Thank you for the information. It was pretty helpful as a good start! The websites and media you mentioned are very helpful for references too! (I also did look up the last thing, and some arts I saw did actually have some cool and useful parts I’m looking for so ty for that too)

The way you draw robots is very inspiring to me. I’m really bad at drawing them despite liking them a lot. Do you have any tips on how to draw them? Or any inspiration?

I'm so glad it inspires you!!! but i also understand how u feel, I'm sure i could personally do much better tbh, but as always U must keep it up, I believe in u anon!!

yap-fest below+ im not an art person expert, I'm still not the most confident especially in my anatomy and such, which is a thing u want to usually get better at in general, but i think it may help especially when it comes to making robots..maybe..?

as for tips, im not good at giving those..but urhm, everybody and their uncles say this for everything, but references 24/7, there are real world android+robots out there tbh!!(robotshop is a website that has them, I think?) + finding out what kind of robot you want to draw up and you want to try and just generally break down the body into segments, at least that's usually how I do it. I personally look at toys/dolls when i'm feeling up to it. I find them pretty helpful in a general sense, especially if you're going for a more human/android look, there are plenty of Gunpla type figures that are usually mechas, robots, androids already. Another thing I tend to look at, depending, is those old 90s transparent colored electronics! I forgot the name for the style, if there was one, but those are also pretty neat.

You also want to think of the silhouette and designs too, not every robot HAS to match human shapes. they can be a lil silly lookin as a treat!! for that stuff I usually have to just dig around, I'd say Atom the Beginning can have some interesting designs (Dian in picture below), There's also my fav website, theoldrobots filled with toy robots specifically, very cool tbh!! Funnily my fav types of robots are the less human looking kinds, but my own creations lack those lesshuman elements, oh well..

but If you're thinking more deeply, on how they'll be powered and function, more internal details, then I don't think I can help you much there, I'm not well versed in robotics/engineering unfortunately. Would love to be one day, but today is not that day!! You'd have to find someone who's more knowledgeable in those fields!! (best I can do is fix a AC, apparently) I'm sure youtube(or whatever video media website u use) has great tutorials for coding and robotics/engineering!!

As for Inspiration, specifically for Wren, it's pretty visually obvious if you know of their existence, but their Inspo was pulled from Drossel Von Flugel from the fireball series, specifically "Charming" I guess!!!. I made Wren before I got into Fireball when I was younger, but i'm positive I saw her design before then and, like, unintentionally used it when designing Wren up tbh lol!!

Picture above is my Drossel figure I got years ago, she's posed funny (sorry dross) because I wanted to show the joint/segments in this one!!

Fun Fact while im talking about SPECIFIC character inspo, Cap's inspo was actually HAL9000 from "2001: a Space Odyssey"

Other inspirations, like, in general media sense, for me are; Classic Megaman, Atom the beginning, Old sci-fi movies; "Metropolis" (both 1927 and 2001), 1921 "The mechanical Man", The Juggernaut episode from 1934 "The Vanishing Shadow", 1995 "Memories" (Magnetic Rose specifically, tho all movies are pretty great I'd def give them a watch) and cartoons even, "Transformers", and "Metabots"! I ADORE some of the metabot designs, sometimes, i'm pretty sure there are some QUESTIONABLE (racist) designs and depictions tho, Classic Megaman also sorta has this issue (Tomahawk man....) , I'll have to dig around and check, so pls be wary!!

I feel weird naming actual like, artists for inspos too, but one artist who i still check the portfolio of is Bouss, (im not too sure if they use ai in their works. I don't think so? but like I also don't know the person at all..kinda why i dislike sharing actual completely random stranger artists for references and inspo..)

⚠️⚠️On a more perverted evil note, but it MAYBE helps that i'm also kinda into Mechabare (perverted thing where robots internals are exposed, like urhm gore but robot version, could be bc of "injuries"glitching etc but also repairs etc..), i'm pretty picky about it, and unfortunately for me, most art of it is usually of more android-humany women robots, but some art pieces have some great internal designs and details! So IF YOU'RE AN ADULT, AND YOU DON'T MIND LOOKING AT THAT SORTA STUFF, i'd say try and give it a looky! ⚠️⚠️

still kinda human-ish looking!! silhouette wise kinda, but wren (and amy) i realized would probably not have any fleshy covers like Cap does, since they're both built to like, not interact really with the outside world(although wren wants to)

due to sneckdraws more..frail? skeletal look on his face and baldness, wiz (or more-so, Her) and his colors (red and white,) would prob see/make references related to him with fireflies, specifically the maya depiction of fireflies(kuhkay), they have their associations with the underworld(and smoking/cigars, mills woulda gotten one too but he's not bald or dead looking enoughloltho nearly nude mills....🤤)

i seem to be very big on drawing sneckdraw without clothing, not enough boils/cysts things bc initially i was gonna be erm, wiz pov type thing and I don't think they have seen him nakey thankfully

if ur curious, the symbol on his head(and the wings) is the glyph for dark
