Originally I was only supposed to be making the candid works for the football team shots, but I ended up also taking in another background hatchetfield character, which is Will Branner's hoco character, Rudolph

I also realized how vastly different each artstyle is with each artwork I've drawn here because they were all drawn in different weeks and different mediums, definitely me vs the clock situations just to get these submitted on time

It's already been a while since the project has been posted but I'm still really thankful for the opportunity to be included! :DDD big thank you to Birdie!

[Juniper falls onto her bed with a sigh. Finally, after a lot of awkward conversation, she had managed to convince her parents to let Max and her go to her room for the night. And she tilts her head so she looks at Max with a soft expression, her husband.]

How are you feeling?

[Max sits on the bed by her with a sigh. He lays back.]

[Juni moves to lay facing him, fiddling with her new wedding ring.]

That’s fair. Today was, a lot.

What do we do? Like I love you Juni, I really do and I always planned to get married to you but damn.

Neither of us are out of school and suddenly we’re married with a house?

It’s terrifying, I don’t even know what I want to do after high school.

Like, yeah, I always knew I’d never really get much of a choice, Father would pick my college and what I’d major in. And then after that I would have been married off to what guy they thought was “suitable” to ship me off to so they wouldn’t have to deal with me.

But I like to imagine I would have gotten some say, but here we are. Married.

[She purses her lips. She loves Max, god she really does, and she’s so happy it’s him she’s married to but there’s too much in her head right now such as worrying she won’t even be enough for him, or how the next few days are going to go, if she’s even a good enough wife. It’s overwhelming, and she feels tears trying to build up but she won’t let them. Not now. She can’t break now.]

[Max pulls her closer and hugs her to his chest, trying to offer comfort. There’s a lot on his mind, a lot of things to still do and worry about.]

I’ll be honest with the fact that I don’t know what to do here. We just have to survive till your parents leave then… live our lives? Try and ignore it maybe? Or focus on the good.

We’re here, right now and in the future we’ll be safe.

[Juniper hides her face against his chest, clinging to the comfort. Tears well up and silently start falling before she can stop them, soaking into Max’s shirt as her shoulders shake slightly. She’s meant to be strong, she can’t break.]

I-I’m sorry you got dragged into this mess

[Max hugs her tighter, burying himself against her. He wants to hold her, protect her from all that’s been happening or has happened. He can’t though.]

[Juni sniffles softly, keeping her face hidden against his chest as the tears keep falling. She can’t get them to stop.]

I have been told since I was maybe six that my parents would be picking my husband for me. I knew that any details of a wedding would have been picked in the interest of who I was being given to. From the venue, to the dress, to how my make up look. I accepted I wouldn’t know who I was marrying until I was walking down the aisle.

I’ve expected this because it’s all I’ve known, it’s something I knew I had little to know chance escaping.
