The Divinly Talented Few
I knew that my singing was something else entirely. To have the most strong willed people become nothing but despairing bodies. When I figured this out, even now, I twisted the feelings of despair, desperation and insanity into that could be seen as a form of a vaccine. When I preformed, when my singing is heard they fall into those states only for themselves to break out of it. It's why I seen despair as my own hope.
It's been so long since I've sang. So long are the days of maush pits and having the event go on for weeks without me having to quit.
I can still sing but...I'm not her anymore.
I know that. I look into the mirror to see myself. The new self. I don't know if I could be that former self a bit again.
I seen what happened. I've been in killing game after killing game. I always won and he did as well. We won together in this mediocre death sport. He made sure what happened to me never will happen twice.
It's strange. I can feel this divine luck warm my body from the inside. It's so hard to explain. Not as though anyone else would see the truth.
I'm undead. I remember my past. I remember everything. From when I chased ------- to when I was dead. Then, I opened my eyes again.
He took care of me. Everything sense then I worry about the implications. The implications which are the Pandora's box as a whole.
Deadbolt (2/?)
They haven't seen her like I have.
They'll never understand our shared agony.
As I lay bleeding, the panic falls into the void.
As she has; I follow her into the dark.
To where I'll sleep....
The dead won't die.
"My precious, I'm back!" The door closed behind the male who entered in the small room. There she laid. On the table in her blue dress. The equipment put in their proper places and cleaned.
"Sorry I took so long. I was getting everything ready so you can eat sooner than a few minutes later." He unfolds a wheelchair and wheels it beside the table, putting the brake down so it stays in place.
Scoops her up; gently sits her down. He puts her arms on the arm rests and smiles at her. She's not completely mobile yet. Tends to fall and ends up hurting herself. While he knows she wanted to be independent, he also knew that she needs help to achieve it. His help.
He lifts the brake, walking with her down the halls of their underground sanctuary. It has everything he -and soon her- could literally think of. Much of it is for archiving purposes; papers, letters, to artifacts, it's all there. The walk is quite with the occasional death rattle from Kido echoing around the place. It became something he loved to hear. It's like a twisted whispered lullaby to his enjoyment.
Her rigor mortis stillness, her unblinking gaze. It was something that he adored. He didn't lose her. She's still alive but her body is just dead. Many people would see nothing but a monster to be killed like anything worth less than the soil or the disgusting act of false mercy. He knows that she's different now, it doesn't matter to him.
She's still alive. She's still his. Only his. His own maiden of twisted hope and the primal hunger despair can't satisfy. Many say obsession. For him, it's love.
Many say savor and god complex. He's just devoted, loyal, and won't let her twisted beauty to be what makes him flee away.
"I won't leave you Kido. You're still the one who I met. They don't know what they don't understand. Don't fret about them or the situation. I'll keep you safe. They'll never know or will say anything. I'll make sure of that."

Event: Hack Attack
*In the middle of the night, Monocrow was counting inventory in the MonoBar's wine cellar. With everything in place, he turns on the security system to protect the wine and the bar. Just as he was about to leave, he turns off the lights to the bar only for it to come back on immediately. Confused, Monocrow turns lights back off before it suddenly turns back on. Monocrow scratches his chin and goes over towards the cellar. However, when he tries to deactivate the security system, it goes off and the mountained machine guns open fire upon him. He dodged out of the way and fled the bar in a panic. Unknown to him, there was mischevious giggle from within the survaliance cameras. Morning came not long after that incident as you overhear a news report about similar machine and computer malfunctions occuring all around the city. Police cars driving themselves, email addresses being leaked to others, social media accounts being flooded with random nonsense, it's a pandemic. Just what the hell is happening?*

A thin lipped smile came to her face. Finally she could find her master again without having to worry about any of the foundations figuring out who she is. It'd be too obvious what she carries now. Power that keeps her 'alive.' That bird she attacked, while a miscalculation, was one of interest. Her cataract eyes moved to a file she kept after her escape from the Kisaragi Foundation's morgue. She normally would've burned it however, she thinks it's something that can help her prevent something worse from happening again.
"That's the bird I was looking for. Now to find who he's close to. I'll get them to talk soon." *She picked the file up from her desk* "I'll let you keep doing your thing computer. Track them."
"Of course, Ma'am. Please do be careful. Another welder could be about."
