Steve slid up behind Bucky, laying a gentle hand on his shoulder. He hated when Bucky had nightmares and didn't want to startle the man, but he needed to let the man know he wasn't alone.
Bucky smiled up tiredly at Steve, reaching for him with his flesh hand. It always made him so sad when he woke the younger man.
"Yeah that’s what you always said."
Steve shrugged. “I don’t feel that bad,” he said. “I just wanna lay here with you.”
"That I can do," Buck agreed. "And the medicine of this age is a marvel. And we don’t have to worry about paying for it either."
Steve nodded and turned his head, coughing into his arm. He shivered and curled up next to Bucky, closing his eyes as he did.
Bucky frowned when he felt how warm Steve’s forehead was, but didn’t push the issue.
Steve shifted closer to Bucky. “Might not be as okay as I thought,” he mumbled.
"Getting that impression," Bucky said dryly.
Steve coughed again and curled up in Bucky’s arms. “Will you take care of me?”
"Course, I will Stevie," Bucky murmured.
