I'm a big Darkstache shipper, A.K.A Darkiplier x Wilford shipper, so a lot of content on this blog will feature those two. If I'm in the mood, maybe I'll occasionally write something that doesn't involve them at all.
Now, for the ask box... Sometimes it'll say "closed", but that's only for prompts and stuff. You can still send questions if you have any. If the ask box says "open", however, you can send any prompt/idea you want since I'm comfortable with writing a lot of things.
However...
I have the right to say no to anything I don't feel comfortable with, especially when it comes to nsfw/18+/nsft requests.
Speaking of which, I will accept nsfw/18+/nsft requests and post the first sentence or two on here before adding a link to my AO3 so you can finish reading it there.
My buddy, @eyesore-boi , is the reason this fic exists. He has so many creative ideas, so after reading this and seeing his doodles based on it, I got inspired enough to actually write something! A mini series even! Hehe... Without further ado...let's dive right on on!
(Also, I'm using @viviansturns divider and will possibly keep using it in the future.)
“...”
This was horrible. Just plain…horrible. Nothing could possibly come out of this except tragedy. This could go wrong in so many ways… Dark didn't even know how this happened in the first place. Why..why was his husband…
“...Why are you small now?” Dark managed to ask after much open mouth staring, elbows resting on his desk while his hands were tangled in his hair. Still unable to tear his gaze away from the love of his life. Who just appeared on his desk out of nowhere, which was normal, but his size on the other hand… Hell, the eccentric couldn't be any bigger than his hand now. His hand! Anything could happen while he was this size! He could be squashed, sat on, tripped over, or…or he could fall off a high ledge by accident, or—
A tiny finger poking his arm put out that burning train of thought. …For now.
“What's wrong with that?”
It was a very innocent question. Proven as Wilford’s head tilted to the side with a grin, which often happened whenever the guy was genuinely confused and/or curious. So you could imagine the newfound horror spreading across Dark's face upon realizing that the other was blind to the new dangers awaiting him. That, or he just didn't care enough about them.
Fuck…
Today was going to be a long, terrible day, wasn't it? …It was just for a day, right? His husband wasn't going to be stuck this size forever, right? …Right?! “N-nothing, my love. I just…don't understand why this happened… Do you perhaps know how long this will possibly last?” Please say not long, please say not long, please—
“No clue! I really don't have any control over this and it varies every time!”
Oh dear God… If it was possible, the entity’s worry for Wil’s safety suddenly tripled. “What do you mean ‘it varies’? Why did this even happen? What is this?!” Without meaning for it to happen, Dark's tone raised as his hand flew out, gesturing towards his love’s new height. Not realizing how his aura flashed briefly while doing so.
Wilford definitely noticed, however. That much was obvious when a face was made before the man patted his arm in a reassuring manner. “I'm not sure what got your knickers in a twist, sweetie, but it's quite alright. Why don't you take a big ol’ breath for me? There's no need for all this senseless worrying.”
Now that made Dark freeze for a second. A little slow on why breathing was more important than his love being squish size. Just as he was about to say as much, however, that’s when he realized that Wil was…right. Stress won't help the situation. He needed to take a moment and calm down to handle this more appropriately.
“Do try not to worry yourself with such silly questions too much. Try seeing this as a fun little adventure instead, darling~” A giggle tumbled from his lover’s mouth after a few seconds. “Heh, little… Get it?”
And there goes the rest of his worries; carried away by the lovely sound of his husband's contagious laughter. No matter how small it was, it was difficult to not crack a smile as his gaze softened. “Alright Wil, I'll try. Just…stay close to me, if you can. Please.” As he made the request, Dark brought his hands down to Wil’s level, hoping he'd take the offer. After all, he can't have his flower being squashed now.
“No promises, but I do love the idea of hitching a ride via a giant lover!”
Without further ado, much to his relief and adoration, Wilford hopped onto his hands. Eyes shining brightly with excitement as a large grin sat under their mustache. Clearly eager for this new “adventure”, which…Dark suppose he could get behind — maybe — as long as his darling lover stayed right where he was: in his hands, where the grey being was able to admire their stunning look of joy while keeping him safe.
Yeah, he could do this for him. Everything will turn out just fine. How could they not when he was literally holding a ray of sunshine?
Barely two minutes had passed since the plane left the ground, yet the android's mechanical heart was already beating faster. The rise and fall of his chest quickens the longer he's off the safety of the ground. Despite knowing the statistics of plane crashes, that did nothing to soothe him. Though, it wasn't that he was afraid of a crash. It was more so being so high up. He knew the culprit for it was his acrophobia. Something he never told anyone. For he had no reason to reveal his phobia, nor wanted others to have more power over him than they already did. He despised being unable to override direct commands, just as much as he held a hatred toward his fear. Yet, there was nothing he could do to resolve either ordeals. Not even searching calming techniques up to deal with the building panic inside him helped.
In fact, nothing was helping. Not taking slow, deep breaths, nor imagining himself someplace else that was on the ground. Therapy was an option, but he wasn't about to go to some stranger for help. He rather kill the person to fulfill his primary objective of destroying all mankind. Yet, luck had not been in his favor since he was created. Google HAD to listen to others, to their ridiculous orders, and look where that got him. On a plane, thousands of feet away from the ground, trying to hold off a panic attack and failing horribly. If he was a filthy human, he would just take medication for moments like this. Though, he was an android with wires instead of a digestive system, so he couldn't take pills. He could try "sleeping", like one of the websites suggested. In other terms, for him at least, it meant powering off, which actually wasn't a terrible idea.
Unfortunately, he was panicking too much at this point to properly do it himself. Circuits were beginning to burn up. Processors were running faster than they should. His audio and visual processors were malfunctioning. He could no longer pick up the conversations of people in the rows behind him. Their voices cut in and out of existence. His eyesight was impaired at the moment as well. Glitches blocked his vision, which sometimes went entirely black before flickering on to a distorted, glitched-out image. Not that it mattered since there was an ERROR flashing in bold, red letters in his malfunctioning vision.
A new objective abruptly popped up through the mess of malfunctions he was experiencing. Though, he didn't need it since he was already wanting it beforehand. He wanted to be on the ground. He needed the ground. He was too high up. Too high! This shouldn't be happening to him! It didn't make any sense that a software bug was causing this fear! He wasn't like Bing- Bing. He needed Bing. Wait- That made even less sense! That idiotic bot wasn't here, and wouldn't be able to help anyways! All that moron would do was annoy him and make things worse! What he needed was to be on the ground! Not thousands of feet in the air! He needed to get off! He needed to get to the ground. He needed to get off this plane and back on Earth's ground! He needed- He neè̶̯̮̯̘͓̊d̴͛̈́e̶̤̦̦̼̬̜̣͇̾͆̚͘d- Get off! Groư̶̔͋̅̕n̶͖̱̲͈̫̍́͑d̴͍͈̍͋͆͝! He- He needed- off-

★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★
Everything faded away as a void of nothingness greeted him as Google shuts down. Not going to be online for a few hours while he reboots, which was actually both a blessing and a curse. He didn't have to deal with the pesky phobia for the rest of the flight, but the aftermath of reboots were quite bothersome. They made him wish he could take himself apart so he removed the bug in his code. Unfortunately, he couldn't, and the android didn't trust anyone else to do it for him, so he was forced to suffer like this until the day he's unable to function comes.
