven’t posted any fic or really done anything but reblog in ages. I’m slipping out of the Sanders Sides fandom, due to a combination of the content droughts, the changing dynamics in the series, and just the fact that I’ve been here since 2017 and have moved on to other things.
I’m not deleting this blog, or anything, but I probably won’t be doing much here except reblogging the occasional art or fic from friends, and I don’t see myself ever writing any Sanders Sides again, except maybe as a gift for a friend. Don’t feel obligated to keep following if you don’t want to!
If you do want to follow me on my main or any of my other blogs, I’ll list them below.
@thuriweaver: My main @walking-in-lucis: My Final Fantasy XV blog, which is my current hyperfixation, and what I’m writing for @writing-thuri: My writing blog @thuri-ly-made-madej: My Buzzfeed Unsolved blog, which is also pretty quiet @thuri-ly-artistic: My art blog, which has almost nothing in it!
Thanks for all the memories, I’ve made some absolutely amazing friends here! Take it easy guys, gals and non-binary pals! Peace out!
I was thinking about that PI short from last year, good god my Logince heart just flutters from it 😭❤️💙
Like look at themmmm
Looking at his true love 😍 Looking at his true love 😂
It’s funny to me because it’s not canon or anything but it makes me wonder, like what? Roman just happened to be hanging around with Logan?
Or Roman is summoned when Logan goes on math soliloquies of a flowery nature just to listen and then add his own 2 cents..??
Either way, you know what I’m gonna say…
*cough*ᴮᴼᵞᶠᴿᴵᴱᴺᴰˢ*cough*
Here’s the short in case you didn’t see it…
C-could I have a tiny virgil wanting uppies? Little man,,, need some fuel to get through the day
now you GOTTA give him uppies
Remus and Virge bring back Mr. Frog. 💚
EEEP! Took me long enough. Final part of 1, 2, 3.
Also! Thank you so much to all my followers! I recently hit a milestone on this blog and decided to make this comic a DTIYS challenge! Not the entire 10 pages lol, just pick and draw your favorite panel if you feel like it! And tag me, please!
If anyone does it, I’d love to see it!
Also Happy Early Sidesversary! :D
i heard the chemistry band came back and dropped a new single
whenever the sides get mad at each other but not actually MAD mad, they say dumb shit like "Friendship ended with you. (X side) is my new best friend", "You know what? Youre NOT invited to my birthday party anymore", or "Thats it. Youre GOING in the SOUP"
Thomas doesnt know about this. He absolutely knows his sides dont act like in the show at all (Logan at least tries to be somewhat "profesional" around him tho. But def not as much as on the show), but he definitely isnt up to date with all of their shenanigans
and one day during one of Thomas' everyday dilemmas, they start raising their voice a lil and at one point Logan completely forgets that hes talking to Thomas and he goes "thats it. youre GOING in the SOUP" . And Thomas goes "...WH. WHAT????" And Lo is like "WAIT NO FUCK GOD DAMN IT" and everyone else is in TEARS laughing at Logan
[ID: A stetch of Logan Sanders. He is a short haired man in glasses and a button up and tie. He is angrily pointing and saying: "That is it you are going in the soup." End ID]
[ID: A sketch of Thomas Sanders. He is a short haired man in a shirt and jacket. He is looking confused with question marks next to him and text that says: "W.What." End ID]
[ID: A smaller sketch of Logan. He is saying: "Wait- Fuck- No-" and multiple text bubble surround him that say: "Hah!" "lmaoo" "Thomas soup..." And "???" End ID]
Hi losing it. Thomas in the soup
THIS IS SO GOOD OMG DHNDHDHDJ
Thomas in the soup...............
The State of the Sanders Sides Fandom and What to do to Remedy It
I’ve been seeing a lot of people on the dash today talking about Sanders Sides and the, frankly disappointing, lack of content in the past while, and I have to say that I agree.
This might get long, so sorry if it does.
