Love the fact that Kimi's hair has always had it's own sentience
š£ļø: "George said after Silverstone he thought 25 points was more or less fair, based on the bad luck he had and maybe you having a bit of bad luck. Do you agree, Kimi? Despite the bad luck, do you think youāre driving as well, if not better, than when you were winning the five races in a row?"
Kimi:Ā "Itās really hard to judge because, yes, heās had bad luck, for sure. Monaco was one of them. Of course, we wouldnāt have known how the race would have ended because we were both neck and neck. It was impossible to know. But for sure, yeah, he was very unlucky because at that point he was leading the race and he had to stop. Then there were a couple of other times that he was a bit unlucky. In my case, we were going towards a result that was almost certain. Barcelona was P2. Silverstone, we cannot know because I didnāt have a shot, but I think we would have been in the fight for it. So for sure, we know those would have been certain points. I have to say both of us had bad luck. One of us had it in more critical moments at times, but as I said, itās the way it is. This is how motorsport goes, and we all know that. We could see ourselves how this can shift very quickly. As a team, definitely reliability has not been our strongest point, and weāve realised that is something we need to keep working on. For example, Ferrari seems very strong on that side, so we just need to make sure. I know the team is working super hard to make sure that these things donāt happen. But if I look back after this firstāthis is weekend 10āif we look at me and George combined, we lost lots of points. Then if you look at the Constructorsā Championship balance, itās definitely a big hit. But as drivers, in this case me and George, we just try to do our best and make sure we use every opportunity we get."
mackbrini and kimitonelli kiss in the mercedes garage over being 19 and talented whenā¦
One is leading the f1 championship today and the other the f2 championship
im so incredibly rpf pilled and i wonder if kimi ever thinks of alex (powell) while racing in f1
like i wonder if he wins a race and wishes alex was with him on the podium. or records merc media shit with george and wishes it was alex he was recording it with instead. i wonder if he was upset when merc dropped alex. and on the flip side, does alex think of kimi? does he get jealous that kimis reached their shared dream of racing in f1 (and possibly winning the championship) while hes still in formula regional? or does he see kimi as more of a goal post, inspired to reach f1 and race against him once again? oh they make me soo incredibly ill i hate them
its 2:00 am and i am thinking about merc!paul in f3 having hopes and dreams. i am thinking about meek and young freca!kimi. i am thinking about aronelli i am thinking about if4 kimi and freca paul and a friendship that could have been but never was.
someone made a "f1 data and analysis" tumblr blog JUST to post cherry picked data that alone doesn't say much about driving and is simply not particularly insightful and all because track limits became a particular talking point after kimi's silverstone penalty
the one thing i'll say that for silverstone every single track limit kimi happened after his front left wheel shield broke which made it hard to turn the car and thus maintaining it on track and that obviously doesn't say anything about his driving. he badly wanted to keep going after he lost positions due to something out of his control to at least try to secure a point and i think that says something more interesting about him as a driver
and one can always easily check deleted times on the fia documents website if curious about it and keep in mind there's always circumstances for what they show. focusing on a single aspect of a situation can make you blind to the picture that actually matters
basically kimiās silverstone race or something
really thought we werent gonna get more vertonelli crumbs this weekend who the hell was recording their yap session for 41s lmao. im not complaining though, they still look so joyful next to each other. from how kimi shakes his head and max covers his face, they could very well were trauma-bonding over how dogshit this weekend was.
Red Bull catastrophes aside, the things that happened with Kimi today (and lately, tbh) are the stuff of nightmares and I wouldāve been so heartbroken if I were his fan. However, he held his head up high and I was impressed by his response to the entire situation, to me he showed a lot of grit even when things arenāt going his way to stay out and fight for even one point.
I think he has a very solid mentality for someone his level and I know heās going to bounce back.
