âI could be, but I am Freya Mikaelson. That is the truth.â Freya said plainly, not offended by his frank demeanor and distrust of her. He was wary, and he was right to be. This was a dangerous world where kin could betray kin. But Freya aimed to prove herself a loyal, and loving, sibling. âI did nothing. That is not the way my magic works. I can rarely affect other people unless through complicated spells - and they require a bit more groundwork than a simple touch.â
She drew in a deep breath and nodded. âMother kept the truth from all of you, but from Finn especially. It was she who was responsible for my abduction. She gave me away to her sister, who was - is - a red priestess. Our aunt trained me in those magics.â Freya paused, considering her little brother, gaze soft and kind. âI have no need of your money or power. All I want, is family.â She stepped forward, reaching for his hand again, taking it in both of hers. âThat is why I escaped the red temple and crossed the sea. To find all of you. And now, I can teach you to use your gift - if you so desire.â
Kol remained silent again, processing what she was saying. âWhy would our lady mother give you away?â he asked, somewhat reluctantly accepting her story. He was still wary, but when she grabbed his hand, he realized they were connected. âYou could teach me the ways of the red priests? Or do I have my own magic? I serve no god, Freya. I serve myself.â He didnât want to be tied to a religion he had no love for. He never believed in any gods, not the Lord of Light, not the old gods or the new. âBut if you can teach me, then I would like to learn.â He had never stood out from his siblings. Niklaus and Elijah always ran together, sometimes with their sister Rebekah. But that left Kol on his own. He could have real power though, something to make him special and set him apart from them. âHow did you find out you had more siblings?â
