Usually the number of blue stars gives away age ~ blue stars are burning through their fuel at a rapid velocity whereas red ones can be thought of as the cosmic couch potatoes (who tend to live for much longer).

This galaxy is filled with young blue stars. It’s also got red stars that are much older than how long a blue star can last:

This galaxy has been constantly giving birth to new stars throughout its life. The nebulous blue area near the top right of the galaxy is where it churning together a whole new batch of stellar infants.
