y’all, i feel like i need to remind y’all that there’s a huge difference between ignoring what’s going on, and taking a mental break because you’re exhausted with trying to keep up with the situation in the country right now. this shit is no joke and is weighing incredibly heavy on people such as myself and if you need to take a break from this and just log out, please do. please take care of yourself and don’t feel bad that you’re not keeping up with things at every second of the day.

also if you try to guilt someone into making a statement like “hmm you’ve been awfully silent on this” fuck right off. someone could be 100% in support of something but not post about it because it’s their blog and they get to post about what they want. people come to the internet for escapism, and posting about current events could impact their mental health harshly.

don’t confuse silence for complacency. a person can totally be in support, having signed all the petitions and donating to a bunch of charities, but not talk about it at all and it’s not your business about whether or not they did.
