This is a selective, private, mutuals only, canon-divergent blog for Merida from Disney’s Brave. 

My default verse is set after the events of the movie. So if you’d like something before or even during, reach out to me and I’m sure we can come up with something!

Please use the usual roleplay etiquette: no godmoding, no stealing, and please be respectful and kind to one another.

Please do not pester me for replies. My blog is medium / low activity. Sometimes I may feel certain muses or storylines over others, but this doesn’t mean I’m ignoring you! If it’s been like a month and you think I may have forgotten, that’s fine! But please don’t push me about it after only a few days; this will result in me feeling uneasy and then I may not feel like writing at all. 

Drama free zone! I do not tolerate ooc drama or callout posts, this is a hobby. Of course, I will make exceptions if someone is exhibiting dangerous behavior, but otherwise please leave me out of it.

Shipping. I enjoy shipping as much as the next person but all ships will rely heavily on chemistry. Merida is demi, so she needs strong bonds before anything forms.

Considering I have quite a few myself,  I’m perfectly fine with OCs as long as there is enough information for me to go off of.

Currently, I am fine with duplicates of my muse and other characters she interacts with unless they are exclusives. 

Format & Other:

Merida’s accent: We all know she has a very strong accent, but due to how my brain works, I will not be typing out the accent fully. I will for slang and shortening words, but I don’t want anyone to struggle with trying to decipher what it is she’s saying…if that makes sense.

This blog uses animated icons, small texts, banners, and at times, colored text. My writing partners never have to follow my text format and I don’t mind others being iconless.

Her face claim is Ellie Bamber in William Tell (2024). However, I do lean towards her animated icons.

This blog may contain mature themes, including, but not limited to: violence, possible death, toxic relationships, etc. Smut will not be written on this blog, if those situations ever arise, they will be set in certain verses and they will be reserved for discord. 

Also, if you’re posting smut on the dash, pleaseeeee do it under a read more. I will block if I have to.  

I may watch the show later, but as of now, I’m not well-versed in OUAT.

So sorry but replies will be on hold until after the thanksgiving holiday.

So the last two week have been very hectic for me. The husband got a offered a new job that we simply can't turn down. Which is amazing! But he currently has a company car, so this past week we've been trying to figure things out which have left me a little overwhelmed. We're having to get an entire new wardrobe for him and I just got a new car so he can take my old one to and from the new job. So things are going really well but man, it all happened so fast. So I haven't had time to be here. I'm going to use the break relax and get back some of my energy. Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about replies and my inbox! Just need some time to breathe. But to those who celebrate, have a nice thanksgiving break!

[  broken  solace  ]  the  sender,  searching  for  a  quiet  area,  accidentally  disturbs  the  receiver  in  their  own  moment  of  solace.

[  get  off  the  road!  ]  the  sender  knows  that  some  bandits/thieves  are  coming  down  the  road,  and  drags  the  receiver  into  the  nearby  brush  to  protect  them.

[  slippery  slope  ]  winter  setting!  the  sender  grabs  onto  the  receiver's  arm  to  avoid  losing  their  balance  on  an  icy  patch  of  ground.

[  wild  berries  ]  our  muses  run  into  each  other  whilst  one,  or  both,  are  picking  wild  berries.

[  lost  my  way  ]  the  sender  spots  the  receiver,  who  seems  lost,  and  approaches  to  ask  if  they  need  help  finding  their  way.

[  STOP  !  ]  the  receiver  hears  the  sender's  voice  yell  out,  warning  the  receiver  that  they  are  about  to  step  into  an  animal  trap  sender  has  set.

[  mistaken  identity  ]  the  sender  approaches  the  receiver,  about  to  start  a  conversation,  before  stopping  and  saying,  "oh, i'm sorry,  i  thought  you  were  someone  else..."

[  can  you  reach  that?  ]  the  shorter  of  our  two  muses  asks  the  taller  to  reach  a  piece  of  fruit  from  a  tree,  or  something  from  a  higher  shelf,  etc.

[  work  for  food  /  board  ]  the  sender  asks  the  receiver  if  they  can  work  for  a  hot  meal  and  a  place  to  sleep  for  the  night.

[  ripped  and  torn  ]  the  receiver  has  a  torn  garment,  and  the  sender  offers  to  stitch/repair  it  for  them.

[  hottest  day  yet  ]  the  sender  strips  of  their  clothes  and  is  enjoying  a  swim  to  cool  off,  after  a  moment  they  realise  they  are  not  alone  when  they  spot  the  receiver.

[  a  storm  on  the  horizon  ]  dark  clouds  roll  in,  the  wind  picks  up,  and  the  receiver  hears  a  knock  at  their  door.  the  sender  is  there,  asking  for  shelter  as  the  rain  begins.

[  follow  the  smoke  ]  the  sender  follows  the  sight/smell  of  smoke,  worried  a  fire  may  threaten  them,  and  instead  comes  across  the  campsite  of  the  receiver.

The faint notes of a lute could be heard coming from the hillside, but unlike normal, it wasn’t accompanied by a Gaelic tongue. The tune seemed rather solemn, reflecting the mood of its player. With a heavy sigh, she gave one last strum before falling back into the grass with a quiet groan. Her arm soon covered her face to shield her eyes from the sun.

There are so many tiny things to notice in this shot. First off, look at Merida’s absolutely frantic breathing in the first and second gifs and the desperate squirming in the third. There are also so many subtle changes in facial features as terror comes over her. I’m mesmerized in the second gif where her eyes widen very briefly and she takes in air before she screams. Then there’s Mor’du. The muscles jiggling as he roars, the saliva strings, and lest we forget the flickering flames in his eyes. It’s amazing they fit this much great animation and wee details in a few-second shot.
