brother ive just about had it with british f1 content creators. nikola tsolov is aiming for a record breaking season and instead of assuming that he might be a good driver maximizing his car and strategy, their default assumption is that f2 is actually broken and not an accurate reflection of skill level.
where was arvid in his f2 campaign? p6 if memory serves, marti missed the last two races, but he would have been near arvid if he had driven them. which is exactly where arvid is midway through the season in f1 this year, right behind liam in the standings. if we take the people who's records he's about to break into account, george and charles both finished p4 in their first seasons with mercedes/ferrari (4th season move for george and 2nd season for charles). if we want a more recent example, oscar finished p4 in his second season with mclaren.
but because nikola is southeastern european, the ingrained xenophobia does not allow the british mind to see a bulgarian flag and not immediately assume there's no way he is the superior driver and won't produce similar results as the people racing under western european flags before him, because surely they had more competitive seasons and also nikola is probably being boosted by his team and don't forget that he didn't dominate f3 so is he really that good now? no, probably not, of course he couldn't be, all the while the bulgarian anthem plays every other weekend.
