An underrated part of The Princess and the Dragon route is that it confirms something huge about the Princess:

she can hear you pick up the blade.

Even before you come down the stairs, she knows that you are an enemy. Or at the very least, she is a threat to you in some way.

My personal interpretation is this is why you get the different base princesses depending on whether you choose to pick up the Pristine Blade in your first route.

Yes, she is a creature of perception in that your perspective of her changes her. But she is also a creature of perception in that her perspective of you changes her, too

#YEAH. YEAH #my first thought when I heard that noise was ‘oh god is he gonna kill me??’ and then immediately realized how hypocritical that was #I picked up the blade more often than not just out of self preservation like if things go south or she hates me #but now I Know #slay the princess

So I’ve begun replaying ISAT for the bookclub thing; you’re encouraged to liveblog, but I don’t really like that so I hope that the notes I took while playing are sufficient! I wrote a lot more than I thought I was gonna (under the cut since again there’s a lot)

I find it very funny that supposedly every time our voices bicker and argue, the princess is just left there, totally unaware.

She seemingly acknowledges this too! After a while of back and forth in our mind, she’ll pipe up because she’s noticed we’ve gotten lost in our thoughts. She must think we have trouble with zoning out. She’s not necessarily wrong, I guess.
