i just find ralsei and flowery so fascinating. the fact that flowery is essentially to asgore what ralsei is to kris. a darkner that has waited their entire life to meet their lightner, help them, make them happy. they both have these massive complexes around being "useless", not strong enough to help, expendable. neither of them have any sense of identity outside of their lightner...except ralsei is slowly developing one...and flowery never fucking gets the chance to. he dies for a lightner that mere seconds ago was telling him that he'd been, essentially, kidding the entire chapter when he reciprocated flowery's affection. it upsets ralsei, because they know they'd do the same for kris in a heartbeat.

I really need Flowery to live because I know, even if they try hard not to think about it, I know Ralsei is going to come up with a devastating comeback to something Flowery said in 24 hours, something that would just completely catch him off guard. render him speechless before he says, "Heh, not bad..." like he's still cool but Ralsei totally made him look uncool for once and they'll both always know it.

so I really need him to live so Ralsei doesn't have to think about that undelivered retort for the rest of their life.
