When he’d come home, the first thing Kaveh did was give you a kiss hello.
“You’re back earlier than expected,” you remarked. “Did the client cancel?”
“No. Well, sort of. When they were reminded it was my birthday from the paperwork, they rescheduled. So I wanted to come home and eat my lunch with you.”
“I just ate,” you murmured regretfully.
“That’s okay! I’ll eat and we can just chill out.”
While he was unpacking his lunch onto the table, you looked at yourself in the mirror. You had intended to dress up a little bit later, to surprise him when he came home.
Now you would have to just do the dance you’d planned in your regular day clothes. Though, he did always say how much he liked those…
“Actually, before I eat, I think I’ll brew some coffee. Do you want any, Rueda?”
“No, thank you!” you replied. “Don’t you want your mint tea?”
“I’m saving that for later, when it’s even hotter out. It’s so much more refreshing than anything else I’ve had.”
You cooed softly. “Well, I’m glad.”
“I’m sure it’s the love that does it,” he shouted over the sound of the coffee grinder. “Because I can taste the love!”
You giggled.
He sat down a few minutes later with his coffee, and set into his lunch.
“Don’t you want to sit down?” he asked you after his first bite.
“I have a surprise for you,” you said by way of explanation.
You stood in front of him, hands on your hips and feet in ready position. “I got this together for your birthday.”
You counted off, and began your dance. It was inspired by the mating dance of the Bird-Of-Paradise, with grand sweeps of your arms and sways of your hips. You pointed your toes, with little hops as you alternated your feet, to mimic the birds’ dance.
Then, you took on a slower and more rolling form, like the waving of their long tail feathers in the wind.
When you were done, you looked at Kaveh, lifting your eyebrows to ask what he thought.
“That was great! The little hops were so cute, and you looked so lovely doing that second part. Where’d you learn it?”
“I’ve been doing some birdwatching, and reading stuff at the House of Daena.”
“And it turned out so well so quickly? Extraordinary! But you are a skilled dancer, of course you could do that.”
You blushed a little, looking down. “Well, I had an outfit I was going to wear for it, too, if you’d gotten home later. I didn’t have a chance to change.”
“Do you want to go change? I can play music for you this time!” He reached over and picked up the instrument resting against the couch.
“Later,” you assured him. “I’ll do it again later.”
“Well, thank you for sharing this rehearsal with me, then.”
You were slightly thirsty from your dance, so you sat down next to him, and debated sipping his coffee. Instead, he pushed the mint tea toward you. “Here. You’ll prefer this.”
You uncapped it and took a sip. Yup, nice and refreshing.
Kaveh leaned over, resting his head on yours and getting smacked with your ear. You wrapped your tail around his hips.
“Well, I’ve had several good birthday surprises now,” he said with a contented sigh. “On top of a very good lunch packed with care, like you do every day. I feel good about this year.” He turned his head to kiss the top of yours. “And I have you to thank for it.”

you and your f/o are soulmates. no matter if you know it or not, you two are dragged together in every timeline, every universe. whether its love at first sight, growing up as childhood friends, learning to love at the same time as you're learning to fight.
even if right now you're in seperate universes, your love always finds a way. your f/o can feel how much you love them even when you're so far apart, and they hope you can feel their love too.

when a genshin f/o's birthday rolls around, ship art generally seems to be a minimum in their bday hashtag on twitter. fans simply appreciating the character themself... unless that character is kaveh. which really cements the belief that people only care about him and/or alhaitham for the sake of a ship. one that hasn't even been written well in canon for years. it sucks so bad. for both of them tbh. kaveh's got a lot of nuance that can be fun to explore, meanwhile i see people mischaracterize the hell out of alhaitham to make him this Stoic Daddy Dom stereotype. they both deserve better - better treatment from those who claim to be their fans, and better romantic partners lmao. like rueda and judah!

Context: We've been out of a car for over a month. We got it fixed faster than expected because a friend spotted us for the alternator temporarily, and Owen literally just. Did the work himself again. So she's back, but we have literally zero dollars for insurance because of us having to drain our funds with uber and ordering groceries and how much rent was (I will not get into the context of that because i'll get bitter again).
Anyway, we literally cannot afford to not have a car anymore because we're tapped and if we need to get somewhere we have no uber money and apparently our friends don't like us enough to help :')
The amount will probably be (safely) around $90, but I might keep this up for a little bit past that because we need gas for said car and electricity (it's a prepaid plan and it's also summer in Texas, the math is horrific).
Please help a disabled trans person get their life back on track, I'm so fucking tired.