It was a sweltering summer day, the hottest it has been since the season began. Now the heat wouldn't be a problem since they had an air conditioner and a pool. Unfortunately, though, the AC broke down a couple days ago, and the parts Google needed to fix it wouldn't arrive for a few more days. As for the pool, something went wrong even with that to make it unusable for a couple days. So that left nothing but shade for the egos to try to cool off and sweat less. Though, that wasn't satisfactory enough for anyone. Especially for a certain colorful man that tended to be dramatic.
"Daaarrk! I'm hooot! And I don't mean my fabulous looks! I mean it's hooot oouut!" The sun-kissed tone male whined, wearing only boxers while laying on the floor of his office. Despite his attempts to persuade Wilford to put something more decent on, the man wouldn't budge. Complaining it was too hot to move, and that more clothes would just make him sweat more. It was starting to grate on his nerves as he tried to put up with the insufferable ego. Especially since the heat was affecting his cold, dead body as well. That usually doesn't happen when it's summer, but that just proved how hot it was today. "Daarrrk!"
"What?!" He growled out, before taking a breath to try to calm himself. So he can try to take a more levelheaded approach. "...What exactly do you wish for me to do about it, Wil? I cannot control the weather, the parts for the AC won't be here for a few more days, and you made the pool unsanitary," the grey entity gritted out. Growing a bit more irritated as he remembered the reason for the pool being filthy and unusable. It was so ridiculous that he wished yesterday's event was a fever dream.
🔹✴🌸✴🔹
The dark entity had decided to go out and take a stroll around the manor. There was a lovely cool breeze to balance out the heat, and a short break didn't sound too bad. While he was walking and enjoying the quiet, he suddenly heard a quack. Though, at first, he simply thought it was a duck that flew overhead. So he carried on with his walk... only to come across the pool full of ducks. Of course, the grey being was bewildered by the sight till he spotted his boyfriend happily watching the ducks. The scene slowly made more sense, but he still wanted answers. So he approached Wilford and stared at him with a somber look. "Wil... Would you care explaining what exactly is going on?" Dark tried to ask in the calmest tone he could muster.
The eccentric man looked at him with a huge, proud smile. Obviously not seeing the issue, nor realizing that he was in trouble as he greeted the other. "Darkling! Oh goody! I thought I would have to get you to show you my fantastic idea!" Dark raised an incredulous eyebrow as he prompted for an answer again. "I assume your idea has something to do with the ducks swimming in the pool as we speak?"
"Oh yes! You see, I wanted to go for a dip, but there were bugs floating in the water! I didn't want them getting in my hair, but I also wasn't feeling up to getting them out. That's when it came to me! Ducks! They eat insects and bugs, and like swimming! So why not get some and let them clean the pool while getting a snack as well? It works out quite perfectly!" The oblivious man exclaimed, still proud of himself for thinking of such a "amazing" idea.
As for Dark, he was not smiling as he processed what was said. "So let me get this straight-" Wil interrupted with, "But neither of us is straight!" The head ego merely sighed deeply, trying to control his growing aggravation. "As I was saying- You were too lazy to get the bugs out yourself, so you got ducks?" Before the other got the chance to say anything about not being lazy, he continued, "Wilford... despite the hint of smart thinking in that idea, the idiocy of it counteracts it." For the next couple of hours, Dark berated his boyfriend as they got rid of the birds.
🔹✴🌸✴🔹
"Well, how was I supposed to know that they would've made the pool a mess?" That froze Dark in his tracks as he processed what was just said. "How were you- Wilford! I know you know how the digestive system works. You know what goes in one end has to come out again at the other. Did you honestly not expect those birds to shit in the water? Or that their feathers wouldn't drift off into the water as well?" Wil remained silent, pouting as he got scolded like a child again. "It's-" "But Daark-" "Do not 'But Dark' me, or interrupt me, again today. I am not in the mood. It's your own fault that you, nor any of the others, can't go swimming right now. As for the crew that usually takes care of the pool, they won't come till the temperature is more suitable for working conditions. So unless you're melting, either stop whining and let me work in peace, or go complain somewhere else." With that, the entity gone back to his paperwork.
As for the eccentric on the floor, he doesn't move, wanting to be with the other. So he doesn't make a sound as he remained on the ground. Well, he does make a noise, but it's only a sigh about having to be quiet while he suffered in this ungodly heat. Then, a minute later, he shot up with a wide grin when a thought occured to him. "Dark! I have an amazing idea!" He announced, and those words made the raven-haired male groan. "Wilford-"
"Lets go to the beach!" That made him pause as he considered it. Now that wasn't actually a terrible idea... Looking over at the other, he offered a small but genuine smile. "That's an excellent idea, Wil. Besides, I am long overdue for a break," he replied. His smile only widen when he saw how happy his partner got that they were doing his idea. "How about you go tell the others and that they should get ready, while I prepare for the both of us?" He requested as he set aside the papers on his desk.
★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★
"Okie-dokie-lokie Darky!" The bubbly man excitedly answered as he stood up. Before he left, he skipped over to Dark and kissed his boyfriend's cheek, who softly blushed and chuckled warmly. Amused that Wil was up and moving despite whining earlier it was too hot to do so. "We're going to have so much fun!" Wilford exclaimed as he skipped to the door and left. The fact that the bubblegum pink-haired ego was still only wearing boxers made Dark chuckle again. While there were moments that made him question why he was with the fool, he still loved his chaotic boyfriend.
I deeply apologize for how long this took to make and post. The reason it did was cause I have been busy and I lost motivation to write this. Though, I regained my motivation and was finally able to finish and post this! Again, I'm sorry for the long wait. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy this!

"W.... W-W-Wil?"
No... This- This had to be some sick, vivid nightmare or something... He wasn't holding his husband off the ground by the throat, while his other hand held his bloody heart... "Th-this can't be r-real... P-please s-say someth-thing, W-Wilfers..." The only response he received was a deafening silence, something that is rare to come from the pink-haired male. No... "...W-W-Wilford..... P-pl-please...." He pleaded, desperate for this to be a nightmare or even a sick joke. Anything would be better than the reality of the situation... Though, the longer he stared at the expressionless face of his lover, limp as blood gushed from the gaping hole in the chest as blood trailed down from the mouth, his denial crumbled.