Starting off, Thomas and his team have no obligation to create content for us. It is their job, and they have the right to create what they want, when they want to do so. However, as content creators, they have taken on a type of responsibility to do that job and create content. The last official Sanders Sides episode was two years ago. The last Asides video was seven months ago. The last Cartoon Therapy was three years ago.
There was a Youtube Membership and is currently a Patreon, the money from which was intended to be used to fund these videos and create this content faster. This means that this lack of content is being crowdfunded by the people who, now, are paying to see this content. Why should fans be donating this money if they are not seeing the content from it? Of course, there are other rewards gained from the Patreon, like livestreams, script access, and more, but at the end of the day people would rather the content be out sooner then have all of the extra things.
Furthermore, remember the Animated Mad Libs Storytime? And how Thomas’s team either did not pay the artists a fair wage, the agreed upon wage, or the wage at all? The team, as far as I know, did not apologize and the creators did not end up getting their money or justice.
We were told that they would get a larger team to be able to release content faster. They got the larger team, but the content did not speed up. We were told that they would start making Asides to be able to release lighthearted content not tied to the main plot. They have started releasing Asides, but all of it ties to the main plot and one (Working Through Intrusive Thoughts) is heavy enough to be a main episode at the end of the day. We were told that the Patreon would help pay for the team to work faster. They have the Patreon, but we have not seen the content coming out any faster.
The fandom is dying. I think most people reading this understand that.
We cannot demand more content, but we can hold this team accountable for their false promises and downright lies about what they will do.
We have a right to be upset, all these years into these lies.
So, what can we do?
We do NOT target or harass anybody on the team. That is the worst thing you can do, and it does not help anything.
We do NOT blindly accept their excuses anymore. Waiting seven months for a twenty-minute video is not normal. Waiting two years for a forty-minute video is not normal. We need to stop acting like it is.
We CAN, but SHOULD NOT, wait. Which is what we have been doing, and it obviously sends no messages to the team but complacency.
We CAN stop giving them money through the Patreon. It’s clear that the money people have been giving is not helping or doing anything. They do not need it, and if they did they would be fulfilling their promises.
We CAN get upset. We are allowed to be upset right now, and the past many contentless years of this.
As a fandom, as a community, we all MUST hold this team accountable. We MUST understand that they are not working for us anymore, so we have to talk about this and address this together. Let the team know that we are dissatisfied with this right now.
They do not owe us content, but they do need to remember that we are the ones that have kept this community alive. We are the ones who pay them. We are the ones who have kept them relevant.
And so they should not be giving us these lies about where out money is going.
@softestvirgil, because I know that you have been talking about some of this recently, and you have a far larger reach in the fandom then I do.
no becuase have you though to realize that thomas is a freaking person who has a life outside of youtube?
and are you going to even acknowledge that he makes other videos???? he’s got a series that updates monthly, a cartoon therapy episode in the making, a music video that came out yesterday, and a video that came out, and he did a whole freaking livestream not that long ago
not to mention the continuous stream of shorts that he still keeps up with doing (and he’s been doing shout out sunday’s for like 8 years now)
the guy does a lot and if you haven’t realized, pof was over 50 minutes long and the next video is a freaking 4 part finale?! obviously that’s gonna take some time
did you see all the components to wtit?? that rightfully took alot of work i mean look at it.
like this guy has a life, makes a lot of content as it is and y’all expect him to just get something like that done in like what? a month??
in case you havent noticed, the show isn’t some cute little blogs anymore, it’s a freaking quality tv show. the only difference is mainstream media has teams to do everything, the entire film process is done by totally different professionals and is written in masses. thomas (and everyone else) are the only ones doing everything. thomas is literally the only actor ffs
like, i for one, fucking hate waiting for stuff, i love content as much as the next guy but at least i acknowledge that this kind of thing isn’t right to expect out of literally just some dude on the it internet
cuz he’s quite literally just some dude who wants to make people laugh
but that’s what other fandoms are for, you’re not obligated to stick around, and there’s no rule stating you can only be in one fandom at a time, that’s not a thing.
