"Don’t be a party pooper," Anna chuckled, pushing the large glass door open so the two could enter the store. She grabbed Samuel’s hand without even thinking, intertwining her fingers with his and dragged him to the male section of the store, scanning for any piece of clothing that would look good on him. It took her a while to realise what she had done and she blushed, giving her a mental facepalm before letting go of his hand.
She didn’t know why it was always like that. She would be fine, hanging out with the boy. But then, things like that would happen… She would hold his hand for a really long time, or gaze into his eyes and get lost in them… Every so often, she would get these weird feelings in her stomach— Butterflies, if you will— Things she never felt before… for anyone. She couldn’t help but wonder what was going on with her.
"Uhm," she picked up a light blue polo shirt, trying to distract herself from her own thoughts. "What about this one? Do you like it?"
Samuel rolled his eyes again, as he usually did around Anna whenever they hung out. Seeing them hold hands he hadn't really thought about it much either, it was more of a traditional thing anyways. Anna and him were unusually touchy, more touchy than he was with anyone, even significant others. Hugging and hand holding were somewhat normal it seemed, and Samuel usually allowed himself to be touched.
It wasn't until she let go did he notice, saw the red in her cheeks, and laughed softly to himself deciding not to comment aloud. Looking around them Sam already could feel the piercing glares of former classmates and teachers who knew him from his high school years. No one in town seemed to trust him alone with the company of a female anymore, not after what had happened. It felt like he was under a magnifying glass, and he hated it.
Shrugging them off though, Anna's voice worked in a way that it pulled him out of the fog and Samuel obliged to her call for him. Staring at the blue polo he picked it up and held it close to his chest. "Looks good." He nodded with a smile. "I'll try it on later though, assuming you're probably going to pick at least twenty outfits for me. What about you though? What do would good on you?"
Aurora giggled as he grabbed her keys, a little overly excited for their movie night. They were Aurora’s favorite thing, she just loved watching movies and making commentary with Zachary as they ate their favorite snacks. It was something so simple that held so much meaning to her. Something she didn’t even want to end.
She thanks him as he opened the door for her, climbing into his car as she leaned her head back and smiled at the mention of her favorite movie, “Really?” She asked, perking up with excitement as she looked over at him, “Oh please, can we? You know The Notebook is my absolute favorite movie ever.” She asked, a puppy-dog pout on her lips as her eyelashes fluttered.
A small laugh escaped her lips as she leaned back and watched him while he began driving, “Plus it’s a good movie, I mean, it’s it just so romantic and cute? God, I wish I could live in that movie.” She admitted.
A good part of him was always surprised by how much Aurora was willing to spend nights with him watching movies. She, in all honestly, did not seem like a stay at home watching movies and making commentary type of girl to him. It was stereotypical, he knew, but Zachary considered himself lucky once she agreed to the first time, the second time, and every time after that. And by then things had become somehow comfortable. He would complain about the technical stuff, she would complain about everything else. He knew what snacks she liked and Aurora knew what pizza toppings he liked. Somehow it just worked.
He did a joke bow as she thanked him for opening the door, and closed it behind Aurora once she was in and went to the driver's seat. "I was hoping we wouldn't have to." He admitted looking over to Aurora with a small but amused smile. Granted, the only reason why Zachary even tolerated the movie was because of Aurora. It was her little reactions, the fits of joy or moments where he could point and she'd be in tears that made him love that movie.
"But, you know since you'll be paying for the pizza, why not." He winked at her and started to drive to the video store. "Yeah? Well you could, with whoever is your future boyfriend. You just have to convince them to ask you out hanging from a ferris wheel." Zachary gave the other a nudge. "Speaking of which, how's your love life anyways? If you don't mind me asking. Anyone I have to beat up yet or?"
"No," she muttered, "You’re not. My best friend—" she hesitated, looking down and taking a step back, "The guy I thought was my best friend would have never killed a man. You’re not a good guy, Samuel. You’re a liar,” Anna raised her voice, looking straight at him as she said the last words. She felt like someone had punched a hole through her heart— So, that is what it felt like to have a broken heart…
Being angry at a time like this was something Samuel knew he couldn't be. With his blood rising and the heat practically radiating off of him, he forced himself to swallow down the frustration he was feeling. If he could explain himself well enough, Anna would have to understand. Right?