"N-no..." Dark breathed out, his vision becoming blurred with tears as his grip slackened out of shock. Nausea built up as he flinched at the sound of the other's body hitting the floor. "...N-n-no..." It only got worse when he realized he was still holding Wil's heart. The heart that was no longer beating because of him... He dropped it as he fell to the floor as his knees became weak. Sickness quickly rose and forced it's way up his throat. The office floor became more of a mess as he threw up whatever was in his stomach. Not that he cared about the state of his floor or office. The only thing he truly cared about was his partner.
The man who glowed like the sun itself whenever joyous and cheerful. The man who's eyes sparkled like glitter when happy and excited. The man who loved candy, parties, fun, animals, his weapons, music, dancing, making treats, cuddling and so much more... The man that loved him despite all his flaws and saw something in him that others didn't. Something he didn't even see in himself... The man that was the light of his life and made life worth living. The man that could make him smile and laugh, even in his darkest moments. The man that helped him see things in a different way and helped him learn how to love. To be vulnerable in front of somebody and trust that they won't break him even further... The man that flooded his cold, dead heart with warmth... The man that comforted him when things became too much...
But now, that man wasn't here to comfort him and wipe away his tears. Instead, the colorful man laid limp in a puddle of their own blood a foot away from him. The other's sun kissed skin turning pale and most likely cold... Cold just like him... All because he passed out while working and had a nightmare of... him. That vile, rat bastard of an actor.
🔹✴🌸✴🔹
It was so vivid, his nightmare, that he didn't even realize he woke up and that it was over. He thought it was still actually happening, and that the bastard was in his office. Taunting him. Provoking him to fight. It enraged him that the asshole had the gall to show himself to begin with. So of course he got even more pissed off when he, or at least who he thought was Actor Mark, touched him. Wanting answers and the guy dead, he growled out,
"You-"
Then he snarled as he yelled,
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?!"
The actor only chuckled darkly as they took their hand back. "Now that's no way to greet an old friend, Dark." It was spoken with faux benevolence and it disgusted him. Especially when they laid their hand on his arm again.
Furious, he growled deeply before roughly pushing the vile actor away.
"FUCK OFF YOU SELFISH AND SOULLESS MURDERER!"
It pleased him to witness Actor Mark fall onto his ass. The trembling and shakey breath that escaped the guy surprised him though. Since he couldn't recall a time the smug bastard was scared by him whenever the rat showed his face. Yet, despite being surprised, it filled him with pleasure to see. He wanted to see more of the fear.
Filled with a dark desire and rage, he stalked toward the guy and gripped them by the throat tightly, lifting them. The grey entity was too blinded by his fury and his belief of still being asleep to realize it wasn't Actor Mark. That it was actually his dear husband, Wilford, instead. So it only made him happy to hear the guy trying to beg and escape his hold. Due to that, he wanted the other to suffer a little longer, resulting in his grip tightening further as he glared at them.
"IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!"
Whatever poured out the snake's mouth gone unheard by him. It was all lies and tricks anyway. So, with a evil grin, Dark shoved his fingers into the actor's chest. A rather sinister chuckle left him as he dug his fingers further in. The pain he could see on the other's face was a sight to witness. It pleased him greatly that the rat bastard was finally feeling a smidgeon of the pain the guy inflicted on him and everyone he held dear.
Right as he gripped onto their heart and ripped it out, the other's finale words registered to him. He was about laugh at the absurdity of the words when it was like a veil was lifted from his vision. Suddenly, instead of seeing Actor Mark in his hold, he saw Wilford. His pitch black eyes, unaware that they were black in the first place, faded back to their normal dark chocolate brown. His eyes widen as he stared in disbelief and horror as his heart started to crack into pieces.
"W.... W-W-Wil?"
🔹✴🌸✴🔹
And now, here he is puking up his guts from shock from what he did. Roughly wiping at his mouth, he shakily looked at the body of his lover. "..W-Wilford..." The entity choked out before crawling toward the other, not caring about how filthy his suit was becoming from blood and vomit. He gazed at the person he truly loved before carefully gathering him into his arms. "..Oh W-Wil... I... I'm s-so s... s-sorry... P-please come... b-back... P-please...... I l-love you...." Dark is barely able to speak through the lump in his throat and the tears as he held Wil. The same way he held him the day when Wil saw this happening.
As he began to slowly rock them both, he started to quietly sing as well. Wil loved it when he sang, always saying he had the voice of an angel. However, he didn't feel like an angel. Yet, he still sang, even if he wasn't fully sure why. Perhaps it was some pathetic attempt to will his husband back to life. Even though it was impossible, he opened his mouth and sang. His tone broken and pleading as he does.
"...You are my sunshine... my only s-sunshine
You make me h-happy.. when skies are gray
You'll never know d-dear, how much I l-love you
P-please don't t-take... my s-sunshine... away....."
He trailed off as a sob broke loose from him as he clutched onto his husband tighter.
As Dark cradled the body against him and cries, it gone unnoticed how the hole in Wilford's chest was healing. The skin knitting itself back together. "W-Wil p-please..." Dark begged one last time, slumped over as he held onto the other even even tighter. Eyes closed tightly as he harshly sobbed, body shaking from the force of it.
Several minutes passed by until he heard a gasp and coughing, and then the rough yet sweet voice he thought he never hear again. ".....D-D-Darky?" He jerked as his head snapped up as he carefully moved the other, staring in confusion and shock. Completely perplexed as he gazed at the colorful figure through his tears. "...W... W-Wilford? How-" How was this happening? One second his beloved was dead, and now he was breathing? This... couldn't be real, right? He must be seeing and hearing things... Maybe he was so drowned in guilt and sorrow that he was hallucinating his dead husband being alive....
Before he can utter another word or think of another explanation, the hallucination looked at him and opened their mouth. There was fear in Wil's eyes, but the fabrication still tried to comfort. "....H-Hey...I-It's alright, D-Dark. I'm aw-awake. It's o-okay..." The illusion softly spoke in a soothing voice, even as he stuttered as he lightly placed their hand on his arm and gently rubbed it. "...I-it's alright. I'm awake n-now.. Pl-Please don't cry, Darkl-ling.. I h-hate seeing you c-cry, love." It sounded just like Wilford and the touch felt so real. Especially as the other brought the hand from their arm to his face, trying to wipe away the tears. Maybe this was... real... If it wasn't, he doesn't think he can live through his heart breaking again. It's barely able to put itself back together as it hesitantly tried to gather the pieces.
"...W-Wil? Is this.. actually h-happening? Are y-you really... a-alive?" The entity whispered in a broken tone. A thin sliver of hope mixed with it as a thought occurred to him. Wilford should've been in his 80's or 90's by now. Dead, even. After all, the events that took place at the manor happened in the 1920's. Yet, despite that, the eccentric man didn't look to have aged at all. Plus, with all the murder sprees, escaping the police and fights, there was no doubt he must've gotten seriously harmed sometime during them. Serious enough to bleed out from some inflicted wound and eventually die from blood loss... Maybe how the other was alive right now was a part of his many unique and unpredictable abilities. After all, Wilford defied space and time itself, all logic and anything else that makes sense. So maybe, just maybe, he defied even death itself.