you’re not obligated to stick around, just like he’s not obligated to even keep the series going, getting pissed over something like that isn’t going to do you any good.
and as for the patreon thing
i for one, didn’t only get patreon to financially support thomas. livestreams are jsut freaking fun and im an over the top fan so. but considering my subscribe predates sasi itself i feel it makes sense to support a guy tho.
you do also realize that his only job is youtube tho right? boycotting his patreon isn’t the same as boycotting something like disney+ because that’s essentially a good part of his income.
and plus you say it’s not doing anything but jsut take a look at wtit again for me. you think all of that work didn’t cost money?? you think pof didn’t cost a lot of money to make? you are going to look at an entire episode taking place in a courtroom and think, “yep that didn’t cost money at all” you are going to look at all the newer episodes and see no production difference compared to the older ones??
absolute bullshit
So I don’t usually hop in on things like this, and here’s hoping it’ll be the only time if I can help it, but I keep seeing this stuff lately and I wanted to hop in with an opinion; (warning this will be LONG)
You’re absolutely, 100% in your rights to decide you’re not interested / losing interest in the series.
You’re well within your rights to stop donating to the patreon or buying merch because it’s YOUR money and you can literally just choose not to keep buying it. You are, however, not about to sit there and make posts like OP without fact checking just because you can’t be bothered to do research.
You are ALSO not about to be entitled like this without realizing a few fundamental truths about production and the creation of content when balanced with an adult life.
(The rest is under a read more, if you take the time to read it, thank you. If not, then whatever, I’m not your mother, I don’t make your decisions for you /lh)
I am so glad that I’m not the only one who has this same frustration with the fandom. I have posted once on this and reblogged a version of this same post with what I’m seeing. (I assume it got lost because I linked a previous post I made on the matter.) Quite frankly, I’m not gonna shut up about this topic until some of y'all realize that you’re just talking about this from your POV. You aren’t considering it from the team’s. Or even from an artist’s perspective.
I am not coddling him nor am I deflecting criticism. I know they have done stuff that I don’t agree with nor I thought were executed well. I am not defending those actions. I am also not putting him up on a pedestal because that is incredibly unhealthy to do so. He is human. He needs breaks. He makes mistakes. It’s unhealthy to assume otherwise.
I have been here since summer 2017. I joined the fandom shortly after CLBG. I have seen Thomas and Co talk about the all nighters in order to get content filmed. I’ve seen them talk about how they would give themselves too much work that they could not handle.
Patreon is giving them a much healthier schedule. I know a lot of you won’t like it, but this is a schedule they need to have. It’s far more healthy than before.
And people can have their opinions on how long it takes. But I will throw my hat in the ring. I have participated in two movies. Both independent groups of people. Similar to Thomas’s team, but we did it for free.
It took us 7-8 months on the first one. Quality of the earliest episodes because we could not afford better equipment. (That’s including storyboarding.) The second one, which had originally music and virtual effects, took closer to 9 to 10 months. We bought better cameras and lights cause we could afford it. And cause it made the video so much better.
Both were for movies under an hour. They took months to make. Saying “oh it shouldn’t have taken them X amount of time to finish a 30 minute video” is irresponsible.
You don’t know why a video may take as long as it does. And even short vids that some people think are “simple” can take months to produce.
And heck, I’m glad POF and DWIT and WTIT took as long as they did. They have a lot of info in them that needed heavy research. It would be irresponsible of them to put out info that was incomplete or incorrect.
It would be hypocritical of me to expect them to churn out content more frequently when I have SEEN what goes on behind the scenes. I know it’s not possible to make scripted content that quickly without risking the health and safety of the cast and crew.
Not to mention, they HAVE POSTED MORE CONTENT SINCE PATREON OPENED. They posted 19 vids last year alone! In 2020 they had 9.
