I think Mum will be fine. I already know that Dad is less fine… it’ll be hard but I think I can convince him. I’m sure something will come around. Maybe we can hang out a bit. I know I’m not necessarily fun but I can certainly try.

I believe in you. [She smiled at Rose's offer.] Sounds good. [Lily paused for a moment before adding on.] But maybe after Alex meets your parents. You'll either need some cheering up, or we can celebrate a relieved success. Hopefully it's the latter.

[walks up behind someone, quirking a brow when he realizes the direction they’re headed in] I’m pretty sure students are supposed to stay out of that corridor. Get a move on it, kiddo.

[Lily pauses in her tracks and turns around putting on an innocent expression.] What? I always go through here. I had no idea. [pouts, looking up at him with pleading eyes.] Can't you make a small exception?

[Shakes her head, chuckling slightly] I have certainly tried to prep him. But Alex is convinced they’re going to hate him regardless, so he refuses to really try. [Nods understanding] I know that I love studying, but it definitely does get boring after a while. I hope you find something exciting soon, Lil.

Well I doubt Aunt Hermione will. She's at least fair her in judgment. Your dad though... [She trailed off, mock wincing at the whole prospect. Lily was just glad Ron was Rose's father and not hers. Though she supposed she got stuck with James and Albus instead.] Good luck with that. 

Thanks, though I doubt anything interesting will come 'round.

Actually, it does. How many times have my potions exploded in my face? Zero. And how many times have they turned out perfectly? Oh, that’s right, always. [pretends to look around, astounded] Oh, Merlin, really? Where is she? 

Hit a sore spot there, Potter?

Nothing's perfect, and you especially aren't. [She rolls her eyes at the girl's feigned innocence.] Why so curious about my troubles, Rupert? Am I just starting to grow on you? [deadpan] I'm touched. 

I'm only sore when you grace me with your abhorrent presence.

[rosiethered]

[Smiles at her cousin, shaking her head] Nothing really new. Well, the boyfriend thing is still a little new and mum and dad are coming to meet him next hogsmeade weekend. Otherwise, nothing’s really new. Is anything new with you?

[wittylily]

[Her eyes widen at the mention of her aunt and uncle meeting Rose's boyfriend.] I hope you've prepped him for Uncle Ron. [She gave her cousin a knowing look and sighed at her query.] Not a thing. I'm dying for some excitement. Studying doesn't really do it for me. 

[rosiethered]

[grins back at her cousin] And that’s the only reason I offer it to you. I know you won’t take advantage of it. You’re the only Potter-Weasley I know won’t.

Just more evidence as to why I'm the best. [She said jokingly, returning Rose's smile.]

[Lily shut her books and set down her quill, eyes intent on her cousin. She'd much rather listen to Rose than write her damn potions essay.] So what's new in Rose's world?

It’s really not a big deal, I promise. The two of them have wreaked plenty of havoc around this castle. It’s practically your duty to do the same. They’re ruining their own legacy by holding you back. 

Thank you. I think so too, but I won’t ever become an auror if I don’t make it through N.E.W.T.s.

Oh, don't think I haven't. [she smiled mischievously and shrugged] It's the problem that comes with being "little Lily". No one lets you do anything exciting, and your older brothers deem it their duty to make sure no boy ever looks at you. 

Yeah, being killed by your N.E.W.T.s might be a bit of an obstacle in becoming an auror, and I doubt it'll look very good on a resume.

[looks at the paper the redhead is currently writing on before sliding onto the chair across from her] Not that bloody potions essay, that’s for sure.

Honestly! Who assigns an essay with final exams coming up so soon? It's bloody ridiculous; that's what it is. 

[seraphine-rupert]

Please. I’m first of my class in Potions, you wouldn’t be able to beat me even if you did your best effort. [laughs mockingly, shrugging] You can say that, but who’s the one having trouble right now? At least I can balance both my life and my school work, getting overloaded with essays is never nice. You just gotta be smart enough. 

[wittylily]

Being top of the class holds no testimony to who is best at what. 'Please'. I wouldn't even need to tire myself with my best effort. [rolls her eyes, her expression hardening when Seraphine implies that she wasn't smart enough.] The only trouble I have right now is the self important witch that just can't seem to leave me alone. Can't really blame her though; she's not nearly smart enough to take a hint. 

[rosiethered]

[slides down onto a chair across the table, stacking her books in front of her] Probably finish her homework. [she teases] Is that the potions  essay? I’ve already finished. I could help you, if you want. As long as you don’t make me do all of it, anyway.

[Lily rolls her eyes at her cousin's joke, a good natured smile on her face. She shakes her head in response to her offer.] You know me, Rose. I'd rather suffer by myself than ask for help on an assignment. 

[julesaugustine]

Good point. [chuckles a bit] Next time I see either, I’ll tell them to lighten up on you. You deserve some fun, just as much as they do. 

Thank Merlin. I’d hate for them to think it was some unnamed killer. But, yeah, N.E.W.T.s suck. If it wasn’t for wanting to be an auror, I wouldn’t be taking nearly as many as I am.

[Her eyes brighten a bit at the prospect.] That's really nice of you. I'm glad to know someone is on my side. It's moreso James than Albus, really. Though they're both just as stubborn as I am. 

You're going to make a great auror. 

[seraphine-rupert]

[raises her head when she hears the words, looking over at Lily and rolling her eyes] Probably shutting the hell up and letting others concentrate.

[Her gaze shifts over to Sera, with a something just short of a glare.] That’s a shame; maybe if you were more intelligent, you’d be able to focus. [She smiles at the girl, mockingly.]

[seraphine-rupert]

Right. Maybe if you were more intelligent you’d be able to figure this…[looks at her book before a smirk twists her features] Potions essay. I’m not surprised you can’t keep up with the subject, it’s not for most people. Good thing I finished it days ago, isn’t it? [smiles back at her sardonically]

[wittylily]

[She follows Sera's gaze to her own books, before looking up at her despicable smirk.] I could fly circles around you in anything, potions included. [returns the sardonic smile] That's absolutely wonderful. You're so lucky to have so much free time. I wish I could say the same thing--but you know how it is. Though I guess you don't, really.

Albus and James have plenty of fun of their own, dear. Them prohibiting you from doing the same would be extremely hypocritical. 

N.E.W.T.s are killing me right now. Like, literally killing me. If you pass a dead Jules in the corridor one of these days, just know that N.E.W.T.s were the culprit.

Well, they're extremely hypocritical. [She said pointedly.] 

[She cringes at Jules' comment on N.E.W.T.s.] Yeah, not looking forward to that next year. But, I'll make sure they note that in the autopsy.

[slides into the seat across from her, dropping her own stack of books down on the table] There are plenty of ways to have fun, love, you just have to seek them out yourself. Although, finals have put a damper on most things.

[Looks up at the girl taking the seat in front of her.] I'm up for anything. As long as my brothers don't see me having too much fun, I'm golden.

[She sighs at the mention of finals.] They have; Though, I'm glad I wasn't required to take any N.E.W.T.s or O.W.L.s this year.

[Lily was seated at a library table, a few open books scattered across her table. Papers were sprawled across the desk, as the redhead was rapidly scribbling down words. She had wanted to get that stupid essay in potions over and done with. Stopping for a moment, she sighed down at the loopy black script. She didn't have the temper for potions essays right now. She mumbled dismally to herself.] What's a girl gotta do to have some fun around here?