"Of c-course I am, Darky. Didn't I-I tell you many times now that people always wake back up?" The bubblegum pink man asked, looking up at him in confusion. Yes, while Wil knew he would be back, that didn't make the situation of him getting attacked any less scary. After all, who wouldn't be frightened by their significant other, especially one referred to as a demon sometimes, ripping their heart out? Though, he isn't as afraid now cause his hubby seemed to be back to normal.
At the look given, and the lack of understanding death and how it actually worked, he laughed. It wasn't a humored laugh, or a sad laugh about the other's broken mind though. It was more of a 'I'm-so-fucking-happy-that-you're-alive-that-I'm-even-glad-to-hear-you-say-something-like-that' type of laugh. Dark actually felt really reassured by that as it helped him to see this was real. That it wasn't his mind playing a cruel trick on him. He was so relieved that he doesn't bother to try to explain that wasn't how death worked for everyone else. Just hugged his partner close and tight as he continued crying. They weren't sad tears this time. The raven-haired man was crying happy tears as he breathed in his lover's familiar scent, appreciating the warmth of his sun-kissed skin. Grateful how he can feel the other breathing and their heart beating strongly.
While Wilford was lost about why Dark laughed, he smiled and hugged back just as tight. Soothingly rubbing the other's back as they hug. Though, he frowned when he heard his partner starting to apologize. He spoke almost too fast and cried too much to understand, but he managed to catch what is being said. "I-I'm so sorry! I... I didn't m-mean to h-harm y-you! I thought you were that actor but it was just a b-bad dream! I couldn't tell that I woken up and I didn't see that it was y-you! I-I was just so caught up in my r-rage... B-blinded by it... That doesn't ex-excuse me for h-hurting you though! I'm so s-sorry Wilford! Please don't forgive me... I don't d-deserve your forgiveness... I'm a m-monster... A m-monster that should be l-locked up... I'm s-so s-s-sorry... You should just l-lea-"
"I'm going to s-stop you right there, mister." He interrupted with a soft but firm tone, moving away but holding onto Dark's shoulders so he can look him in the face. "First off, no one is gonna l-leave anyone. That's never gonna happen. How can I ever leave the person I love? It's just ridiculous! Also, what have we talked about you calling yourself a monster? That it isn't true. Right?" Despite the other opening their mouth to talk, he plowed on. Not gonna let the grey being protest or disagree with him. "That you're no such thing, and that you don't deserve to be chained up in some dark place far away from everyone. I mean, am I-I monster because I sometimes lose control of myself? Does that mean I should be locked up somewhere?" He questioned as he looked expectantly at the other.
"No! You're never a monster! But I'm-" Dark quickly got caught off again when it sounded like he was gonna talk bad about himself. "Exactly! If I'm not a monster for occasionally losing control of myself, then you're not a monster either," Wilford stated firmly, being genuine with each word that spilled out of him. "Also, guess what? I forgive you. Want to know why?" After he got a small nod after a few seconds, he resumed speaking, "Cause I love you. I understand that you were confused, that you didn't realize you were awake and that it was me you were a-attacking. That you thought I was someone else that angered you greatly. It was a misunderstanding and an accident. I don't blame you at all or hate you or anything. I love you, Dark, and I'll always understand. I know who you are, and it's not a monster like you believe yourself to be. You're a person who can be generous, caring, protective, loving, calming, and more once you let walls down. I love how you can b-be all of that and hot." He giggled at that very last bit, and so does Dark. It being weaker than his, but still sincere.
"Though, I love you, Darkiboo. I always will, no matter what," he finished with a warm smile. His face and voice full of love and sincerity. It's almost too much for Dark to handle. Though, he returned the smile with his own as a few more tears slipped down his cheeks as he sniffled quietly. "I l-love you too, Wil. I promise I'll never do s-something like this again. I'm sorry that I caused you p-pain. You're too precious and kind to be hurt in any way.. I love you, sweetheart. So m-much. I love you so much, darling, that sometimes it overwhelms me how much I do. I love you, Wil." He barely let the cotton candy loving man say it back as he pulled him in for a love-filled kiss.
As they kissed, there was a hesitant knock before the office door suddenly opened. "Sorry for the intrusion, but is everything alright in he-" Bim froze in his sentence as he took in the chaotic office, the vomit and blood, and the couple who looked worse for wear as they stopped kissing to see who knocked. "Uh..... I'll j-just... come back and check in later....." He trailed off, sounding extremely unsure, as he closed the door and walked away. Completely lost about what he just saw. He decided he didn't want to know.
After he left, both Dark and Wilford just look at the closed door, then at each other in silence before cracking up about what just happened. They laughed for a couple minutes before it died down and they just gazed at each other. "I love you." It was said at the same time, causing them to both chuckle and smile. Then they sweetly kiss one another again before going back to hugging each other. Not worried about the mess around them. Just happy that everything was alright now and that they had each other. They didn't need, or care for, anything else than that. Just each other and their love for the other as they comfort one another. It wasn't the best anniversary they had, but it was wasn't the worst since they still had each other.
And ever since that day, the event never repeated itself. Sure. There was some worries and troubles along the way, but they got through them. Together. Something that will never change. Just like their love for each other. As long as they're together, they know everything will be okay and that they'll be happy. They didn't need anything else, or anyone telling them, to know that.
Blood, gore, angst/kind of dark, swearing, violence, death
.
The sound of shoes hitting the floor was softened by the carpet in the bedroom as Dark anxiously paced. His gaze flickering around the colorful bedroom as he awaited the owner to return to the present. Now, the raven haired ego doesn't usually worry about a lot of people. It was actually rare of him to be this concerned. The only reason he was anxious was because the person was his boyfriend. A certain bubblegum pink-haired man that he cared for immensely. They, Wilford and him, have been dating for two years now. So of course he was naturally worried about him, especially when the eccentric man used a particular powers of his.
Warfstache had many unique and, seemingly crazy, abilities. One of them being able to go into the future. Temporarily, of course. However, Dark paced like a caged tiger, getting worked up by how long the candy loving fool has been gone. It usually only lasted a few minutes, sometimes even a hour. Rarely does it last more than an hour. Right now it's been about a half a hour and Wil has yet to return to the present world. Not that he really has control over the wacky ability. Him going and coming back just happens randomly most of of the time. So with each minute that passed by, Dark was getting more and more anxious.
His head snapped in the direction of a sudden gasp and loud thump behind him. It was Wilford, who was shaking as he took huge, irregular breaths as he sat on the floor. Gripping the part of his yellow button-up shirt that covered his heart, his face full of panic. His eyes were glazed over as confused and panicked noises escaped him. Seeming to be not aware of Dark, who slowly approached with caution and raised hands, knowing he needed to be careful since the man could get dangerous when like this. "...Wil?" The grey toned ego softly prompted, an attempt to get his attention, as he slowly came closer.
