Sunflower Child – The Crush

Sunflower Child has just released ‘The Crush”, an 80’s inspired bedroom pop number with stunning atmospheres and a cinematic feel.

The retro style of this new track is reminiscent of contemporary new wave acts such as Japanese Breakfast or Mac Demarco. However, Sunflower Child brings a more edgy electronic flavor to the mix, similar to artists such as Boards of Canada and M83.

One of the most intriguing aspects of this release is definitely the fact that the artist put a lot of personality into it. The song is intimate, much like reading through the pages  “The Crush” is immediately very catchy and dreamlike. Memorable lyrics such as “I don’t wanna lose your touch” stand out for their simple poignancy.