"Don't worry about me. I'll do what I always do." *She leaves the room and goes to get herself ready to search on ground. It's a warm day so she'll have to be careful to keep her condition under wraps. Nothing too out there but she can't risk ending up back where she ended up. Can't afford to let the Vultures even try to pull another killing game off. She can't afford that.*
While the AI she made is chaotic. They can handle the controlled chaos that they both made. Not like she'd be linked to the situation.
*After getting ready and leaving her home, she eventually spots Monocrow sharing his testimony on last night's incident.*
*The girl keeps herself tucked away and listens to the conversation. Might as well to see if anything is useful is spilled.*
Police officer: "So you turned on the security system and that's when things started going wild?"
"Indeed. And when I finally got back, the entire bar was a mess! Oh, if only Master Monokuma were still here. He'd know what to do."
Police Officer: "We're looking into the matter as much as we can, Mr. Crow. We'll figure it out."
*That's definitely him. She can tell cause of some kind of feeling. While it's not instinct driven hostility, it was similar. It's how this work for her. It's relation to the predecessor way before her and Amari. Just have to play it cool like the 'live' person she is. Besides, she made sure she couldn't be found. It's not like someone whose dead could up and walk away. Right?*

Event: Setsukaâs party
Through the ânightâ, eventually everyone had returned to their hotel rooms where they were greeted with an invitation from Setsuka to come to a party.
Upon arriving at the location, <Your muse> was greeted with what looked like a movie theater. Decorated with light across the top but any sign that would indicate the name of it seemed to have been glitching out showing very little of what remained of the actual name. Upon walking inside they were greeted with a decent sized ballroom that stretched back pretty far and was decorated with certainly enough chairs and tables to be able to seat everyone. Small chandeliers were spread throughout the venue to keep it mostly lit without hurting eyes. Lining against one of the walls was a small stage elevated, it seemed like it was big enough to fit an entire band on it. There had been some fake trees and plants put around to try and make things a bit more lively. Towards the back there was a longer table leaned against the wall that laid between two doors, one on each side of the venue with quite long corridors.
âYou were able to make it! I was surprised at the level of attendance actually, everyone managed to show upâŠand I mean everyone. Take the time to go mingle. â± ÊČá”Ëąá” Ê°á”á”á” âżá” ᶠâ±á”ʰá”Ëą á”âżá” á”á” á”Êłá”á”á”â±âżá” á”á”á”.â She smiled but she was very worried for the potential of a fight being caused just from two people not at least trying to get along.
(Threads Iâve started before will not be affected by this and can continue to co-exist during this event! ( @mikado-sannoji @yui-samidare-reborn @ichi-peachyâ @ask-ultimate-fashionistaâ @despairs-bladeâ @former-proffessor-and-policemanâ + anyone who wants to join⊠I just ask you have a muse in mind you want to talk with and write in the tags who you want!)

âThat still sounds like a lot of hard work which I think should always be appreciated in some form or another. Maybe I could treat you to some sort of treat later after the party?â She smiled. âWell my brothers sometimes like to rough house and to escape each other from time to time they use the trees so climbing around them is natural for my youngest brother⊠Iâm not sure why he watches the cityfolk though.â
The more she listened to Kidoâs explanation, she raised her hand to hold onto her uniformâs tie. She wasnât sure what to expect but it certainly wasnât that. Was she even old enough to know about that? âIâve never really delt with crimes somehow, at least nothing as severe as that. I was assigned a bodyguard as soon as my movies really started to pop off alongside my Uncle coming with me when he could.â
âYou donât have to. Itâs just another of many things that I just do myself cause I can and itâs fun.â Color Kido a bit off guard with the offer. Sheâs gotten adjacent to three specific people offering or springing up activities on her. She didnât mind it but, she still avoids on instinct.
As for her brothers, âSounds like a bunch of dogs or monkeys than boys. Then again, I run around screaming in the woods like I was escaping a hockey masked killer. I canât be too judgemental.â
âI mean with fans, paparazzi, and other hazards it makes sense. The public eye is a complicated thing. Canât say anything else. Iâve only been popular in very nitch groups online.â
âIf you say so, I wonât force you to go. That just wouldnât be fair of me. Itâs nice to hear itâs something fun for you though.â She wanted to pop up her friendliness but she pushed it down to remain calm while conversing. âThennn⊠maybe you can show me how to build something in the future? If youâre alright with that of course.â
âLiving in the woods does have its dangers at times with wild animals, even if our placement is generally safe⊠We still have to put up makeshift traps here and there for our own safety. We tend to set them free after we get them out but it still takes awhile for the animals to calm down to be able to do that.â She shivered for a moment, she remembers when one of her siblings ended up getting kicked in the gut by a deer before.