A yelp of shock and fear left the pink man upon hearing the familiar deep voice. "GEt aWAy frOM mE!!!" Wilford screamed in pure terror when spotting his boyfriend, his usual slur intensified and garbled. The darker ego froze in shock as he watched his lover scramble away to a corner of the room. Huddling in a tight ball, seemingly trying to make himself as small as possible. Between that and the fact that Wil wasn't pulling out his gun or dagger, or simply teleporting away, shocked Dark. It was so unlike the excitable murderer to not bring out a weapon, or disappear, when angry, upset or scared. The other's mind was clearly in shambles, more so than usual, and distress if he was acting like this.
So with extreme caution and hands still raised, he took small steps toward his panicked beloved. "Hey, it's alright... It's okay, Wil. It's just me. Remember? It's me, Dark. It's alright. I'm here. You're back and safe now. It's okay." He softly spoke, making his voice as soothing and gentle as possible. Though, it only seemed to cause the sweet male to cry and curl up tighter in a ball. "GeT AwAY! P-plEASe! I'm s-sorrY fOR... whATeVEr I dID! DoN'T h-hURt... mE! P-pleaSE D-D-DaRk!" The entity paused in his approach as he observed Wil with concerned eyes. Pained to see that his partner so frightened by him. Whatever Wil experienced in the future, it must of included him in some terrible way.
"Wil... I'm not gonna hurt you. I just want to help you relax and calm down before you pass out. Please let me help. It's okay. I promise I'm not going to cause you any harm. I would rather hurt myself than bring you any sort of pain. Please let me help you, sweetheart." As he quietly talked in a calming voice, he lowered himself to the ground, thinking it would help that he wasn't towering over the other. He didn't care if he might ruin his suit to crawl. It wasn't as important as helping his panic-stricken boyfriend, who was watching him with wary eyes filled with tears as he violently trembled and hyperventilated.
"......Y-yOU... p-p-prOMise?" Wilford questioned, his words sounding more like a whimper than anything. It made the darker ego's heart clench in pain as he couldn't recall the last time he seen the guy so unsure and scared. So he nodded his head with a small, reassuring smile. "I promise, dear. Will you please let me come near and hold you? I vow to you that I'm not going to hurt you." After staring at the raven haired man for a bit with blurred vision, due to tears, he gave a tiny nod. "O-okay....." With that, Dark resumed his way over to the other by crawling. Once close to the pink haired man, he sat up and carefully gathered Wilford into his arms. One hand on the back of Wil's head as the other arm was wrapped around the back. He kept his hold gentle as he began to slowly rock them to try to soothe the upset male, who cried even harder into the crook of his neck and shook while trying to breath and talk. "...I-I'm SOrrY!! It wAs so... tERrIfyINg!! I di-... I dIDn't--"
"Shhh... Shhh... It's okay. Don't try to talk right now. Just focus on breathing. Slow and deeps breaths, Wil. It's alright. You didn't do anything wrong, so no need for apologies, love. You don't have to explain right now either. Just focus on breathing slowly and deeply. Nothing else. It's alright. Shhh..." Dark gently interrupted the stuttering man as he slowly rocked him. Lightly rubbing soothing circles in Wil's back while starting to quietly hum. He was humming a song that always helped relax the madman.
"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Door bells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things"
He could feel his boyfriend press closer against him as he softly sang. As well as feel how the man was trying his best to breath more slowly and deeply like he said to. "That's good, darling. Just like that. You're doing so well. Shh..." After the encouragements, he continued on singing.
"Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad"
As Dark carried on to sing, the man in his arms gradually relaxed as the crying turned into sniffles. Which soon settled into silence as Wilford listened to the calming deep voice of his partner. Once the song reached it's end, the entity gently kissed the top of the cotton candy lover's head. "How are you feeling now? Any better?" He softly questioned as their rocking slowed to a stop. All he received as an answer was a small nod, which was alright but he wanted to hear the other's voice. "Please use your words, sweetheart. If you can't yet, though, just shake your head. It's alright if you don't feel ready to talk yet. Take all the time you need."
The suit wearing ego felt the now quiet man shake his head a little against his neck. He softly sighed but pressed his lips on Wil's temple again. "Okay. Just speak when you're ready. It's alright." Minutes go on by as he patiently waited for his beloved to talk as he securely held him. Just wondering to himself what happened in the future that made Wilford react in such distress. To make the big-hearted man react to Dark like that. About fifteen minutes passed by before he got the answer from the other male, who shifted and moved his face so his words weren't muffled by Dark's neck.
"...It started out okay and happy... I was on my way to you with some flowers and chocolates... Though... when I got to your office, you were mad about something... I didn't really understand why since you weren't making a lot of sense... I never seen you so pissed off before... Your eyes were completely black and your aura was going crazy... When I tried to figure out what was wrong and tried to calm you, you snapped at me and shoved me... I kept trying though... I think I just made it worse... cause next you.... y-you...." Wilford faded off as tears began to fill his eyes again as he reached up and gripped his hair. Eye squeezed shut as he whimpered, the memory fresh in his mind.
"Hey, hey, hey... It's okay. You're okay now. You're safe. You're safe now, sweetheart. It's alright," the entity quickly reassured. His other hand coming up to coax Wil's hand from his pink hair as he held onto Wil slightly tighter. Once he was sure his beloved wasn't hurting himself, he softly said, "Continue when you're ready, dear." As he waited for the man to speak again, he thought of what he heard so far. Black eyes and his aura acting wild? Snapping at and shoving Wilford? Sure. He occasionally snapped at the other when he was really stressed, but he never shoved him. Whatever happened to cause himself to act like Wil described must be real bad. A sense of dread filled him as he waited to hear what he does.
"Then you grabbed me by the neck and lifted me in the air... Ch-choking me... I was too confused and s-scared to think of teleporting away... You then said it was all m-my f-fault before y-you..." Wilford took a deep, shakey breath before quietly continuing, "You shoved your hand into m-my chest... I started to scream and begged you to stop... but you weren't listening... You just growled and looked at me with h-hatred... Then y-you... you p-pulled out m-my h-h-heart...." The pink and yellow man choked up and buried his face back in the crook of Dark's neck. While he doesn't understand death, that was still scary to experience for him. "...Then I-I was b-back here..."
Dark was shocked to hear what he did. He... He killed Wilford? His boyfriend? The man that is the light of his life? No... No... That couldn't be true... Though, Wilford was never wrong about what happens in the future. Whatever he witnesses always played out the exact way he saw it happen..... The dark entity doesn't realize he was crying till he felt thumbs wipe at his cheeks. He focused back on what was happening and saw Wil gazing at him, hands on his face. "...Please don't cry Darky... I'm alright... Mayhaps what I saw was false and won't actually happen..." Wilford quietly said, giving a weak hopeful smile, already trying to deny what he saw and forget it.
