This was definitely…She was adjusting, she supposed. It really was just like home, just…slightly off. But she had at least managed to find a job, since it didn’t feel right to stay in and ponder the situation. But today was a day off, and that had left her trying to figure out what she ought to do. In the end, she settled on the exercises she’d been given in Physical Therapy.
It kept her mind busy, and plus, it didn’t hurt to keep up with the practice. There were still aches and pains, things that probably wouldn’t ever go away completely, but the exercises helped.
When she’d finished her exercises, she moved to the kitchen, planning on getting a glass of water and rest, only to be startled by the loud bang. Shiho whirled around, her eyes wide as she braced herself against the counter. Every muscle in her body jumped to fight or flight until she belatedly remembered there had been another name in the letter.
The brunette let out a heavy exhale, forcing herself to take several slow, deep breaths to quell the rising panic. At least she wasn’t quite as jumpy these days. Still, she could sympathize with the other–this was a bizarre situation with no real answer to why they were here. Just…suddenly dropped in.
“Hello,” she greeted, once she was able to calm herself down. “I guess you just got here?” Well, that was probably a dumb question, considering the other girl’s panicked shout.
“I’m Shiho… I wish I could tell you what’s going on here but honestly, I don’t know. Would you like something to drink? It might be best to sit down. I can at least tell you what I know.” She could imagine this was probably a lot to go through, and really, it was probably thanks to Amamiya-kun being there that she’d even been as calm as she was when she woke up here.
Startled by the gentle greeting in her panic, Iroha jumped. Pink hues locked onto the female before her in surprise but also with a tinge of wariness. Her heart was racing but she decided to listen to the other’s -- Shiho’s -- words. It served to calm the teen down and she placed a hand to her chest, gripping at the fabric of her school uniform and taking a deep breath. One, two, three.. There we go.
There was no reason to suspect Shiho when she explained that she was unsure either. Yachiyo wouldn’t be so trusting but Iroha had a good feeling about her. But even if push came to shove she didn’t have the means to protect herself. There was also the chance that she was dead and this was the afterlife. Was Shiho meant to be her guide? But then how could a guide know so little?
“Um, thank you.. I’ve calmed down now.. Sorry.” It was a sincere but awkward apology as the girl couldn’t help but feel a tinge of shamefulness at her earlier display in the face of such calm. “I’ll take something to drink.. Thank you.” Now that the adrenaline had died down she could tell she felt rested but peckish but she wouldn’t bother Shiho with that.