âI tend not to interact with the public unless Iâm going shopping. Iâve had people yell to try and grab my attention here and there and usually dismiss it with a smile and wave. Thereâs a lot of persistent people out there who always try and grab celebrities attention the moment theyâre outside their home.â
âIf youâre interested in it I can. It does get a bit dirty depending on how and what youâre doing.â Kido let out a strangled chuckle. It sounded like rattling or gurgling coming from her chest. It could be caused by an infection.
âI understand why. I catch and release unless they show symptoms of illness. A lot of them end up having CWD or rabies and had to end their pain. I put them in my garden once cremated so infection wonât end up spreading. I tend to those whoâll survive for any injuries then let them go. They tend to remember me.â Kido blinked.
âI donât like when Iâm approached so I get some of the experience. If Iâm having it really ruff I go into a panic or freeze up, hide, stuff like that. Havenât done much else if the situations happen. Iâll make note of that in case we cross paths.â
The noise admitting had startled her at first. Thereâs no way the other wasnât aware of it right? She smiled back regardless of her concern. âMy uncle always says itâs good to dip your hands in other activities to broaden your interests.â A wave of confidence washed over her. âIâm sure itâll be a good time if we do it together.â
âWeâre not able to tend to the sick animals like that unfortunately⊠If an animal does die in one of our traps, we have to fill the hole to bury it.â She felt a bit guilty admitting it⊠but it was really the best the group could do for it if things got that bad. They have no ways of actually treating the animals.
âHave you tried using something to hide your face? I mean, where you can see them but they really canât see you. If itâs anxiety about interacting with others, something like that might help- Ah, sorry for just assuming something like that.â
âHeâs correct. It adds character to a person. I learned to make bleeding candles and how to make molds to shape candles into animals, skulls, plants, and other things.â
Itâs funny to think she can see clearly, at least. Luckily her eyes were acting like eyes should in theory. Itâs her nose who gives her the ability to tell whoâs around along with her ears.
Kidoâs face softened a little, âUnfortunately nature runs itâs course. Canât stop it sometimes if itâs preventable. I had my fair share passing or pasted away. Some of course I let down easy as theyâd wonât survive much longer. It hurts but you can figure out how to twist it in a good thing, at least in my case I can.â
Kido grew a thin lipped smirk, âYouâre okay! I can understand why youâd want to help. Itâs more about not knowing them or I get suspicious. Not everyone has good intentions. I do admire your concern.â
âI always heard that Ultimateâs were meant to focus on nothing but their talents to remain the best of the best. Hearing you have other things to do for entertainment is awesome! If thereâs one person you ever want to go on and on to about really anything, my one brother is a journalist. The one who climbs trees, he doesnât have to note stuff if you tell him not to. He always listens to new things with interest, and will try and share your enthusiasm about it.â Despite being told to do other things, Emmaâs general interests have always been more towards âpopular cultureâ in comparison to the arts and building.
âI just hope the animals donât go hating us too much for having to bury their kin like that. Thereâs been a doe that used to come by with a friend, but that friend ended up dying nearby the house. The doe didnât come back for a good long while and would stare at us before running away all manic when it saw us again.â Sometimes she really questioned if animals were capable of 'forgivenessâ when she thinks about that moment.
âYouâre right on that one⊠Even in the acting industry, thereâs plenty of people who befriend you just to play underhanded to try and get the part youâre going for. Iâll never understand the point of attempting to tear each other down like wolves on the hunt.â
"I see. All ultimates have been pressured to believe they have to constantly work on their talent cause you're nothing without it. It's led to many deaths. It's a twisted joke if you think on it. The expectations are so out of reach leading to death cause of the fact they believe they're nothing from a total stranger. I resort to telling these people that 'i'll see you again soon cause my talent deals with the dead,' they shut their traps after. Ironically it's either other ultimates of older people."
