hello world!
making this blog to archive all my experiences with a broken jaw so people can use it to survive their broken jaws and everything i learned don't just live on in my head. there's a lot on reddit, and @jawswiredshut has a lot of good posts on food too. and there's a couple smoothie blogs that accidentally had some hits but i feel like those had less of an impact on me, i love a beverage but i'm not really a smoothie person. but this blog is my experience and my personal combination of taste in food and graduate student budget and time. my main thing is that there's actually a lot of foods that are legit just blended in the first place, not "smoothie-d pb&j" but like legit just a meal that i'd eat blended with my jaw unwired too
i broke my lower jaw in 5 places from skateboarding, chipped most of my teeth, got a pretty serious surgery to install a plate holding most of my jaw together. minimum 8 weeks wired with a 100% smoothie diet, and looking at a long road of smoothies-to-soft-foods after the elastics come off. don't get me wrong it was and is rough but you make it through and honestly some parts were kinda fun. i just wanna put a positive voice out there cause a lot of the bloggers out there were awesome but SOME redditors out there were just determined to have a bad time,,, dawg i'm not gonna suffer for 8 weeks, it does not have to be a bad time
