I had a good evening :]

We watched Lucy (with ScarJo) for the first time in over a decade and balled up some yarn and then I went out to get a soda bc I had a headache and on the bus I met a charming socially awkward guy who asked for the time and nearby restaurants and he came to the gas station with me and he paid for my drink and told me to get something to eat too and also paid for that and then when we were walking back to the station a stray cat came RIGHT up to us and let us pet it and pick it up and carry it and in my head I named him Lucy in honour of the movie. I really wanted to take him home but he got more and more antsy the further we walked so I let him go. Anyway. Yay :]

Also when I went back up there, one of the staff asked if we got breakfast, and I said I has one sandwich but it's not enough to take our meds, and she asked if she could bring me another sandwich, and I just asked for some Poptarts, AND SHE CAME BACK WITH A WHOLE ASS BAG OF SANDWICHES AND RAMEN AND CHIPS AND DOUGHNETTES AND TUNA AND COCONUT WATER AND A CUP OF JUICE. THE STAFF LAST NIGHT WERE ON ONE BUT SOME OF THESE STAFF REALLY ARE WONDERFUL

We were very unfairly kicked out of our shelter last night and everyone agrees that it was completely unfair. We didn't even have to complain, the good supervisor heard about it when he came in and was like, uhm, the fuck? Called THE director of the Entire organisation that has like so many different branches for homeless services, she's gorgeous also, super witchy and I swear to God she looks like a celebrity but that's beside the point, THE DIRECTOR WAS THERE TO INVESTIGATE IT EVEN AFTER WE SAID WE DIDN'T WANNA STAY ACTUALLY. AND THEN I SHOWED BACK UP AND SAID NO ACTUALLY WE DO IN FACT NEED THIS SO SHE CAME OUT AND ASKED US WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY'RE GONNA SEE ABOUT JUST UNDOING THE DISCHARGE AND ARE GONNA HOLD OUR BED UNTIL THAT DECISION IS MADE. WE'RE NOT OVERREACTING OR DISPLACING BLAME THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT AND WE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE TO BRING IT UP TO HAVE PEOPLE ON OUR SIDE DEDICATED TO FIGHTING FOR US. The Tuesday streak continues. Mondays, Moon days, are fucking AWFUL here, like every Monday is a damn super blood blue whole moon retrograde eclipse or some shit, but then Tuesdays are proving to be AWESOME so we stay winning

Finally knitting pretty successfully. We've tried so many times but as a lifelong crocheter, the lack of hook really throws us. But we were advised to start with super bulky yarn (we've only ever used worsted) and, yep, that sure does help a lot.

The library has a rec room of sorts with some yarn and hooks and needles so we're takin the opportunity to try.

🥺🥺🥺 asked one of the shelter staf if i would be able to have my binky out in the common room and she said yes and so i got it and she said her older sister (who's gotta be in at *least* her late 30's, if not somewhere in her 40's) still uses her binky and theres no shame in what makes you feel comfortable 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 safe space

got a tent and sleeping bag and blankets and ball cap and emergency thermal blankets from donations today!!! and a walker!!!!!!!

the walker is so helpful omg. we've been wanting to try one for a while but weren't really certain it would do much for us but wow it does!!! same thing happened with our cane LOL!!

cane helps us stand/walk more upright/straight, turns out we were leaning to one side all the time, thats why it hurt. it also makes us feel comfortable walking slowly, socially speaking. plus our balance issues are getting worse so that's helpful too.

and then the walker does all that AND the stabilisation is better since it's symmetrical and it helps us walk as slow as we actually need to not just socially but physically and it's a place to sit if needed and the built in storage is also super important to take the weight and stress off our back and shoulders from our bags (plus that'll be really important if we end up on the streets and have more bags) so im just!!! yay!!!!!!!