Kido gave a stiff nod, "Some animals, tigers for instance, can remember and will hold hatred for certain people. Some gose for if they're helped. They'll protect and recognize the people. In the doe's instance it could be grief. I've had wolves pass away and I buried their packmate in my garden. The rest didn't start to come back around till a few months ago. I showed them where their packmate was buried. They'll bring gifts and lay them in that spot."
"It's jealousy or envi. Possibly both. I assume my case is wanting to tear me down cause of shallow reasons."

Pain. It's one of the best things to experience when you're alive. It tells you when you're hurt or in need of help. She's unable to.
She comes to visit me here. She's still as sweet as can be given what happened to our school. I can't shake it off of me.
"Fuka?"
I turned my head. Oh, it's just a nurse. I looked back outside of the window. I held our picture of the past in my fingers by its frame.
"Fuka."
I didn't bother turning around this time.
I heard a sigh before footsteps trailed off.
"Kido... I'm scared. She's watching me."
I wonder where you are right now. Hope's Peak Academy? Your apartment so you're close by? Perhaps you've been needing to embalm yourself again?
I know you've been going through a lot. You texted me about how you might not be able to visit today cause of an exam on top of work.
"Maybe tomorrow you'll come by. I can't wait."

Take the time to go mingle. â± ÊČá”Ëąá” Ê°á”á”á” âżá” ᶠâ±á”ʰá”Ëą á”âżá” á”á” á”Êłá”á”á”â±âżá” á”á”á”.â She smiled but she was very worried for the potential of a fight being caused just from two people not at least trying to get along.

âThat still sounds like a lot of hard work which I think should always be appreciated in some form or another.
"You don't have to. It's just another of many things that I just do myself cause I can and it's fun." Color Kido a bit off guard with the offer. She's gotten adjacent to three specific people offering or springing up activities on her. She didn't mind it but, she still avoids on instinct.
As for her brothers, "Sounds like a bunch of dogs or monkeys than boys. Then again, I run around screaming in the woods like I was escaping a hockey masked killer. I can't be too judgemental."
"I mean with fans, paparazzi, and other hazards it makes sense. The public eye is a complicated thing. Can't say anything else. I've only been popular in very nitch groups online."

She knew the school harbored talents but she didnât expect the process to be so large. Three tests just to narrow down the best⊠âDo people of other talents go against each other for those tests or is it based off similar talents competing? Your hard work clearly shows with how you present yourself.â All of this was news to Emma, she thought you could just go and get in with a simple audition priorâŠ
âThereâs an Ultimate Lawyer here that might be able to help you at some point! Although heâs very shy from what Iâve heard.â Going to court over matters like that? Do people really want to try and take more then what the dead had confirmed to be done? âOur fields of work really are different. In comparison mine is just another pretty face to look at.â
âNormally youâre going to deal with similar people which have a similar talent. I wouldnât say youâre competing against one another per se, as I didnât exactly get a straight forward answer. From what I know, itâs left for the scouts to decide who comes and goes.â Kido answered for her to perk up at the mention of an ultimate lawyer.
âIâve heard of them. Iâll keep an eye out and see if thereâs anything which requires his help,â Kido gave a faint smile.
âI wouldnât say itâs all a pretty face. You are smart. It takes a lot to know how to act, conduct emotions, know how to show emotions in body and facial movements or pull off certain scenarios immediately. Unfortunately I dealt with unfair treatment cause of beauty standards.â
Having judges to decide that sort of thing makes sense, already a similarity to acting auditions there. Although if it were at the school it seems like it would be taken to a whole new level. âThereâs also raffle students if I remember, although they donât necessarily have to go through that whole ordeal right?â At least doesnât seem like theyâd have to be trialed for that.
The moment beauty standards were brought up, she almost physically winced. âOh, trust me, I know all about beauty standards. When it comes to acting you tend to need to have a specific build, hair color or even eye color for various films. Not to mention the beauty standard changing depending on which part of the world youâre in. Being in Japan with looks more liked by western folk has its⊠ups and downs.â Most of the time she keeps her blonde hair and blue eyes for comfort of herself but sheâs gotten questionable stairs here and there in the industry quite a bit.