"I never lied, we all keep secrets. This was just one that spilled its own beans." He shrugged sheepishly as he took a step forward to match her step back. "Did you see what happened fully? That guy was about to attack me. And for all we know, he might have tried to attack you too." Granted only a part of that was true, the man had his rights to self defense but in Samuel's own mind he was just in his actions.
"Listen, I didn't mean for you to see that honestly. You're probably the one person who I hope to never disappoint." Samuel took another small step closer. "I disappointed everyone in my life including myself, but it was your thoughts about me I considered most. Please don't make a judgement on this one little thing."
-Raises brow.- That so?
Cassie. Sounds like a type of fish. But you’re right. It does.
Does your ego feel inflated? And it actually means 'unheeded prophetess', but I guess it can sound like a fish. Liam sounds like the name of someone pretentious. That's kind of accurate.
I'm glad you agree with me. I bought something a few days ago and had to return it. I want a refund.
"You’re going to hand that over," Aiden said calmly, cocking the gun in her hand and raising it up so that it was pointing at the person across the room. "I always get what I’m looking for, and unfortunately, the thing that I’m looking for is in your hand." She gave a saccharine smile. "I hope you realize that I’m not playing a game with you."
Samuel raised an eyebrow, before doing the same with one of his arms, the other still holding the item in his hand. "I'm assuming you've heard the same myth too?" He asked her keeping his arm extended upwards. Obviously a professional, he knew every person, professional or not, had their defaults. "Rather than just take it from me, why don't you hear what I'm gonna do with it first. Deal?"
-Rolls eyes.-
Fantastic. As per usual. Who are you, by the way?
Just a girl who likes to go on the internet too much. Call me Cassie. I've heard a lot about you-- Also your daddy's tech company sucks ass.
“Work on the what?” Half-asleep and very hungry, she had no idea what he was talking about. She sat down on the arm of the chair across from him, mostly out of boredom as opposed to anything else. If she was awake then she might as well entertain herself somehow.
Zachary raised an eyebrow to the other, not looking down from his laptop as he gestured to the mountain of half-eaten food and alcohol on the table next to him. "My blog, remember? The one I had to shut down for awhile." He continued to type away, coding certain things in attempts to guarantee no one would figure out it was him resurrecting the thing. "I have the best story to tell, no one should have expected I would stay quiet forever. But what are you doing awake anyways? Hungry for yogurt or just hungry?"

Well that’s hardly nice at all
Just like your coming back. How is the 'great Liam Booker' anyways?
"I only sell if you have cash up front, no quarter pay, no half-way pay, not even 90% pay - full pay." He had grown weary of repeating the rules but managed to sling around a somewhat patient demeanor.
Essie folded her arms, a roll to her eyes as she pushed the bills closer to the stranger. "The guy I took this from only kept this much in his pocket. Apparently everyone knows how expensive this stuff is here." She ran a hand through her hair. "I'm just trying to forget some stuff, can I just have enough for how much I have? C'mon."
”I have no idea what the hell is going on here, but I’m going to have to kindly ask you to shut up so I can enjoy my yogurt. ”
Zachary took a sip of his drink, not having had realized he'd been mumbling to himself as he worked. "Doing construction on The Achilles Heel, we're back on the grid." He was excited to say the least, bringing back his blog was the most thrilling thing he'd done in awhile. "Since you're up too, want to help?"
Greetings friends. I still exist.
This is awful news.
"If you wanted to talk to me you didn’t need to spill coffee all over me," Daisy scoffed. "What bad RomCom did you spill out of?"
"That was all on accident actually, or a coincidence. However you wanna look at things." Samuel replied giving the girl a small smile along with an offer of napkins. "I feel awful though, I think I have a jacket in my car if you want it."
the rest of my replies are in my drafts, and will be replied to when i get home from school.