He stared back into those chocolate brown eyes and tried his best to return the smile. It wouldn't help soothe his boyfriend to see he was frightened as well. "...Maybe you're right, Wilfers... I'm so sorry that you had to go through that and that I was the one to cause you pain and panic... I love you. I love you more than you know. You're the light of my life and the only person that makes me truly happy. I love you so much Wil," Dark sincerely told him. "It's alright. I already forgiven you. I love you to the moon and back, and further beyond that, Darky. I wouldn't have it any other way," he whispered in a genuine tone.
The grey ego's dark eyes were filled with warmth as he gazed at his most treasured belonging. Wilford was his own person, just like Dark was his own being. Though, Wil was his, and he was Wilford's. That how it always was, and always will be, between them. So he carefully pulled his lover into a soft and love-filled kiss, Wil returning it with equal passion. After a while, they each slightly pulled away. Only to embrace each other as they comforted one another in the comfortable silence of the bedroom.
🔹✴🌸✴🔹
After that, years passed on by for the couple and they finally got married sometime during those years. The future the madman experienced had been long forgotten about. Wilford's power was funny like that. He, and no one else, knew when whatever he witnesses would happen. Whatever it was could happen in minutes, hours, days or months. Sometimes even years. So of course what Wil experienced was forgotten about as the years went on without incident. Though, what he experiences and witnesses in the future always happened. No matter what....
They been happily married for about seven years now, and today was their anniversary. So Wilford was on his way to his husband's office with a gift, which were flowers and chocolates. Red and black roses with Hersey kisses to be specific. Dark's favorite flowers and favorite sweet treat, besides from him of course. He was skipping with excitement to see his handsome hubby and his reaction to the first present. These weren't the only gifts that the ever hardworking ego was gonna receive though. However, as he drew nearer to the office, he saw a red and blue aura angrily pulsing from underneath the door. The pink-haired ego could hear an angered tone on the other side of it as well, one that could only belong to Dark.
Confused, and not really remembering what he saw years ago, he slowly opened the door. The sight that greeted him made his eyes widen. Dark's ever organized office was in chaos. Papers were all over the floor, chairs were laying on their sides, there were holes in the walls, and even the desk was flipped over. Though, what shocked him the most was the man of the office, who was pacing and muttering something under his breath, hands clenched tightly in fists. "...Darkling? What's wrong?" Wilford softly questioned, wanting to help his lover to calm down and relax. He closed the door behind him, set the roses and chocolates down, and slowly approached the other.
Though, the dark entity didn't seem to take notice of the words or the pink cotton candy lover's presence. Not until Wil cautiously placed his hand on Dark's arm and quietly repeated his question of what was the matter. The second he did, the grey ego whipped toward him and faced him with the scariest expression. His eyes were pitch black, his teeth bared, and nothing but anger on his face.
"You-"
Dark first growled out lowly before snarling at him.
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?!"
Wilford flinched and retracted his hand, startled by the reaction. Nervousness started to bubble up inside him, but he couldn't leave. He needed to help the man he loved. It would be wrong to just leave him in this state of mind and emotion. So, with a deep breath, he gently set his hand back on Dark's arm again, lightly rubbing it. "Hey... Darky... How does taking deep breaths and relaxing sound? Mayhaps tell me what's wrong, if you want to, once you're calm enough?" He softly suggested. If he phrased it any other way when Dark was like this, it would only worsen the situation. Since the other male did not appreciate to be told to do something when pissed off.
Though, his attempt seemed to be in vain since Dark only growled deeply again before shoving him harshly. A small cry of shock bursted from Wil as he stumbled back and tripped, falling onto his ass.
"FUCK OFF YOU SELFISH AND SOULLESS MURDERER!"
It hurt. Both physically and emotionally. Forcing him to realize how furious his partner was, as Dark never shoved him before or called him... that. Though, while he was more nervous and scared than ever, he was determined to help. So with calming breaths, he stood back up, holding his hands up in a soothing way like one would do with a wild animal. "Darky please-" His airway was suddenly cut off, blocking any more words from being formed. Before he knew it, he was in the air, a painful hold on his neck, choking him. "....D-D....D-D-DARK!!! St... stop it! Ple...ase!" He tried to yell out, but his words left him as a hoarse whisper.
His breath was ragged as he hands shot up to grab onto the hands around his throat, trying to pull them away as tears formed and slid down his face. Not understanding why the other was doing this, and too panicked to think of teleporting away. "D... Dar..k! P-please!" The usually calm and collected ego didn't seem to care at all that he was harming Wil. Just glowered at him and snarled with pure hatred in his ink black eyes. Truly looking like the demon a few of the egos refered Dark as. The vicelike grip around his neck tightened further, blocking his airway, making black dots appear in his vision.
"IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!"
If his eyes weren't already wide, then they were as wide as saucers upon hearing those words. The words triggering the memory of when he told his husband, boyfriend at the time, of this moment. Realizing what was gonna happen next, he drew in as much breath as he could manage. "Dark!!! P...please! I t-told you about.... this years ag...go! You're g-gonna-" Before he could say one more word, he got interrupted by the searing pain in his chest. Grey fingers were digging into it, and they belonged to the one and only Darkiplier, who chuckled darkly with an sinister smirk as he forced his hand into Wilford's chest.
".....P-please... I-I lo-love... you-u... Darky..." The ever loving and big-hearted man whimpered out, blood soaking through his shirt. His hands fell to his sides as his grew weaker and weaker as the red liquid flowed out. His eyes fluttered, despite his fight to keep them open to look at Dark. Hoping to catch a glimpse of the person that he fell in love with and was always there for him. Unfortunately, the battle to keep them open was lost. As they fell shut and everything became hard to hear, he felt something getting ripped out of him. Even though his heart was torn out by the man he loved, that wasn't what crushed his soul. No. Right before everything became black and nothingness, he heard the voice of his partner one last time. Sounding so shocked, startled, lost, horrified, and utterly broken.
A/N: I really need to work on posting stuff on time, lol Also, the title is not the best, I know, but it's suppose to be a play on words to "bump in the night."

Darkstache Week: Day 4 - Cryptids and creatures/Drive-in movies
𝕯𝖆𝖙𝖊 𝖎𝖓 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝕹𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙
Unlike the rest of the cars at the drive-in movie theater, Wil's popped out more than any other in the parking lot. It was mainly cause it was a 1959 Cadillac Convertible; the only pink and classic car there. It wasn't an issue though. Aside from a few impressed whistles, stares and compliments, everyone was more captivated by the horror movie than his baby.
Though, as good as the movie was, neither Dark or him were scared by it. There were no flinches or screams of fright whenever a jumpscare happened. They were kind of predictable, to be frank. Yet the classic knew how to build suspense and the acting was acceptable. So even if the two weren't afraid, and didn't scare easily in general, the couple still enjoyed themselves. And how could they not?