âReserved course and the lucky students just require their highschool transcripts. Thatâs what it pretty much comes to when I asked those who could tolerate my uncanny personality.â
Kido shook her head, âI blame the stands than the latter. I donât care about anybodyâs looks unless I have a question about it. Even then, I donât mean any harm by it. I donât oggole or what have you. Iâve delt with being eyed cause theyâre suspicious, scared, or -on a couple of occasions- outright attacked. Those are stories for another day or yester year.â
Kido just placed an oddly specific detail in a nonchalant manner. Talking about being attacked would warrant a different reaction other than just âoh yeah, that happenedâ way of speaking. Sheâs used to it though itâs not normal to be attacked âon a couple of occasionsâ so to speak. This is normal for her? Sheâs most likely down playing to prevent any negative reaction. And this uncanny personality she referred to doesnât look or sound any different than anything else. Sheâs a little strange, not uncanny by any means. Sheâs just a regular student not some monstrous freak show. Then again, she may have been mistreated to a point of believing she is. Poor girl if sheâs gone through that parade.
âBelieve it or not, I actually understand what itâs like to be casted out for little things and looked out weirdly. It doesnât seem anywhere near as severe as your situation though. Before becoming an actress, I actually used to still does live in a forest that bordered a town. My siblings and I would get all sorts of weird comments or remarks about being wild children for living out there.â She was hoping the relativity would help the other feel at least a little more relaxed around her. âThings like that can get out of control rather quickly when itâs a larger group against anotherâŠ. Still doesnât make it right that you were attacked. I find our chatting to be quite enjoyable actually.â
Enjoyable. Kido shoveled the voice in her mind down. Sheâd rather talk to it alone in the room she found herself occupying. Kido knew Iâd seep into her mind faster given how she was on edge. It canât be helped given she felt a miss around the living or where she is now. Itâs the surrounding people. She hopes so anyway.
âYou live in a forest. I didnât expect that. I actually live in one two. Itâs a little tedious, had to build from the ground up, itâs a ⊠Sanctuary⊠So to speak. I can be me for once and donât have to hide it. Of course Iâd like to be closer to school and work but, I canât stand all the people, noise and smells. I also just like the uhhh⊠Nature out there. Who knows, right?â
Kido didnât like her stammering. It messed with her attention to dodge and weave so close yet far from her nature of death. She didnât think much about if sheâd been seen out on her hunts if her tome would be close. Thatâs unlikely given how much sheâll dig till someone completely outs her.
âI mean, clean air, clear sky, no noise or light pollution, quiet and get to see nature roam around. I see the others as strange. Cities are too loud, dangerous, and prone to criminal action. Acting like itâs for everyone is like asking a zombie to go to bed, they canât sleep so youâre just confused or donât know what a bed is.â
âLiving in a sanctuary sounds nice. Although having to build it yourself seems like it mustâve taken a long time to do. My home was simply one that was abandoned long ago and was brought back to life by my family slowly.â They didnât have to really pay for anything despite it being an actual home, not that she questioned it much back then. The more she thinks about it though⊠how they have running water and electricity there is weird.
âI think living away from the city is both a blessing and a curse in its own way. Itâs nice to have tons of space to yourself, and be able to do whatever without judgement. Although even going near or into the city where I live can get you weird looks. Then again one of my brothers had a habit of climbing into the trees and staring at the city kids.â She let out a small laugh. âIs the criminal activity high by your city?â
"I did it by sections. Removing asbestos, pipes and wiring where the worst of it as I had it all done in one go. It just became easier after that. Still working on it as it's an abandoned asylum estate. I even went as far to to find out if it was owned by anyone. No one seemed to rise so I took it. Been my place ever since really. It also makes sense in your situation to take it slow. Even if you have everything, something always pops up; I'd address the fact your sibling is people watching like a bird as a possible concern. Don't want them to get hurt."
As for the city," -Kido faints a sigh- "It was dog eat dog kind in the part I was in."
Kido's lips ridden on her teeth a little bit," I had a landlord busted for having a lab and illegal material with intent to distribute. I was stalked multiple times, found places tapped, the works. Oh, and authorities are corrupt. I don't really have to go into it anymore. It's all standard criminal actions."

This was comparable to a leap off of a cliff. No, more off of a mountain. Not even those compared to how much Kido was stressing out. She wasnât expecting to end up here yet, she decided for once to break out of her usual self.
Took her a while to get ready and have her mind set for what she wanted to do. It did leave her to be one of the last arrivals. Better late than never.
