RELATIONSHIP/FAMILY: she has two parents who are very much alive, but Hermione had to wipe her memories from them so they have no idea she exists. She considers the Weasley’s and Harry her family now.

DO THEY ENJOY BAR HARBOR?: It’s alright, she doesn’t hate it but she does miss home and all her friends who aren’t in Bar Harbor. 

A BRIEF BIO: Hermione is extremely intelligent—the classic overachiever, with top marks in all her classes. She is known as the brightest witch of her age. She’s a loyal and true friend and would do anything to keep Harry safe. Which is exactly why she was so quick to give up schooling to help Harry find and destroy the horcruxes. The months leading up to the war were tough for Hermione, especially with dealing with the feelings she thought she had for Ron. During the Battle of Hogwarts she got swept up in all of it, kissing him. After the battle of Hogwarts, Hermione went back to Hogwarts to attain her N.E.W.T.S.  It was during her final year at Hogwarts without Harry and Ron that she realized her feelings for Ron really were just friendly feelings and the two cut off all romantic ties before it got awkward. She had just accepted a job offer with the Ministry of Magic when she was pulled from her world and into Bar Harbor.

Ghosts always seemed to follow Hermione around. She figured she should be used to it, having lived with them at Hogwarts but these ghosts they were always different. This particular night she dreamed of her parents and woke with a start, cursing that she couldn’t just rent out books that would actually help her restore her parents memory. It was early or late depending on how you looked at it and there was no way Hermione was going back to bed, not with the guilt of her parents on her mind. Getting dressed, she headed to the café near her apartment, knowing a day of working with Draco was going to require a lot of caffeine. She stopped in her tracks when she saw Sirius. She could still feel Harry’s grief from loosing him. She sighed, another ghost following her. But then she remembered she wasn’t dreaming so she clutched her cup tightly in her hand and took a shaky breath as she headed over to him. “Sirius?” She had no idea how he was here but maybe this town could restore hope for all of them. @darkestxdreams​

“I was thirteen last time, Granger. Of course I’m going to run off crying when someone punches me in the face for no good reason.” He scoffed but deep down he knew she had a good reason for punching him. She’d have a good reason to punch him fifty more times for how he’d treated her over the years. “I’m twenty now and it’ll take more than a threat of a punch to scare me. Besides, I can have you arrested for that in this place.” He let the silence take over, pondering his thoughts as he placed books in their rightful place on the shelves. It was funny that he’d get stuck here with her of all people — the one person he’d wronged the most. It wasn’t something he was likely to admit out loud just yet but knowing all the awful things he’d said to her made him feel ashamed. That wasn’t who he was. That was who he’d had to be to pretend to be. The mere thought of the hurt he caused not only Hermione but countless others made him sick. It kept him up at night trying to think of ways to make amends. “You know, for the ‘brightest witch of our age’, he said, making sure to use air quotes around the words he’d heard so many times at Hogwarts. “You really are pretty clueless. Remember who was right at the top of classes with you? Remember who almost beat you in potions? Oh, yeah, that was me. I like books, Granger but of course you’re so narrow minded that an ex Death Eater couldn’t possibly have an interest in literature.” He was mad. This girl didn’t know a single thing about him yet here she was acting like she knew his likes and dislikes.

Hermione rolled her eyes, knowing well enough if she did decide to punch him today he probably wouldn’t cry but he’d at the very least be upset about it. “Oh, yeah? You know how to use a muggle phone to call the police?” She smirked a brow raised. “I’m shaking in my boots, Malfoy.” Truth was, even if she had wanted to stop the bickering between the two of them it was kind of fun to keep on going. She watched him from her spot up front as he put the books away and couldn’t help but laugh to herself about the irony of the whole situation. Why couldn’t she have had a job with Harry or Ginny? She knew they were stuck in this town too. It just had to be Draco, didn’t it? Somehow she was always being thrown into things with him like her fate hadn’t already been cruel enough - she just had to constantly be thrown into situations with a guy who couldn’t stand her. She rolled her eyes again as he spoke. At least he hadn’t called her Golden Girl she hated that one far more than the Brightest Witch statement. “It had nothing to do with you being an ex Death Eater, Malfoy.” She shrugged, slamming the pen down harder on the counter than she meant to. “I never saw you reading.  How was I to know you actually liked books?” She knew he was smart, she’d always hated how smart he was.

“Amazing, glad to see that witches are getting appropriate knowledge about their magic,” he smiled, having to teach himself everything he knew. If he had been around now he probably would have gone to one of these schools. “Well that makes me feel special. Is there a specific coven that’s popular here?” he questioned. “Oh, Henrik, nice to meet you”

“Oh yeah, wizarding school is all the rage.” Hermione joked. She had a lot of questions for the man in front of her but decided it best to not overwhelm the poor guy. “A coven? Goodness no.” She raised a brow, she hadn’t heard of covens in a long while. Maybe this Henrik wasn’t from her time. Then again, she wasn’t exactly from this time either. “Nice to meet you as well. I’m Hermione Granger.” After all this time and everything the witch had been through the last few years - it was a bit refreshing being around someone who didn’t know her.

