Saw someone point out that all of chapter 5 titles are all metaphors and thus the dark vine thing could be interpreted as hinting towards ralsei being a plant which ive seen some people saying hes a tree so who knows maybe he is hmmm

My (hot) take on ralsei is that him now also using they/them is not as definitive cannon as people (even wiki editors) think.

I just think such a major thing as one of the main characters now having another set of pronouns would be shown more than once in a menu you could easily miss.

Also no asgore doesn't count he didn't know ralsei's gender so he defaulted to gender neutral language.

Continuing on my first point this detail isnt consistent across the translations which toby helped write from my understanding and If this was some new important info it would be consistent, tho japans language is gendered differently so take a grain of salt with this.

The fact that it's listed on one wiki site but not the other to me is a clear sign that it isn't definitive at the moment.

If you want to refer to ralsei as they/them go ahead this is a (currently) subjective matter and this is just my opinion.

Possible minor spoilers for deltarune

After diving a little deeper into the trans ralsei theory while I still don't think it's cannon or the direction toby gonna take his character I do actually somewhat like it now even if I don't subscribe to it. People being toxic and insisting it's cannon just put a very sour taste in my mouth, back when I was getting into deltarune what finally got me to block reddit was seeing a bunch of the discourse pop on my feed sowing general dislike of the topic. (which caused me to get a couple spoilers but that's on me ignore the spoilers sign). Ive noticed thaat it's seems I was at first presented the more iffy to dumb evidence which also why it came off as calling him an egg, calling him being trans cannon imo definitely is egging him tho.

I also have a bone to pick with ralsei's pronouns now being he/they I just think something that important to his character would've been mentioned more than once in a menu, and isn't it referring to some vine not just him tho I need to still get to that part of the game so I'll withhold dying on this hill for now.