Changing her appearance from wearing her usual school uniform to having dark navy jeans, a shirt depicting a raven skull laying in Lilac flowers, her collarbone tattoos exposed, matching high heel boots, and piercings with goth style makeup added a sense of interest.
For once Kido wasnât too distant from the ones here. Only time will tell.
âI am normal. If I get stressed, Iâll politely excuse myself.â Giving herself a little assurance, Kido wondered around to adjust to this place.
âSo many people here. Iâm a ghost compared to everyone else.â Kido immediately kicked herself for thinking such a thought.
As they say, change doesnât come in a day.
The first to notice the other arrival was Emma. How could she not?! She was going to have to put herself out there first though if she wanted to try making friends with the other so she made her way over and greeted the other with a smile. âHello! I must say your make up looks stunning nd brings out your eyes beautifully.â Eyes are often the windows to the soul, at least thatâs what others have said and using make up to allow them to pop even more only made Emma more excited. âSorry if that came off oddly as a first introduction, my name is Emma Magorobi. Whatâs yours?â
Kido shot her sight into the ground. She knew she had forgotten something!
Oh well: meek and mellow. Be normal. Donât make foes.
âThanks? I donât normally do this kind of thing. It feels a little strange being around strangers.â
Stiffened figure, avoiding eye contact, the iconic âhow do I NOT appear as an awkward messâ head tilt, accompanied by her out of place confusion. Yep, sheâs gotten down with the awkward sickness!
âMy name is Kido Mukai,â she fiddled with her hair with a stone soft vocal, âNice to meet you Miss Magorobi. I can ensure your fine.â
âI guess youâve gotten an invitation as well?â
Even with the otherâs anxiety poking through, Emma didnât mind one bit. She understood how it felt personally if not from her own battles with anxiety, from her family. âItâs alright to feel anxious in a party. If the main part of the venue gets too much, we could move further back to step away from people. That might help you calm down a bit.â She only smiled at the other, her suggestions although small, were genuine. âYouâre correct about the invitation, although I likely wouldâve come regardless. A movie star not show up to a party where thereâs a large gathering? Sounds a bit silly doesnât it?â She rested her cheek on her hand.
âGuess so. Iâm not one for fame. I justâŠwork and pine away so I donât exactly understand your way of life.â Kido didnât question Emma or lead anything to possibly knowing her from her acting in movies.
She never really was one for movies per se. Sheâs more of the on stage theater type, musicals, kind of person.
âYou seem happy with your path. With how extroverted personality itâd make sense youâd be an actress. Itâs not for everyone.â
âTruthfully, my rise to fame wasnât all that easy. I had plenty of times when I started having troubles even getting a few small commercials. Everyoneâs work is different but being introverted doesnât mean youâll be locked out of any work.â Reminiscing of the early days⊠It really was a struggle back then. Getting driven from place to place by someone close to her and cheering her on in the background. âHad it not been for my family cheering me on, who knows how far Iâd get. I donât think Iâd trade anything for the world for where I am now. Do you mind if I ask what exactly it is you do for work though?â
âIâm a mortician. I embalm those who passed away. Iâve figured out ways to embalm animals for those who want to give their pets the same treatment as their human counterparts.â Kido explained with some hesitation spotting on occasion.
âI do other things like undertaking and helping with paper work. I work in several mortuaries after school and at night. Itâs not a glamorous job or talent to have. Iâve delt with my fair share of snide remarks and rumors. I just deal with it and try to get it over with.â
From how she briefed on her experience at the academy showed some passive aggression. It was common for some ultimate students to look down on other talented peers or the reserved course. Kido didnât seem to like her treatment but just puts up with the bull the other students give her daily. Thereâs more though she rather not ramble on about stupid highschool drama or something equivalent.
While some of those words had completely slipped over Emmaâs head, she understood enough it meant working with the dead. W-wait⊠Was she talking to an actual Ultimate? Oh god has she been making a fool out of herself by talking so much? âI can only imagine how much stress youâd get piled onto your shoulders, much less the lack-of-sleep from something like that. Please tell me you get the minimum required hours of sleep at least.â Health in general is important, but the idea of having to do schooling and then work back to back like that can already be draining for someone. Sheâs seen some co-workers of hers struggle with that in the early stages of actingâŠ
Kido grew an off expression. Sleep? Oh, the livings way to rest their body. Itâs a puzzling concept now. Technically her resting in one place for hours doing nothing fits the criteria.