“No, I didn’t even know that was a thing,” he replied with a small laugh, unaware there were other witches out there. “I thought I was the only one who could use magic and I’ve been here for years”

“It is, or at least where I come from it is.” She frowned a bit. Hermione had never really been familiar with different universes, sure it was possible clearly, but it wasn’t something she’d ever imagined to be real. “I can assure you there’s tons of us floating around town that can use magic. I’m Hermione by the way.”

“Oh, I’m so scared,” he said sarcastically, rolling his eyes. That’s all he seemed to do when he was in her presence. Though, he had to admit, she wasn’t as annoying as she used to be. Maybe now that she didn’t have the Weasel and Scarhead around as much she was becoming a tiny bit bearable. Only a tiny bit and he’d never admit that to her or anyone. “I mean, we could but… where’s the fun in that?” He grabbed the books she’d finished with, moving from behind the counter and making his way to the shelves to stack them. “I have an even better solution to the problem. Go find another job. The reason we probably don’t have any customers right now is because they know the second they step foot in the door they’re going to have to listen to you drone on and on like the annoying know-it-all you are. Pretty sure we’ll have a lawsuit on our hands soon enough because you’ve bored someone to death.”

“Oh please, we all saw you run away crying last time. I know you’re scared of me.” Truth was, Hermione had felt awful about punching Draco that day, but he’d taken it too far with Harry and her loyalty would always be with him and hopefully Ron until her dying day. Not that she’d spoken to Ron since they agreed to just be friends, but she knew he’d come around eventually. It typically took Ron longer to process things than the average person. “The fun in that would be us both not killing each other at some point.” She mumbled as she moved to another stack of books, glancing up at him as he walked away. She knew there was more to him than just his annoyance for her, a front he was putting up to protect himself. Something she desperately wanted to break down. All those years at Hogwarts she’d known he wasn’t a bad guy, he was just a sad kid trying to please his parents and had gotten caught up in it all. She hoped being here away from all that he’d let his guard down, but apparently now. Rolling her eyes, she picked back up where she’d left off with him, not allowing him a chance to see that maybe a small part of her cared for him. “Oh yes, I’m sure that’s it. I’m just such a bore they couldn’t possibly stand me.” Closing the cover of a book she moved to the next one. “Why don’t you find somewhere else to work? You don’t even like books.”

Draco had sworn to himself that he’d try to be better in this new place, this new world but that was hard when he had to work with Hermione of all people. Was this some punishment for his past? Is that why he was stuck here with her? Surely that had to be it. That was what Draco believed anyway. “You’re more insufferable than ever today,” he huffed, folding his arms as he watched her from behind the counter. Really, she wasn’t doing anything. He knew that but he had to start some kind of argument to give himself something to do. “Can I request that from now on we work on different days? Just looking at you gives me a headache.” @witchygranger​

It would be just her luck that Hermione would be trapped in this town with Draco Malfoy of all people and to really top it off she was working in the same place as him. She really needed to find Harry, and fast. She’d done nothing to deserve such a cruel fate and yet here she was, another day at work with him. She snorted, rolling her eyes as he spoke. Could they not get through one damn day without him telling her about how awful she was. “I’ll punch you again if you don’t shut up, Malfoy.” She huffed, standing up from the the stack of books she’s been taking inventory on. “Can’t we just make the best of this horrible situation and leave each other alone?”

He furrowed his brow at her question, “study?” he asked, confused. “I went to the local college here.” he said, thinking that was what the other meant. “If you don’t mind me asking, why?”

Hermione frowned, surely there’d been other schools like Hogwarts. She’d read about them. “You didn’t go to a school for witchcraft?” She peaked out through her mess of curls. “I saw you do that spell. I just assumed you went to a school to master it.”

He sighed as he tried to get the lid open, and as much as he tried it was stuck. “Oh come on,” he groaned, pushing it away for a moment. “Alright, be like that,” he said before taking the cap and muttering a spell and finally opening the lid. “Thank the gods above,” he groaned before feeling a pair of eyes on him. “Oh, hello” he smiled awkwardly

Hermione couldn’t help but notice the man across from her struggling with the lid. She was just about to offer some help when he did what appeared to be magic to loosen it up. Her eyes lighting up as she watched. She hadn’t been expecting to run into any other wizards here in this town. “Hello.” She grinned. “Where did you study?”

“is   it   WEIRD   for   me   to   say   that   i   sort   of   miss   getting   howlers   from   my   mum?”   ginny   mused,   holding   an   envelope   in   hand,   “now   the   only   mail   i   get   is   boring   old   BILLS.”

“I don’t think it’s weird at all. I miss you guys getting howlers too.” Hermione chuckled, looking down at the envelope in her friends hand. “I know what you mean, everything’s just so boring.” She sighed. “I used to miss muggle things when we’d be in school but now? I miss everything.”