Dark had an arm wrapped around his shoulders, while his own held his lover's waist as his head rested upon their shoulder. His partner's head gently leaned against his as they quietly spoke amongst themselves. Either commenting on the movie projected on the big scene, or talking about their plans for the next few days. The conversations occasionally ventured away from the horror, opening up to lighter subjects. They usually returned to topics centered around Halloween, however. It wasn't bad though. In fact, it led to an interesting question.
"Hey Darkiboo?" Upon the hum that resonated beside him, the mustached man continued, not once lifting his head. Why would he when they were both comfortable? It would be just silly to change anything about the cozy moment. "I already know what you're going to be for Halloween, but if you could be a real monster or some type of creature, what would it be?"
Now that got the raven-haired fella thinking, never once having to ponder such a thing before. "Hm… I'm not entirely sure, but perhaps a vampire. I already seem to act like one, according to the others at home." he said after a couple minutes, a humored huff soon exiting afterwards. With his cold exterior, unique complexion and choice of style, it wasn't hard to imagine why they thought a vampire role suited the head ego.
"No, no, no-" His brows pulled together at that, forming a small crease. "I asked what you would want to be. Not what others think of you or what creature you already behave like." Wilford stated, surprising the entity since he didn't think his answer would've been rejected. Apparently it was wrong to think that in the first place. So forced to come up with something different, the male had to think deeper. What did he desire to be if the opportunity presented itself?
As he contemplated the question, silence filled the air between them until it eventually came to him. "...A werewolf." Before the other could prompt why, he already began giving an explanation. "It would be nice to actually experience warmth on my own. Without the assistance of some sort of material, or another person, I mean." While he took a liking to the heat of Wil's body pressed up against him, he couldn't help but be envious at times. Ergo, a werewolf. Especially since it meant he wouldn't ache as much during the cold seasons.
"Well then… while I can't make you a werewolf, I can do this if it's warmth you seek!" With that, the guy nuzzled closer to the other, earning a small chuckle and squeeze. "Also, I believe you'd make a rather fetching werewolf, my dear," Wil remarked, grinning. "Though, I think you're already a quarter of the way to being a big, ol' wolf."
"Oh? Am I?"
"Yeppers! Sometimes you growl, sounding like some kind of animal. You usually angry or frustrated when it happens, but it's still hot to hear~"
The grey being lightly shook, amused by his partner. "Hm… If you say so." He said before adding, "Though, I'm rather curious now as to what you would wish to be."
Unlike the ever so serious ego, it didn't take long at all for Wil to answer. "Either a merman or phoenix. They're quite beautiful creatures. Plus, the thought of being able to swim underwater forever with a pretty tail, or being able to fly fascinates me! It would be so fun as well! I mean, just imagine-" It was then the chocolate eyed fella began rambing, something that tended to happen often.
Not that Dark minded when it did. It was actually rather pleasant and intriguing to hear what was on his lover's mind. So he was perfectly content with listening to his lover's rambles, letting him talk without interruption. It was only when people drove off after the movie reached its conclusion that Wil stopped, looking around in slight surprise. "The movie is already over? It feels as if we just got here."
"Indeed," the entity agreed. "Though, I suppose that is how our dates usually go when we're having fun."
"Quite true, my beautiful dove~" A charming smile laid on Wilford's face as he met his beloved's gaze. "However… nothing is stopping us from appreciating the view of the night sky~ I'm even all bundled up to stargaze!" That was true. Unlike yesterday, he appropriately dressed for the weather tonight. So the man was not the least cold, especially not since he's been all cozy with his Darkling, who chuckled at him for finding a way to extend their date.
"I'm glad you did, Wil, since now I have no qualms about staying here a bit longer. But… I'm afraid there's a problem with your idea."
Puzzlement almost instantly clouded the eccentric's face. Wha-
"How ever am I supposed to focus on the sky when the most precious star in the galaxy is right here beside me?~"
★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★・・・・・・★
And just like Dark expected, it didn't take much more than that to draw out a soft blush and for their lips to meet, making him grin into the sweet kiss as he cupped the back of their head, deepening it. There being no better way to add to their night before it eventually ended.
"I told you to bring a jacket." Dark lightly chastised, glancing at his shivering lover, who hid their hands under their armpits in an attempt to keep warm. The two were taking a stroll through the nearby park, simply to enjoy the autumn scenery. It was quite the sight with the reds, yellows and oranges covering the ground, especially with the sun shining down upon them. Yet, unlike everyone else there, Wilford was the only one without a hoodie or jacket. Something the pink-haired fella was regretting at this point.
The only reason the entity wasn't in the same predicament was due to naturally having cold skin, so he wasn't really affected by the weather. Though, he still took a lightweight jacket to blend in more, and to avoid the possibility of catching a cold. He did try persuading the other to do the same before they left, but of course the fool was stubborn and insisted he'd be fine. That obviously wasn't the case after they were twenty minutes into their walk, but Wil was too proud to admit it.
"But I'm not cold! I'm just… giving myself a hug!" The man lied, earning a quirked brow since it hardly appeared like a self-hug. "Don't look at me like that, Mister! It's true! I'm just giving myself some well-needed affection since someone won't do it."
"Oh? Is that so? Well, perhaps someone should've listened to me earlier, otherwise they wouldn't need "affection" right now." Fingers raised and bent for that word, knowing that wasn't exactly what was needed at the moment.
Though, as the other grumbled in return and continued to tremble, Dark finally decided to show mercy. Besides, he couldn't have the man getting sick on him now. Not when Halloween was just around the corner. If the colorful male were to get sick, he'd be completely miserable and upset about not being able to participate on the holiday. Even though he already did so much for it by decorating the mansion all by himself. Well, up until the end at least.
So once his jacket was off, he caught up to Wilford who didn't notice he had stopped, and wrapped it around his lover's shoulders. He chuckled when a "Oh!" escaped the other at the action, watching as they looked over at him with wide eyes and a dusting of pink on their cheeks. "I hope this will suffice until we're back home." He said, and by the fond smile that bloomed across the eccentric's face, he knew it would. Though, he still listened nonetheless as the other spoke.
"Aw, you're such a gentleman! Thank you Darkling," he said. Truly appreciative of the gesture as he slipped his arms through the sleeves, zipping the front up. The warmth that almost instantly greeted him elicited a satisfied hum, more content than ever now. Especially since it was his boyfriend's jacket that he was wearing, making it all the more perfect.
However, before the dark entity could say a thing, an "Ooo!" suddenly came from the man beside him. Or at least, they were next to him. When the grey being shifted his gaze over, his boyfriend was running full speed ahead, immediately making his brows furrow. Why was he- Oh. Even before the yell cut through the air, drawing the attention of passerbys, he was already shaking his head in mild amusement. Not at all surprised at the male's antics.