âI do. Iâve worked my day to a tee. I usually get sleep in of I get done early or have free time.â Kido did her usual scripted reply to a precarious question, âIâm also sure I eat. Itâs simple to plan everything and make changes when needed.â
Kido wasnât surprised by Emmaâs concerns even if she was confused by whyâd she worry about someone whoâs little more than a stranger. Of course, Kido didnât have a good way to pickup on what someoneâs concerns centering her are about. Being a shut-in dose a number to a person on top of what she deals with on a daily basis. It wasnât the present matter at hand; she did miss her sanctuary away from the living.
âYou shouldnât have to worry about me. Iâm rather a self-sufficient person.â Kido reassured.
âI feel itâs better to be safe then sorry in general if ones health may be in danger some way or another. Perhaps a habit of worrying about one of my own siblings. Iâm glad youâre able to get what you need although, youâre meant to sleep for at least eight hours a night.â Even if the other was a stranger, it didnât matter to her. Sheâd worry about anyone who is struggling in health department in general. âPlanning that far ahead seems like a blessing in disguise. Despite being an actor, work is often spontaneous for me and Iâd have to leave home for long times.â In a way, perhaps sheâs a bit jealous of the way Kidoâs life seems to lead them.
âIt makes sense. I can get that sort of thing happen time to time. Pain in the ass but worth it in the end. Besides, thereâs few ultimates who are or similar to me. I believe Iâm the only one who deals with death in the school population-â -she blinked- âcanât blame the school. No one wants these talents usually.â
Kido rubbed her neck, taking off her specialized counselor in the process. She felt dull senses of overheating only for her to push them away. She didnât realize how soft or comfortable sheâs gotten. Of course, her âlifeâ is going to be exposed at some point.
âTo put it bluntly, I work as a mortician. I ensure that the dead rest in peace and their wishes are met. Youâll be surprised at how many people will go nuts cause you respect the passingâs wishes and not the living. Itâs most screwed up thing Iâve experienced personally. Iâm called LD by my coworkers. Theyâre probably the only ones who I care about in aâŠum⊠associated wayâŠI think? I donât know.â
âTruthfully, I donât actually know much about Hopes peak. Nor am I an actual Ultimate. Here they are kind of used to keep up appearances. That might be another reason why I may not stand out as much to you. There are some people here who did go to school though!â Sheâs just a tad bit too young to even go, if the academy still stood that is. How was she meant to explain the situation without giving away too muchâŠ. No, thereâs no reason to get others involved in this right now. She waved her hand around to dismiss her own comments. âNevermind that. Is the academy really that difficult when it comes to picking its talented?â
Somehow hearing about the passings wishes not being fulfilled made her question if this whole thing was what any of them wanted. They never really died though, so⊠maybe itâs alright? âA nickname from coworkers can be wonderfully affectionate. Sometimes though the names arenât always the nicest.â She let out an awkward laugh. âHow are you able to tell what the dead wish for if theyâve already passed on?â
"Not exactly. The scouts tend to do an evaluation; they're generally nice. They evaluate if you fit the academy's criterias. The issue with these criterias is how it's written. That's why few get into the academy. Both academics and the talent have to meet a certain threshold mainly. There's a specific criteria for those who have disabilities. Both are the same thing really. Academics tends to weed a lot out."
Kido started up again, "The talent itself is an interesting process. They'll have you do different tests to measure what lead you to take up or choose what someone does. Once the interest is measured l, they have a performance test with a specialist to see if you can- well- do said talent. The third one is a lesser done one. I had to do it with a handful of others. The third test is saved for talented people who are labeled as possible mastery candidates. To put it in a nutshell, the test is to see if the chosen can reach mastery. I can't remember much about my experience but I got an ensured spot into the academy."
Kido mentality kicked herself. Can't really simplify the processes down to general events, can she? Bah, it's mostly to explain to answer questions before getting asked.
"There's wills done by the person. It's a document with what an individual wants done once past on. Distributing money, assets, and who would take in a pet. A will also covers what kind a ceremony they'd want or how they'd like to rest. Some people want to be cremated or buried in a grave yard. A will should cover all that's wanted. Of course, there's those who'll contest said will. This doesn't happen often by good merit. It's a strange thing to talk about cause I've seen the pettiness hit the courts but, it's not a good thing when on contests a will usually."