But are you bringing that up? Or is it not relevant because it’s not Sanders Sides?
They are allowed to make other content. Thomas is not a Sanders Sides making machine. And hell, he posted a music video last night about THIS EXACT THING.
I do not care if they post only one scripted video this year. I don’t. I care about their health and I am paying them to ensure that they do not return to the unhealthy schedule that they had previously. I do not want to make them feel like they have to.
I am frankly exhausted at everyone trying to push Thomas into one box. He is able to make other content. He should make other content to ensure he has a healthy relationship with Sanders Sides. To make sure he doesn’t become burnt out on it.
They finally have the money they need to achieve what they need to. They turned to a new platform because the old one wasn’t working. I obviously don’t know why exactly, but here’s what I can see:
- YouTube takes a good chunk of money out of memberships. Leaving the team with less. Patreon takes money, but it’s far less than YouTube.
- Content leaks. I remember when Remus’s logo was revealed. It was leaked onto a Facebook group I was in less than 30 minutes after the stream ended. When I asked people not to share, they said, “Well then tell Thomas to stop putting stuff behind a paywall. I can’t afford it and I think everyone should have that info.” When that is not true. It turns into my next point.
- Devaluing of memberships. The perk of memberships was behind-the-scenes access. Why should people buy a membership if the info will be leaked in less than an hour anyway? Other promised stuff, like discounts to the shop, were not given because they did not trust us to not share that info. Because they saw how bad other info leaked.
Patreon offers more security to the team and ensures that the stuff on there is not being devalued by leaks.
The team needs money to survive. Every fine arts person knows this. I have a bachelor’s in English. All my other friends are artists, writers, musicians, etc.
To post regular content, you need a schedule. In order to have a schedule, you need stability. In order to have stability, you need money.
The Co has a more stable income. They now can afford to have a schedule. And we are seeing that schedule.
But some of you don’t like it. You don’t like that we aren’t seeing new Sanders Sides episodes. Even though you don’t have a say in that schedule.
This schedule is healthy for them. And I literally do not care one bit if they do not post a scripted video this year. There is probably reason for that.
Why would Thomas not want to post content from his most popular series? Why would he not want to be making some sort of money from his work by not posting?
Now, I don’t speak for the team. This is just me sharing my experiences as someone in the fine arts and as someone with experience in film production.
I think sometimes a lot of you are incredibly hard on Thomas for stuff that may be entirely out of his control.
What their schedule now is realistic and what they need for as small of a team as they have. And I’m not going to pressure them to post more content because I love all of his content and I don’t care what comes next. But also, I know pressuring someone to do something is just…. Awful. It never feels good to be on the opposite end of that.
If I don’t see a Sanders Sides episode this year. I don’t care. I just want them to be safe while producing it. Should that mean they have a healthy schedule that takes four to eight months to complete, then so be it.
Their health and safety matters over my enjoyment of their content.
i have one (1) more complaint.
which is that people who say we should be patient and not be frustrated about the long time between videos say that it’s bad that we judge the channel for the amount of sanders sides content since thomas does other stuff.
but like. the other stuff is almost always related to sanders sides somehow and i guess it’s because thomas likes the characters and exploring them through other mediums even if it’s songs or whatever.
i have no doubts that thomas has that genuine intention, but still it feels like it’s actually a way to go “oh you miss sanders sides content? here’s this thing! now you can’t say there’s nothing!” but it’s not an actual sanders sides episode? it’s not what i asked for… it doesn’t make me feel like the waits are shorter, at all. at least not me personally.
this is 100% me i’m not expecting the team to change this. but it’s the thing that bothers me about that argument about thomas doing other stuff on his channel when it’s actually neither other, separate stuff nor actual sanders sides stuff. so. meh.
Yeah, like with the song he released today and how he’s responding to comments saying he drew heavy inspiration from Sanders Sides feels like a way for him to say exactly this. He wants to claim that he has given us content but that just isn’t true.