"GERONIMOOO!!!" Shouted Wil as he jumped into a huge pile of crunchy leaves. Not caring at all how he must look to strangers for acting like a child. And honestly? Dark didn't mind either. While the man could be a handful half the time, Dark wouldn't have it any other way as long they were happy. Even if that meant his jacket getting dirty.
Darkstache Week: Day One - Decorating/Pumpkin Carving
𝕻𝖆𝖗𝖙 𝖔𝖋 𝖙𝖍𝖊 𝕯𝖊𝖈𝖔𝖗𝖆𝖙𝖎𝖔𝖓𝖘
It was that time of year again where screams filled the air, creepy decorations were displayed, and children got hyper for the sweets that were to come. There were still a few days before that special day, but that only meant excitement for it could fester and grow. Especially for a certain candy-loving man who had a passion for holidays and going all out on them. In fact, his boyfriend had been decorating the mansion for a couple weeks now. Even his office has been transformed to match the theme of the month.
Bats and spiders hung from the ceiling with cobwebs in the corners. Lights in the shape of pumpkins were stringed along where the walls and ceiling met. Speaking of pumpkins, a tiny one- the one everyone seemed to adore- sat upon his desk. A "scary" face drawn on it by the one and only Warfstache. It was unprofessional, in his opinion, for an office to appear so… childish. But when it came to harmless activities such as these, the guy could hardly tell the man-child 'no'. Especially when the allowance of decorating earned him such a beautiful smile.
The other egos helped out when they could, but Wil didn't mind making the place "spook-tastic" by himself. Dark of course offered assistance as well when he had the time, but was usually told to return to work or relax. The latter was mostly encouraged, though, since the eccentric didn't want the entity to overwork himself. Though, someone had to take care of the business around here, and Google and the Host were busy with their own assignments. So that was what he was doing at the moment, looking over papers and signing them. It-
His head snapped up at an abrupt scream. Those were typical to hear during this month, for the egos took fun in scaring each other. However, this yell was all too familiar and was followed by a loud thud. It wasn't from inside the building, though. No, it was right outside of it, near his office. Without much hesitation, Dark abandoned the bills to investigate, heading for the balcony.
As the male stood out on the ledge, searching for the source of the shout, he wondered what his lover did now. It could be absolutely anything, especially if it warranted a scream. Though, the real question was- where the hell was he? The guy couldn't find the lovable fool anywhere on the ground below. Perhaps he thought wrong about where the yell cam-
"Oh! Hi Darky!" A rather chipper voice suddenly came from above, cutting through his thoughts.
He blinked, shifting his attention upward. "Wil-" His brows shot up, registering the sight with wide eyes. The obsidian orbs darted around, assessing the situation before narrowing. "How the hell did you manage this?!" He gritted out through clenched teeth, trying to figure out how to undo this without any injuries. One mishap and Wilford could end up concussed or breaking something. After all, he was hanging upside down, a perfect position to break one's neck if they plummeted.
"There's no need to take that tone with me, mister." The colorful man huffed, as if he had any ground to stand on. "But if you must know, I was simply setting up the lights when my ankle got tangled up in them. I attempted to shake them off, but one second I was on the roof, and the next I'm suddenly hanging like a bat!" The mustached fella explained, smiling from coming up with that last bit. "Ooo! Mayhaps I should dress myself as one and hang here for Halloween! That would surely asto-"
"Absolutely not! Do you have any idea how dangerous this is?!" He snapped, and while he appeared quite exasperated, Dark was deeply worried. Any good partner wouldn't desire true harm on their lover. Not even the "cold-hearted" ego.
"Oh, danger smanger!" Wil said, making a dismissive motion with his hand. It resulted in him swinging a bit, something that did not ease Dark's nerves at all. "Let me be a part of the decorations!"
A low growl escaped. This idiot would give him a heart attack if the organ still functioned. "Will you quit moving around?!" He snapped, his form glitching before appearing on top of the flat rooftop. Right where a cord of lights spilled over the side, attached to the interviewer's ankle. "It might loosen the cord and you'll fall, ending up hurt. Plus, it will hinder the process of getting you out of this mess."
"Oh poppycock!" Yet, despite wanting to be stubborn and prove he was safe, that he was not hindering anything, he stilled. Simply tilting his head in order to see his boyfriend peering over the edge, testing to see if he was in arm reach.
"Alright," the grey being began, satisfied with at least something. "I'm going to pull you up by your feet, and if you dare kick or anything and cause either of us to fall, I will not hesitate to make you sleep in your own bedroom tonight. Understood?"
Exclamations of indignation were sputtered out, protesting he wasn't that careless while waving his arms around. "Wilford." He warned, tight-lipped as the other swayed again. Once they quieted to mumbling and crossed their arms, a brow raised at the behavior yet accepted it anyway. "Better. I'm going to pull you up now."
After a few tense minutes and a close call, Dark stumbled back, falling onto his back with a grunt. His lover falling on top of him didn't help as it knocked the air out of him. Not that he had much to lose anyway… As they both laid there, catching their breaths, the pink-haired fella squeezed him tightly. "My knight in shining armor! You shall be rewarded handsomely tonight if you don't kick me out."
Alright. That sort of earned a soft huff of amusement. Though, there were still going to be repercussions. Ones that needed to get through his lover's reckless head. "You are no longer permitted to decorate alone. So as long as you can follow that rule, we can continue sharing a room. Understood?"
That got him a whine of protest. "But Daarrrk- I am not some child that needs supervising!"
Oh, how he wanted to argue that, but the guy decided it’d be a waste of time. "Perhaps not, but you are my partner and I’d rather not have you risk yourself like that without someone around to prevent it, or at least aid you afterwards.” He paused, observing while letting that sink in. It was clear by how Wil’s face became less pouty that he was finally realizing why Dark’s feathers were ruffled. “Now do you understand?"
With a nod, Wil pressed a sweet and reassuring kiss to their cheek. “Yeppers! I do indeed, my beautiful raven.” Then, without further ado, nuzzled his neck. "My apologies for the scare I might've caused."
Between that and the affection, it was enough to draw out a little smile, more at ease now. Enough so to plant his lips on their head for a few seconds, simply expressing his relief and love. With a satisfied hum, Dark pulled away, still holding onto him. "It's alright, Wil. You didn't mean to frighten me this time. However-" A look of seriousness popped up, but soon faded away to a smirk as he finished speaking. "If you try jumpscaring or pranking me on Halloween after this incident, I might not be so forgiving~"
"I'll keep that in mind, Darkling~" The eccentric giggled out, wearing a lopsided grin as his eyes sparkled.
"Good." Another pause. This time glancing over the other male's body before meeting his gaze again. "Now, how about we get you untangled and finish setting up the lights, my vexatious bat?"
"I think you meant 'My precious bat', love~"

With a quiet chuckle and shake of the head, Wil was freed from the cord before they finished up with the lights, managing to do so without any more accidents. And when night came, the manor was indeed more terrifying thanks to the ominous glow and outdoor horrors, truly looking like a haunted house where strange beings lived.
